My stats:

A-Spec Level: 34
B-Spec Level: 35
Game Progress: 97%
Total Wins: 1269
No. Of Cars Owned: 966
Trophies Earned: 77%
Total Distance Driven: 44,434.6 Miles

Now I'm going to start duping cars for the last 35 I need because I'm sick to death of grinding Indy to get them. So who am I cheating?

You? I don't think what I do in GT5 affects you in any way at all.

Myself? Yeah I'm cheating myself out of a few hundred laps of Indy, shame on me.

The Game? I don't think computer software has an opinion.

Sony and PD? Nope, they could care less.

Glad to put it in perspective for all the drama queens who cry cheat everytime the word dupe is mentioned.

The very same thing could be said about opening the console on a random FPS game and enabling the god mode.
The devs intentionally put it there, you're not affecting anyone but yourself, yet, it's even called a cheat.

Whether you want to call it exploiting, cheating or whatever else you feel like, doesn't change the matter of the fact that you're achieving somethign in the game inw ays you wouldn't normally.

Besides, if you care so little about anyone's opinion, why get all defensive about someone calling it cheating?
But, as I said initially, I don't care particularily much if someone needs to dupe to satisfy his GT needs. What does get on my nervs is people acting like you need to dupe in order to play GT5 and keep your real life working.

Well, that is kind of the point. If it's not so important, then why the need to indulge in tedious and time-consuming exploits just so you can rush completing the game? Obsessively needing to have every car in the game ASAP is surely a symptom of someone who takes it far too seriously!

It's not obsessively needing, it's just like to have. Once it's out the way that's it, there'll be no big celebration about it, it's just something to do in the game, collect all cars. I won't get a promotion at my work for doing it, nor a pay rise, I won't win anything that will affect my life in any way, shape or form. It's simply just something to do in a video game.

Read my other posts after the one you just replied to. They'll pretty much answer and cover all you've wrote here.

EDIT: Except god mode on FPS, I've no idea what god mode does so I can't really comment on it.

Seems to be enough to get pretty darn defensive about, though

God mode = Invulnerability.

How can I get defensive about something I've never done? There's no need at all to defend myself. What I am doing is putting it into perspective for the ones who cry cheat constantly, because firstly, they're wrong and secondly, it's irritating.

God mode, sounds like people just ruining a good game for themselves, but if that's what people want to pay £45 for then fair enough.

Because you seem pretty eager to to find a plethora of reasons to justify doing so, whether you did it (yet) or not?

I glad I didn't go on GT planet when I owned an action replay for the PS2....the GT morality police would have been knocking on my door and arresting me for fraud.

I'm waiting for some nutter to come up with a drugs analogy that duping doesn't just affect the duper or some other tenuous link to a crime or the economy.

I love how people claim that "its not cheating" just because its possible.

Dupers are the same noobs who once they have all the cars make a thread titled. "I ruined a good game for myself in five minutes flat, what do I do now?"

And to anyone who says "your taking it to seriously, its just a game." Your the ones that can't handle playing by the rules and are operating multiple duping accounts, so you tell me who's taking it to seriously? Let the game take a couple of years like it was supposed to be played for. Whats the rush? Its not like you need to finish it in time for the next one. There will probably never be a better racing game for the PS3 so saviour the experience. Plus as mentioned alot of these cars are not supposed to be common they are supposed to be earned and exist in low numbers.

I should point out as well it gives dupers an advantage online as well as they don't need to spend anytime earning cash for their cars so they can put that time into tuning them all up instead, whilst the honest racer is left in the past with less cars and less time to tune them. Common sense, but I'm sure the only people who would argue otherwise are the cheaters.

Yes its a game, but even games have rules otherwise there is no sense of satisfaction or point.

I dupe the odd car. I've been playing driving sims with a wheel on the PC since 1994 and have shelled out a lot of money of wheels and frames etc through the years. Hardly a noob.

Would you all lay off the man? He is just spreading knowledge, just because it isnt useful to YOU doesnt mean it isnt useful to another GTP member. Please, no matter the morals, dont harass the duplicators. It doesnt help anything. Only thing it shows is that

hahahahaha great post can people please stop crying about the duping please theres no point in talking about it everyday theres nothing you can do about it its here unless PD wants to stop it and it doesnt look like they care at all.

