Well the footage may be from last year, but it's certainly been approved and edited recently by someone at Sony, as it has the new "make.believe" ident that they've literally only just started using in trailers.

So it must have been released now for a reason...maybe there's some elaboration in the GoWIII trailer.

I may remember wrong though.

Unless that was real life I really can't tell the difference.

It was real life, and it's pretty easy to tell the difference imo. GT5's graphics are great and everything, but they still look like a game. There's no more than 16 cars in any of the GT5 shots.

Notice how much better the lighting is in the newer footage vs the old E3 ones. The old ones look too bright and cartoony.
And the sky is no longer burnt out and interior shadows are smooth

I think most casual NASCAR fans are Gordan fans, mostly because he's the only driver they can name.

Looking great. I have no interest in watching/following NASCAR whatsoever, but I sure can't wait to drive it in GT5. I can imagine it getting the adrenalin pumping when you're tailing someone at 200mph.

Whats so appealing about NASCAR, is it really that popular in the states? i don't get it, whats so great about cars going in circles which im sure they've heard this many times before, the only thing spectacular about it from my point of view are the crashes but that's endangering lives, I hope this isn't the reason why so many people in America are attracted to it

I'm not into NASCAR, either (though I am from U.S.A.), but something tells me it'll be changed when I am surrounded by 39 other (or so) drivers going nearly 200 MPH. It just seems overwhelmingly fun.

Oh, and not all the tracks are oval!

They are ignition boxes, one is spare in case of failure the driver can switch between them
