Is it me or does GT5 look better then before in those replays?
And it once again shows how much passion PD has for the world of racing.. if only they released more footage/trailers/interviews like these.

That was awesome! This is the only game with NASCAR in it that I'm excited about. And I hope they include Darlington on there... its a crappy place be in but its an awesome track. Maybe I should call some connections?

I dont wade through all the posts in 'Latest News' thread to find whats interesting, and a lot of other casual members wont either!

Shame there wasnt any full-damage video though, especially for Nascar you'd think it would be a great target market to show damage off...

Does anyone else get the feeling GT is goin to become a 'jack of all trades master of none' game with all of the different types of racing it wants to incorporate??

Speaking personally i couldnt care less about nascar and will prob neva race it at all afta a couple goes just to see what its all about when the game eventually drops.

I'm more interested in the WRC side of things and how thats goin to work, the rally handling model was great in gt3 but PD changed and ruined it completely for gt4 so i can only hope and prey they've fixed it for their latest opus.

I'd like a realistic rally game after codemasters went all american and ruined the Colin McRae series so heres hoping.

I gotta admit I thought the rally part of GT has always felt tagged on for the hell of it. I don't mind so much cos rally really aint my thing but I did feel it was kind of harsh on anyone who bought it for the rally alone. I suppose those kind of people didn't really make sense to me, since Colin McRae was (as far as I'm aware) a proper rally game so rally fans had no real business expecting much from Gran Turismo.

So now they're not only including Nascar but using WRC branding which suggests (to me at least) they've stepped up the rally component into something like a proper rally game and hints that they may have don Nascar justice too. If not then expect a half arsed WRC, quarter arsed Nascar and crash hot Road racing sim.

Suits me but I can't help wondering what's the point of that. Surely it's just going to alienate fans of WRC and Nascar and leave them feeling ripped-off?

They did "Americanize" it just a tad. But Dirt2 is a great game physics wise.

Ya, Dirt is just an overstatement about rally, loads of content but the spirit isnt there.

NASCAR in GT5, cannot wait to push those 800hp beasts around a 2 mile track in 45 seconds.

Weird.....I had a dream about Nascar last night....had nothing to do with GT5 but funny that I wake up and find this on GTplanet....now that it's March, I truly hope this is the start of a GT media blowout.

And I agree, GT has never looked better...those interior shots were amazing. Can't wait to play a sport in the GT series that I've grown up with. Sure it's not my favorite form of racing, but racing is racing in my book.

Might just be you - I found that video to be a bit clean and clinical. I'll reserve judgment until I see a better quality video or even play it myself, but that just brought back memories of hi-res PC games of old. Don't get me wrong, it looks very nice, but it really does lack the "grit" of reality.