What the hell are you talking about... #1 Who cares if others need to dupe (probably because the ranking and money system on gt5 is ****e!) #2 There is going to be a better driving game coming out this year. #3 A YEAR life span for this game... are you mad! Try a couple of months... bordom of having to grind is not a 'fun' enjoyable game is it really? and theres another reason why people dupe cars! bordom! and they just want to drive the cars like real enthusiats!

Because you seem pretty eager to to find a plethora of reasons to justify doing so, whether you did it (yet) or not?

Where is the plethora of reasons? The reason is I'd like to have all cars in the game, I can't be bothered grinding anymore. There's only one simple reason. I put my stats there to emphasise the amount of time and effort I've put into GT5 and don't have a problem with dupers while others call people cheats having put in less and still think they're being cheated somehow.

I have a 13 year old son who loves his PS3 and gaming in general, what he really hates though is losing at any game especially to me or his uncle (my brother). When he does lose he'll make up any excuse possible, usually blaming us for "cheating" in some obscure made up way such as saying you do the same move over and over in a fighting game or use grenades to much in an FPS. The thing is though, I'd expect that from a 13 year old.

Well said! Expected from that sort of age!

Yup, when the only way to make decent money is to run the american indy over and over and over just holding left and accelerate, dam right im not gonna spend all my money on one car leaving me to run that dam race for fifty billion hours to make.some decent cash.

But most of the cars in GT5 don't cost 'decent money'. If you were to do the American Indy ONCE the $117,000you'd have would buy you any number of cars of your choice - I think the all of the high-buck cars were not meant to be acquired in such rapid and brutal succession. Occasionally I'll do a bit of grinding to get a special car I want, bit I'm mostly content to buy, tune, and enjoy all of the cars in my garage and just make my money off of enjoying testing them all out.

That way, I can get max. enjoyment out of the game and still make money while avoiding as much of the grind as possible. The expensive cars will come when they come - it adds replay value to the game for me, so I don't see any need to trade/dupe cars, parts, etc. in a rush to have everything.

But that's just me!

I want to trade cars with other players. I want the enjoyment of doing a deal and haggling and giving them something they want for something I want and hopefully making a bit of cash in the process.

But I can't because all the dupers will undercut. And when you trade with a duper there's no haggling since they'll just cave in, safe in the knowledge that they will reload their save and not lose anything anyway. Or they'll refuse the trade because they can get the car you have from another duper.

If youre duping and you never enter into the online experience at all you're simply guilty of exploiting. As soon as one of those cars comes onto the market, or is raced online in a public room, you're impacting on my enjoyment and have killed off part of this game. You're a cheat. Nothing less.

PD will clamp down on this soon enough and we'll be looking at having all gifts monitored centrally or by killing the gifting process totally. This again will impact upon my game.

Impacting on your enjoyment? How could you possibly know when racing online if a car has been duped or not without you directly asking all the players in the room "excuse me, is your car duped"

Utter nonsense.

I agree with everything you say here, this game had the possibility of having a really good marketplace where the really expensive stuff would be really rare, and it would be an achievement to get it.

That's the thing I'm not understanding about this whole thing, when there was talk about people hacking trophies and such the general response on this forum was that it would ruin the game by making trophies meaningless. Yet having a 20 million cr car to show off is meaningless now, which is arguably a much bigger achievement than most of the trophies, yet people on here just say, "Oh well let people play the game the way they want."

Having a 20m cr car was meaningless anyway, you can get one using an RM Corvette ZR-1 and a few days grinding Indy. It takes no skill at all and certainly doesn't reflect your driving skills. Same goes for the X2010 which can be obtained by reaching level 35 B-Spec with no driving involved at all. So there's your valuble and meaningful cars right there, obtained using not one ounce of (virtual) driving skill.

I don't need to know if someone is cheating or not to have someone cheat against me. A lot of the online lobbies are mixed rooms, where they work on a rotation of class based races. In these the only form of restriction comes from the money earned.

My trade off is that I have to balance the cars I own, with the upgrades I have. It's about compromises. Dupers don't have to compromise. Now you could say that I could simply pick another room but that's not really realistic is it because people don't own up to their duping online.

There's very little point using an honour system when racing people with no honour.

It's very simple. If PD had meant you to have unlimited access to whatever cars you wanted they wouldn't have used the money system at all. You'd have just been able to pick the cars you wanted.

