No, that's very unlikely, the fans often write notes on the track to drivers that drive in the 24h race.
Pierre Kaffer is kinda famous here because he drove, like I mentioned, for the Manthey Racing team, which won the last 4 times in a row iirc.

Actually, I think they're probably referring to Pierre Veyron. (AKA one of Bugatti's most famous racing drivers)

Yeah, cheering on a French racing driver in German who's dead since 1970 makes indeed more sense than a currently active German driver born in 1976.....

I share G.T.Ace's opinion.

"Pierre gib Gas!" is like "Press down the throttle Pierre!", so this sentence is for a present race driver.

I remember we had this same discussion earlier, with the Bentley and Maserati ads on the Tokyo circuit. I suppose it doesn't confirm wheter those cars are in or not, but then again, would they really acquire the licence just for an ad?

You acquire a license for the track. Then you're allowed to recreate the track perfectly. Remember, it's Aston that paid nurburgring to have it's banners on the track. Those banners become property of the track for as long as Aston sponsors it.

Just a little food for thought I posted in the General Discussion Thread...

"Wow cuz at 100mph I can totally tell if that tree is 3D or 2D. I think some of you guys are expecting GT5 to be the ultimate photo simulator... last time I checked its the ultimate driving simulator and when you are driving you usually are moving. The funny thing is all you nitpickers are probably looking at GT5 the same way KY does, "Its never perfect, its never perfect, it could always be better..."."

It's the ultimate car collecting simulator, if anything.

You're flying by at 100+ mph and you're gonna complain about the two blue shirt guys?

Maybe they're twin brothers.

Sure, but where is PD's attention to detail?! It takes like 5 mins to fix if that :)

And it's not like Kaz has to do it himself, one of the track modellers should do it!

It just looks naff in screenshots

Imagine this curse driving on 24h race with the sun moving across the sky as well as the moon!

:)

Somehow I didn't see many complaining here, but since you mention it... Yes it's never perfect, but to me and probably many others GT is about being as close to perfection as possible and not necessarely about driving fast all the time and as long as some important aspects of racing / driving are excluded I can't help but think the real driving slogan is really only a (nice) joke.

I spy 3d trees, Every thing is emence detail, And polished to perfection, I can only dream of what the other tracks will look like, Great job PD

If i can get into detail, PD are GODs basically, And love the Track side detail, What it's like on a normal day at nurb, where the locals come to watch the cars and take videos,
Like nfs shift, but not that over done, just perfect.

Who gives a crap about the trees?! Seriously!

You can stop and look at the trees and complain, while I pass you and win the race.

Trees are just something that nitpickers have to fall back on every time they want to critisize the game.

While they are busy looking at the trees, my eyes are directly focused on the most amazing car models I have ever seen in a videogame.

Those pics are about as real as those air brushed playboy centerfold shots.

You are right, completely real. Have you ever seen a centerfold in peron? Or one on regular tv? No airbrushing, but they aren't ugly.

I find the shadows of the cars not close to reality. Do you think so?

Ok, the next person to mention 2-d trees or unrealistic shadows should be instantly BANNED! PD took 6 years to make this game as perfect as possible, and to say that the shadows are somehow unrealistic is like telling your friend he missed a spot while painting the entire Wall of China.

I know it sounded kinda harsh but really. Shadows?

Hello its bloody nice to meet you all! :D Anyways I must agree that these are excellent pictures. For those complaining about the trees, LOOK OUT THE WINDOW!!!!!
