Well, I may have to wait. I've just spent my cash having my Alienware fixed, and getting a new computer. That's 3 now. Not including a Laptop.

New screen, note the oil drilling in the back. CJ to become an oil tycoon? Also note the massive draw distance.

This appears to be the first pic released of the desert!

Excellent find Ev0! you are probably right about this being the first desert pic.
Also the power lines across the desert, attention to detail i think so!.

im confused, if you reserved it will they order how many that have been reserved plus the amount they put on the shelf, i was suprised i reserved mine so late........ 2 months ago, lol. i thaught i needed money to reserved turned out it was free, someone please respond.
This has been discussed before, in this thread actually in some detail!. The verdict was that in most game stores the more money you pay the higher up the waiting list you get, thus the greater chances of recieving the game on the release date. So if you pay in full when you reserve your copy you in theory should be topping the list.
But may I add there is a thread for this very topic!.

This pic was inevitable!

IGN has a new story!
It contains some more info about San Fierro.
New IGN story

Haha, I just noticed in that first screenie CJ is wearing dog tags, what a cool necklace thing, I'm gonna have those!

Haha yeah. Also, for information and questions on pre-ordering, make your way over to the "Have You Pre-Ordered GTA:SA Yet?" thread.

I'm not sure if that CJ pic is in the Desert, but it could possibly be. The M16 looks slightly better. Also, those Dog Tags look cool!

Also, that IGN is almost word-for-word for the Gamespot article, but if you missed, it, your chance is now! 👍

I'm fairly sure that's the desert. Notice the small shrubs which are typical desert plant life. Also, oil drilling on land is typically conducted in desert areas.

I noticed that after I posted, but I couldn't be bothered editing.

But I wouldn't know much about Desert plant-life.

my experience is that ther is no such thing

dog tags eh? can we join the army? that would be cool. then come back with all kinds of skill modifiers for shooting and such! that would be cool. (but i realize highly highly unlikely)

**IM BACK!!!! **

Finally....replaced my modem after a week and I got my internet back! Of course, I had to read through 7 pages of this thread to catch up :D

Wow....all this stuff has surprised me.....like the NSX and the de-railing trains....crazy. 16 days left............*drool*

I have my room all set up: it's completely isolated from the outside world except for that damn door ;) Nothing but a couch, fridge, TV, PS2 and a single lamp.

Good to hear you're back, but it's only 13 days until the release date, 12 if you've preordered and your local game store will recieve and distribute copies of SA on the 25th.

Ya I reserved mine today, and they'll have it on the 25th but it'll bepast midnight when they get it, and its a schoolnight. :grumpy: So I guess I'll have to wait for the 26th.

I have called micro play and what they said if you reordered the game you will have a copy waiting for me the day it comes out, they said they have so many people asking about it there doubling up the order that there selling, and they said the have over 60 orders. what is funny is that this is a small not so know shop and they have that many. and there is not down payments, so if your name is on the list you will get one the first day. ...................................... now all I need is another 35 dollars lol.

Awesome man, we got our games waiting for us there, man why can't it come out now.

SA GOES GOLD!

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is complete, ready and waiting to be shipped and played!

You can check out this little bit from www.insidegameronline.com, to see a little bit more about it.

As we know, San Andreas is rated 'M' for Mature. But to clear something up, the PC version will be available in the summer of 2005.

German version of SA is cut!

Recently the German entertainment ratings commission announced that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released in Germany with the rating from 16. This means the game will be censored, and today we bring you some information on this censorship:
  • There will be NO special animation for headshots.
  • There will be NO "reward" for killing people, for example they will not leave money behind after dying.
  • You will NOT be able to interact with corpses (Such as hitting or kicking dead bodies).
  • Blood effects WILL stay in the game, uncensored.
  • All story missions, weapons and vehicles WILL stay as in the original version.
Are these details a taste of what's to come for other countries that will be limiting their San Andreas release? Well we know that San Andreas will stay uncut in the United States, having been given the rating M for Mature. The game will also remain uncut in the United Kingdom, where it has been rated as an 18+ game. The Australian version will no doubt be censored, to what degree and if as severely as Vice City is yet unknown.

It doesnt seem that bad if our versions end up being cut.

Man, those are really stupid ways to cut the game. Man I feel sorry for the Germans....

R32GTST/M
Wow you must be the first person in history to feel sorry for the germans!.
I guess I'm the second person then! Those are lame ways to cut the game, I have to be thankful right now that Canada doesn't have any lame censorship laws like that (for now...).

Ev0
12 if you've preordered and your local game store will recieve and distribute copies of SA on the 25th.
I don't think you will receive it on the 25th, rather they will mail it out, and you will receive it on the 26th.

I agree with Blake and Ev0 on the censorship. They take out Headshot Animations, but leave all the blood effects in? And I don't understand them taking out the money reward after killing people...Even though I don't like that much personally, I don't know why they would censor that...That all just sounds plain stupid to me.

I doubt Australia will experience anything like this. My guess: We'll get rid of Hookers (if any, they haven't even had a mention, unlike in GTA 3 and Vice City pre-game build-ups) and possibly tone down the blood (if the blood is overly bad). I'm not certain on the headshot animation.

Btw, great post R32GTST/M. Finally someone else posts with links and formatting everywhere! Nice job, keep it up. 👍

If you preorder it from a retail store, there is a chance they will be selling the game late on the 25th, since lots of stores will be recieving their first shipments of SA on the evening of the 25th. It all depends on the people who work at the store and their manager; whether they want to hand out the game a day before the release or not.

Well I'm getting uncut, so I feel happy and Aust's censorship doesn't worry me (for once)

It doesn't worry me if Hookers are in this game. I've never been fussed over the GTA Prostitutes. It would be good to experience it once or twice, and if they are in San Andreas, I will get to try it on Blake's game. I just hope alot of the dying animations and blood are kept. I don't mind if some blood things are cut out, but not too many.