Care to make a comment on my notes about trading? Or should I just go online and make a post that says "Looking to trade with someone who doesn't dupe" in the naive hope that whoeever answers isn't as lacking in honour?

Not-so-much-Fun = Repeating the same races over and over to earn virtual money to spend on virtual cars, and to increase my "level" to allow me to "buy" certain cars and "unlock" certain races and tracks.

Lots-of-Fun = Being able to use any car, on any track, at any time, to check the only thing I'm really interested in: how good am I at driving cars in GT5?

Slightly-Fun = Figuring out, or learning from another GT5 player, how to bypass the Not-so-much-Fun parts, so that it is possible to spend more of my (limited) time doing the Lots-of-Fun parts of the Game.

Can't wait to get to the point where I possess every car I might ever want to drive, with any and all tunes I might want to apply, never having to spend a moment's further consideration or care on the flawed parts of the Game, and focusing solely on the elements of the Game that make it so great.

Any and all tips that help me reach that point sooner rather than later, are gratefully received.

And of course, I make no judgement and form no opinion on other people who choose a different form of experience with this Game (especially not whilst I'm enjoying the Lots-of-Fun bits of GT5). :)

As for your comments on trading, GT5 is a driving game, not a trading game but why would you care if you've received a duped car? It doesn't handle any differently, it's bhp is the same and you've got the car you wanted. It really doesn't matter because the result is ultimately the same for you.

Back to online racing, I have 966 cars (all earned just to let you know) now I only use online rooms with both weight and bhp restrictions and I'm restricted anyway in two ways. 1. The restrictions set in the room limit my car choice and 2. You can only have 100 favourites anyway so I rarely can choose whatever car I want. But I go online to race, I'm not worried about where the next guy got his car from, I'm focusing on my own performance.

You would enjoy the game a lot more if you stopped worrying about the way people you don't even know are playing the game, believe me.

I hardly ever buy upgrade parts anyway - except racing soft tires. With over 1,000 cars in the game, if I want a faster car I just use a different one. I don't really care to copy my game save and restore anyway - kind of makes me nervous :)

The best argument for getting rid of duping?

Duping very negatively splits the GT5 community. No matter which side you adhere to, the end result is a nasty and unnecessary split. The split doesn't go away until the process goes away.

So somebody posts an interesting exploit and decides to share the knowledge with the community and immediately the thread degenerates into a moral slug fest. What a surprise.

I'm not a traditional GT player. The first GT game I ever played was Prologue. But I've played dozens of other PS3/PC racing sims. I play GT5 because I think it has the best and most sophisticated console physics going. And it's a great game to race under pre-arranged and tightly controlled settings. I could care less about the whole RPG concept of GT. A-spec, B-spec, license tests, seasonal events--honestly, I thought most of it was a waste of time and not really that enjoyable. To me the 'goal' of the game is not to collect the most cars or to see what level I can attain or how many credits I can collect or to get my hands on the X1 or whatever it's called now-a-days. The goal is getting enjoyment out of online racing. To me, it's nonsense to have to jump through hoops to 'open' cars or different tires or additional exhausts. So of course I dupe cars. Is that cheating? Hardly. Cheating is bumping hp against a spec class field. Or putting on RS tires instead of RH because somebody forget to set the limit. Cheating is purposely nerfing somebody off in a braking zone and then continuing on, claiming it was lag or an accident or whatever.

The moral outrage in this forum by a select group of mainly traditional GT enthusiasts over something which does not affect them has to be one of the funniest, most amusing things I've seen in my 2+ years as a member of GTPlanet.

The fact of the matter is, the mods on GT Planet have no official stand on duping, other than that they don't have a problem with any thread that discusses it or debates it, so long as it doesn't violate the AUP. If game saves were not linked to an account, I'm sure there would be an entire section for posting them. And neither Jordan, nor anybody else officially linked to GTPlanet would have an issue with it.

Sony themselves could care less that people are duping. They probably aren't too happy with all the ghost accounts and additional PSN traffic it creates. Hence the likely reason for the 1 car per day trade limit. But the only reason game saves were locked to begin with was to prevent paid DLC from being copied. Nothing else.

Sooner or later, people will grow up and realize it's just a game. And 'earning' cars by building credits isn't 'earning' anything. At least not in the real world.

