does anyone else thing that the "chevron's" on the
side of the car could also be side-ways birdies?
There's Piers Courage in the Williams-entered Brabham in 1969. Note the chevrons on the sides of the nose, and the white stripe on the tip.

lol, i figured they had to be more than just a subtle f-you.

I believe RBS is to become the primary sponsor.

That would explain the dark blue.

And what's up with the "retro" number style? First Ferrari, then Williams? Are we going to see orange McLarens any time soon?

They did it in testing with the MP4/12 (1997) and (I think) the MP4/13 (1998). I've only found pictures of models of the MP4/12, although I haven't looked that hard.

EDIT: No, that's a lie. I've found some really tiny pictures of the real thing.

is it just me or is that williams running on bridgestone?

Umm, yes they are...

RE: Orange McMercs....the primary colors will be silver or black as long as Mercedes is involved. Though I am curious to see if the 06 livery changes much.

Speaking of livery's...the new Midland looks nice in pictures. Agian like the Williams the renderings looked like trash.

Williams and Toyota have switched to Bridgestone tyres – meanwhile, STR have switched to Michelins.

How can it look so good? 👍

Btw, I also want the good old Rothmans-scheme back. 👍

I would rather that they stayed in Michilins... however its up to them.

Why. It's a good move for Williams and TOyota. F1 will most likely be a single tire Formula by 2008 (or so) and that manufacturer will more likely be Bridgestone than Michelin. Teams are getting the early jump.

Beyond the Bridgestone construction/formulas are superior over Michelin when tire changing is allowed (which it will be next year).

Plus there's an even playing field now, 5 teams on Bridgestone, 5 on Michelin.

Yes i suppose so, and the bridgestones are better in the wet conditions and colder track temperatures. Lets hope that Bridgestone don't just develope their tyre around Ferrari again....

They were going with their best bet. with two more half way decent teams on their tires this year they will have a better rounded tire.
