Gah, here's a tip for the 700PP race. I was using the premium Jaguar XKR as jrkiwiboy mentioned, stock apart from some aero changes and power reduction, started on racing intermediate and by the end of lap 8 had a lead of over a minute. Decided to change to racing soft for the last 2 laps as the track appeared to have dried up, big mistake. Wheels just kept on spinning, I would have had more grip using paper instead of rubber. :( Have to do it all again now. :(

I'm sad, my face is like this now. :(

It seems the paint chip rewards are better in this seasonal. First two events gave me Matte Black and Silver Chrome

Must have just been added then, it wasn't on my machine when I turned it off last night.

I hated the SRF. I wish it was optional.

What is SRF please?

(I am a learner)

it's unpredictable magic.

More accurately, it's how to make horrible drivers, competitive.
It's PD's way of allowing you to cheat. This is why all but the absolute worst drivers/hosts/rooms restrict the ability to use it. It's a joke, as are those who rely on it.

My god that 700PP race at Spa was crazy.

I picked my trusty 787B, and since the race started out at 0% surface water, I threw on the RS tires. Ironically, it started raining HARD and I couldn't find the pit lane for 2 laps while in 12th place. Finally found the pit entrance and got rain tires, then I got up to about 8th and the rain promptly went away. Still, I slowly started making my way up the field, then the rain went completely away and the rain tires started really showing their lack of traction. I was set up for a 4th place finish when the 1st, 2nd, 3rd guys pitted on lap 9/10 leaving me 1st with one guy close behind me! I managed to hold him off with my crappy rain tires for half a lap and won by .408 seconds :scared:

I really enyoyed this special seasonal events. A good challenge. I wish we have something like this every week or even Endurance seasonal races over 50-100 laps.. etc...

I used Audi R10 06 for Spa event. Switched later to full rain tyres, while some AI cars keept inters as the rain got heavier.
Honda Weider HSV for Suzuka. Didnt change my racing softs.
And Nissan GT-R Tuned 2012 (from GT academy 2012). Also didnt change tyres here

I won with these cars, also golded the C7 Prototype on the ring, but cant remember the time.... was lots of fun.

Thanks a lot.....i'm happy now....so i have time after my holidays :)

but it's really sick, i was so happy to go to the maledives, but this great events made me less happy....im sick, i need to stop playing gt5, haha

Suzuka started raining by lap 5 for me went to the end though on slick's even though there was 37% water out :)

With SRF on slicks are always faster (and lasts longer) than rain tyres or intermediates, even with 100% water on track. I did the Nürburgring 24H with SRF on and the only difference from 0% wet to 100% wet was 30 seconds slower lap times and the racing soft tyres lasting longer than the fuel.

My experience is a bit different. I was using the 787B on racing hards and when it started to rain on Spa I was dog slow and can't even accelerate out in a straight line. Then I pitted to intermediates and all was well, slashed a 2 minute deficit (made by spinning out at <100kph) and won by the end.

For a moment there I though the grip was set to 'real' but it seems like everyone else's experience was different.

At last, some longer races that you can settle into.👍
Maybe some 20-30 lap seasonal races in the future perhaps?:dopey:

I have been hoping for that for ages, probably more laps than that though as I quite enjoy endurance racing. :)

Does this mean that this event and all other seasonals prior to this will have double payout?

i.e. - Coming in first with a prize of 1 million will actually equal 2 million?

or the traditional login bonus is always at 200% during holiday's

I couldn't agree with you more. I tried it once just out of curiosity, felt like I was Superman, lol.

These new physics since (2.09) feel alot different , I remember using slicks at 100% with little difference with SRF off in the past but now there alot like the online lobby physics where slicks are usless by 40%

At SPA i used the Bentley started on slicks and made it up to 3rd but started to fall back really fast by lap 6 or 7 somehow I stayed out with 65% and pitted in 14th place for Wet tires and then went on to win the race.

Yes all previous seasonal payouts are now doubled. Its now possible to get 5.4 million in 7min 40s.

Don't forget guys, the UCD is now half price, and the prize money for the other seasonal events has now doubled!

Gran Turismo.com
In addition, rewards in all Seasonal Events during this period are doubled, and cars found in [Online Collector's Dealership] are at half price. We hope you'll take this opportunity to participate in the standard events as well, and pick up some nice cars for your garage!

Linky, linky!

I see that you're new here, so you have no idea who I am. I am possibly the biggest supporter of driving aids on this site, so no, it is not sarcasm.

If you like aids that's fine, I don't care, but there is absolutely no reason to FORCE people to use them if they don't want to, just as you don't want to be forced to not use them I'm sure.

Did the Spa 700PP race, was good fun. Used the Peugeot 908, just pushed up a little to meet the required PP level. I started on Racing Softs, making up practically all of the gap by the end of the third lap. Then I pitted, stuck on some Intermediates, and the rest was plain sailing really. That tactic seemed to work for me anyway.

Corvette time trial is excellent, good to have a stock car with no tuning TT finally 👍

And for people who use my tunes, I would like some feedback and suggestions 👍 good luck everyone

This has been happening in the license events since day one.:dunce:

Absolutely. You can use SRF or whatever in any seasonal/Apec already. Don't understand this. I don't use any aids, certainly not going to start now.