Have to agree, by the time you've arsed about buying parts, sending them, quitting the game, onto another account, send them back, quit game, back onto proper account you could have grinded Indy 3 times, bought 5 sets of racing soft tyres and have 200k left over. A pretty silly idea to dupe parts when you think about it.

5 RSS is 180,000. 3 Indies is 252,000 (it makes more sense to do max $/min, not max $/race). You're not going to have 200,000 left over. Whats more the grind was 8 minutes around a rather boring track. With the dupe, you get the 5 RSS, a 6th RSS on the car you just duped, said car, and 1 of every other tuning part.

Duping is clearly quicker, easier, and allows you to get more. The time argument is what doesn't make sense.

The idea that you need to "dupe" cars and parts to avoid "grinding" is just rubbish. If you just play A-Spec and win all the Seasonal Events you would have enough money to buy EVERY car in the game in about 6 months and the vast majority of them in a fraction of that time.
And if you dupe, it takes less than 6 months because you don't have to wait a week to refil your cash.

Indulging in tedious "duping" exploits just to fill a garage full cars, most of which you can't possibly have driven, just seems insane. Why not enjoy the cars you do have and get the most out of them whilst playing the game in the way it was designed? You'll soon get every car you want, but in the meantime will actually have some fun.

You're missing the point. Duping is what allows one to have fun in GT5. It gives me more cars and lets me ignore A-Spec for the most part. That last bit alone about ignoring A-Spec is one of the things that makes it truly great.

And duping certainly isn't tedious. I mean it's duping, not grinding Indy or racing the AI.

'Yo dawg, we heard you like to dupe so we put a fake account into your PS3 so you can dupe while you dupe.'
Preciesly. We're duping already, so why not dupe parts?

Would you prefer exploiting?

Exploiting is actually accurate, since duping isn't cheating.

Some people have to work hard to win cars and money to get a good car, other people just use "exploits" that clearly weren't intended by the game developers to short-cut this process. This basically undermines the whole value of hard-to-get cars in the market.
Some people choose to work hard for cars to boost their "accomplishment". Other people choose to focus on racing. I have no problem with either side.

I play for online, so hard to get car is pointless to me. The X1 would be virtually useless if rare. Duping is what made the car great because now it can be raced online. IMO

Imagine if someone found a way of duping diamonds. What do you think that would do the value and prestige of them as a commodity? What would you think of "dupers" if you'd invested heavily in a large diamond collection through hard work and astute investments?
I'd say "why didn't I think of that!"

The funny thing is, this happens all the time. You're only giving it a negative connotation because you don't like duping.

What if people invested millions in HD-DVD, only to have someone with Bluray come along and make their work pointless? This is simple business.

Personally I do think all the exploits have a negative and corrosive effect on the entire community. Whilst it's not a major concern for me what other people do, it does have an effect outside the little bubble people pretend they exist in.

Aside from having people go around online and demand 500 cars from one car, there is no effect. People act like GT5 market, which was completely made up and never intended by the devs, was built into the game and "ruined". The truth is, it just wasn't popular.

aha.. and then.. with your 900 dupes you NEED to have .. how many of these cars has been driven more then once if even once..
Well, I don't have 900 cars, but the vast majority have been driven multiple times. The only barrier reducing the number of drives so far has been the 100 car limit to favorites list. If I could access my entire garage at anytime, I would have certainly been able to drive everything more than once.

imo this whole duping is plain stupid. Whats the point of having 1000 cars as fast as possible?! its so "lol"
And now.. duping parts. just because you have to save, backup-relogin-send back.. why not just drive and have fun with the cars you can afford and with time you will have the cars you want and need. ah.. wait.. there is a trophy.
No one cares about the trophy, at least I don't. I could sit there with 5,000,000 from seasonals and buy 1000 karts. Easiest way to get the trophy. The only problem is trophies are pointless wastes of time. My other options are grinding and occasionally playing, or duping and playing a lot. As I bought GT to race, it really leaves duping as the best option. Fun is the whole point after all.

its not the way its meant to be so its a cheat.
Then the trading market was a cheat too, I see.

GT5 is the best example of how the gamer community is somehow addicted and its all about finishing and having everything right now. If there is some effort needed it sucks, it's unbalanced. If not everyone can get gold -> it's unfair.
You're entitled to your opinion. I see instead a great example of how people are not interested in poor game design and would like a change. It would be great if PD were to listen and have GT6 come with the option to unlock all cars.

