New Seasonals June 2.

After playing nothing but GT5 since release and waiting every week for new seasonal events, I thought I'd miss them when PSN was down, but now that it is back up and there are a handful of new events I don't even pay attention. Shift 2 and Dirt 3 are so much more fun. I still throw in GT5 every so often to chip away at gold licenses and special events, but it is no longer the big huge event it was before.

That's the difference between faith (in GT5) and casual gaming. Some people play games to enjoy themselves, others have to obey their chosen faith and conform to moral authority that is our Kaz, who art in PD, hallowed be thy game, thy Nurburgringdom come.

Yeah, I guess so! I thought the grass was greener on the other side...and when I climbed over the fence I found out it really WAS greener! Especially with the Legends DLC!

Thomas, I have never owned a game that has had anywhere close to the number of issues this game has. This is supposed to be a finished product. The process for delivering online content is supposed to be second-nature by now. Most games have only needed one or two updates since they were released. The fact that this game is 6 months into it's lifespan and still needs major updates is not something to just brush off. It means the game was never completed and we all paid top dollar for an incomplete product.

As for SlyckTires, I disagree. It is clear that this game was always intended to have a long shelf life due to the epic amount of time it took to make. Playing the same races over and over again is boring. It isn't entertaining. I think 95% of the people who bought GT5, have owned previous GT games and know how boring the same tracks and races are. They bought this game to see something new, not the same old GT. So PD does have a need to keep on schedule with their seasonal events and the OCD.

I appreciate your long detailed post on every issue this game has... And If PD hadn't released all this information about what they were going to do you wouldn't think twice about this game being complete or not... Although they have missed one weekly update it doesn't mean there not working on something to improve the game. That is there job to make video games. When you make a plan to work out everyday I'm sure you miss out now and then because your working on something else in your life. You also seemed to have forgot about the recent earthquake and tsunami that has hit Japan they probably have other things to do, other then update games for your impatient ass

I understand your opinion (though I disagree with it being incomplete)

It isn't something that is open to debate. There are features listed on the back of the box that PD still hasn't gotten around to actually put into the game, 6 months after the game came out.

It would have taken less effort to look for yourself (because there are dozens of threads detailing that exact subject) then it took to type out this "clever" sentence.

And If PD hadn't released all this information about what they were going to do you wouldn't think twice about this game being complete or not.

Considering the sheer amount of stuff that was promised for the game mere months before its release, let alone the stuff that is still being advertised as being in the game when it isn't, the fact that people aren't still calling for PD's head on a pike is the only thing to think twice about.

The box says it on the back at the very top. It also says "add-on content" and "robust online and community features." To me, robust means that there are more than a few features online. It means more than 1 event each week. There hasn't been any add-on content as far as I know. These are advertised on the box.

Also, it isn't just one seasonal even that they have missed. There have been more than a few and I got the game almost 2 months after release.

I am about to give up on PD's stuff and perhaps PS3 gaming and get back to hardcore computer gaming. Sony's mess has disappointed me a big time.

I never understood what the point of posting a statement like this?

Do you expect that anyone cares? Is the community of GT Planet supposed to beg you to come back, and give you sweet sugars, and fluffy hugs so you feel better?

And if you play GT5 just because of the Seasonal Events and OCD - just stop playing it, problem solved.

I'm wondering if the seasonals that we have recieved since the return of PSN were already done and ready for posting online prior to PSN going down.

They may have not had enough TT and Drift ready for the last update from before the PSN debacle. That being the reason they were missing.

Now we may get what they have been working on since PSN went down. I would have thought they had some kind of timeline from Sony for when PSN was due back up so they probably had 3 or 4 weeks to work on whatever they have planned to show this week.

Just a thought. Maybe we'll find out this week.

seconded, i rarely post on this site but i think that is a harsh and unfair statement towards the disaster that has happened in japan