Why not having FUN. Thats what games are made for.
Dont tell me saving, backing up- quit game and so on is fun....

It's not particularly, but it beats playing A-Spec for money by a long shot.

Well, that is kind of the point. If it's not so important, then why the need to indulge in tedious and time-consuming exploits just so you can rush completing the game? Obsessively needing to have every car in the game ASAP is surely a symptom of someone who takes it far too seriously!

Tedius and time consuming? We're not talking about grinding.

The devs intentionally put it there, you're not affecting anyone but yourself, yet, it's even called a cheat.

They can call it whatever they want, doesn't change what it is. Likewise, many of you call duping cheating, but none of you realize that that doesn't make it cheating.

I love how people claim that "its not cheating" just because its possible.

Dupers are the same noobs who once they have all the cars make a thread titled. "I ruined a good game for myself in five minutes flat, what do I do now?"

There are no facts in that quote. So you don't really have a point to make.

Your the ones that can't handle playing by the rules
There are no rules. Save for ones a player makes up to restrict himself, like those who decide to earn money for cars; and the rules of the host online.

Let the game take a couple of years
Why?

like it was supposed to be played for.
No thanks, I found a better way to play it.

saviour the experience. Plus as mentioned alot of these cars are not supposed to be common they are supposed to be earned and exist in low numbers.
I am savoring it, thanks to duping. If it wasn't for duping I would have wasted countless more hours playing A-Spec, in effect ruining the whole point of buying the game.

And like I said before, rare cars are just stupid from an online perspective. Everyone should have every car so that any race can be entered. Duping brings us closer to that thankfully.

I should point out as well it gives dupers an advantage online as well as they don't need to spend anytime earning cash for their cars so they can put that time into tuning them all up instead, whilst the honest racer is left in the past with less cars and less time to tune them.
It was their choice to go focus on offline. No one is forcing them, and there is no harm in taking the alternative. Some people don't play to race online. That's fine, but I don't see why you would expect those people to have an edge online.

Yes its a game, but even games have rules otherwise there is no sense of satisfaction or point.
Well, the rules are basically up to the player in single player, or the host online. They can be anything.

That way, I can get max. enjoyment out of the game and still make money while avoiding as much of the grind as possible. The expensive cars will come when they come - it adds replay value to the game for me, so I don't see any need to trade/dupe cars, parts, etc. in a rush to have everything.

But that's just me!

So true, because none of that at all applies to me or anyone else who dislikes A-Spec.

I agree with everything you say here, this game had the possibility of having a really good marketplace where the really expensive stuff would be really rare, and it would be an achievement to get it.
Like dirving Indy for 13 hours? Where's the skill in that? The only car in the game that really requires skill to get is the X1 carbon. I generally think that people equate skill to achievement. That knocks out about 1000 cars.

Can't argue with rarity though, however I can't say that rarity is good either.

Hacking a trophy would be cheating. Trophies are a competitive thing, it basically says "you did X". And the rule is that you need to do X to get a trophy. Think of it as being analogous to an online race. Getting the trophy is like crossing the line in first place. Hacking a trophy is like shortcutting Trail Mountain.

Duping on the other hand doesn't bestow the duper with an unfair advantage at all. You can't cheat offline. They still need to pick a competitive car online. They still need to make clean passes and stay on the track, or get kicked. They still need to out drive the other guys to win.

The best argument for getting rid of duping?

Duping very negatively splits the GT5 community. No matter which side you adhere to, the end result is a nasty and unnecessary split. The split doesn't go away until the process goes away.

You sure? Here I am on the duping side. I don't see any split. I have no problems with you. If I see someone who earns cars online, I don't kick them and yell

"Go dupe your cars, then come try racing!"

I welcome them and have a good race. If you see a split, it's of your own creation, and you're the only one who can mend it.

Though yeah, removing duping might be a solution. Just give us all the cars at game start and duping won't exist.

I'm pretty sure every thread about duping turns into this, a massive mess. I'm still not sure where I stand on this issue, but recently I lost my right to judge those who do dupe (won't explain why, but I haven't started duping or birthday exploiting!). As such, I won't say one or the other is wrong, but these are the points as I see them.

The dupers have a point in that this is a game, so what they do doesn't really, actually affect anyone else. It also means they can drive cars they normally wouldn't be able to afford. Also, given how difficult/boring it can be to make money, it makes more sense than doing thousands of laps of Indy. I can completely see their point here, GT5 sold in huge numbers but it pretty much hid the fact that it's a racing game structured like a fairly hardcore RPG. It's not fair that those who don't want to play an RPG be deprived of such a great racing simulator.

The anti-dupers have a point in that this community has, until recently, been of pretty high standard. I remember when the majority of new threads were about epic races, great cars, bad cars and so on; now it's about 'dupe this', 'exploit that', 'this game is crap'. I for one hope that this is a passing fad and that by this time next year (hopefully sooner) the quality of threads (whether the people posting them continue to dupe or not) improve. Of course there will be threads about exploits, I just hope to see fewer of them as time goes on.

Also, duping ruined GT Planet's marketplace, though as PD never intended a marketplace feature (one car a day? Great trading opportunities there!), this is of questionable importance. It was nice while it lasted, though, but now it's impossible to move for all the people offering X2010s and any number of obviously duped cars. It's also next to impossible to trade normal cars like, say, a Prelude for an Integra Type R of a certain year, because your thread just gets lost too quickly (I presume, anyway, I haven't been anywhere near the marketplace for a while).

Also I remember seeing one thread where someone said they were kicked for using their legitimately bought classic Le Mans car in a show-off lobby and was accused of exploiting. Of course, he probably just went and found another lobby and that event was of very little importance, but the point here is this: He felt motivated to post about it here, which means he cared for at least a few minutes. Exploiters maintain that what they do has no effect on anyone else; this is not true.

Finally, as someone else said, the fact that this exploit exists has split the community. If no one were to talk about duping and other exploits there would be far less 'bad blood' around here, though as far as a big, possibly over-hyped release like GT5 is concerned, there will always be arguing over every little detail.

Exploiters will exploit, and they're perfectly within their right to do so, I'm not saying anyone should stop or do otherwise. It just seems crazy that they can't see that it's cheating (sorry, but shortcutting the money system to such a massive extent HAS to be cheating) and effecting other people, no matter how irrelevant they may feel other peoples' complaints are; if someone complains about it, then yes, they are impacting other peoples' enjoyment of the game whether they agree or not. That doesn't mean 'shame on you', of course, but it would be nice if they owned up to it. As it is, it just seems like they're full of 'you take this way too seriously', yet if they were to not talk about duping so much, no one would care.

So I hope that remained impartial because I'm both for and against duping, I think both sides need to realise that there are people with opposite views to their own and need to compromise if they even care about the friction they both cause in the community.

3 x Indy = 351,000. I was rounding it up, not being literal. The thread isn't about duping cars, it's about duping parts. As it says, 5 parts per day.

Waste of time, tuning parts aren't that expensive.

I don't know why people are so bothered by other people doing this. At the end of the day they have paid for the game so it is theirs and it's up to them how they play their game. It's as simple as that really, I don't dupe car's or parts but that is how I want to play the game and how I like to play if somebody else like's to play by duping then it's really not mine or anyone else's business.

Just give us all the cars at game start and duping won't exist.

But that would ruin the game entirely, which would be the dupers' fault. You can say it's PD's fault for accidentally allowing duping to happen, but that would be like saying it's, I dunno, Colt (the firearm manufacturer)'s fault that people get shot every day. No, it's the shooter's fault, right?

Actually, the way I see it, duping is kind of a necessary thing. I mean look at it this way: You have die-hard GT fans, people who don't like shortcutting and so on who can play the game exactly how it was intended.

Then you have the die-hard fans who want every car and don't really care for tradition (excuse me if I'm taking this too seriously but GT has been a massive part of my gaming life, so...), die-hard GT fans who can't quite believe how badly the game has been designed, new players who didn't realise what GT has always been about (grinding, basically) and casual players who just want all the cars, and duping allows them to do that and still participate online instead of just giving up.

So, actually, duping is kind of necessary for PD to still sell to loads of people yet allow die-hard fans to enjoy GT games without toning them down to appeal to more people. I'm worried that GT6 will cater to these people too much and compromise the challenge too much... I think one of my favourite things to do in GT5 is to get a really basic car and race it totally stock, then maybe spend the money I win with it to tune it. I did that with an 80's MR2 the other day in the Clubman Cup, it was great fun.
