I used a GT-R for Suzuka by lap 6 I had 14 of the cars passed easily and near to the 1st place car with about 15% water.

Ran a 1:57 in the dry and was down to 2:15 With 25% water by the end and lapped the last 2 cars because they pitted.

I thought for sure that I read in the description of these events that they were expert challenges. If thats the case, I must be a friggin' alien because I won them all easily. Appreciate the weather change and the length of each race, but come on. Expert? Really? At least the prizes are decent. Just have to go back with some underpowered cars for a challenge I guess.

Even if you could turn SRF off, or place a Racing Hard tyre restrictment, you could still measure your lead in minutes. Not too sure why it says an estimated 30 minutes to complete, when I'm sure I ran Suzuki in under 20. I don't think even the worst of drivers would take 10 minutes extra, and they definitely wouldn't be anywhere close to winning with that sort of time.

Struggling here...not to win, but to even find a car to race with.
Won Suzuka with no problem, I even enjoyed it very much. However, I can't seam to find a car for Nurburgring...

The game shows that my EVO IX RM is legible to enter, and yet, when I try to, it wont.
Any recommendations guys? What are you running with on this one? I would personally like a 4WD car with around 500PP.

I used the Mine's BNR34 Skyline. Very enjoyable race.

Long time reader of this forum, but don't often contribute... However I really felt the need in this case because I feel really disappointed.

In case any of this ever filters through to PD, if they're looking for feedback on the latest seasonals or something like that... why force SRF, what is the issue with a choice? Spa is a great circuit, especially with changeable weather - the race could do with being an extra 10 laps (or more) to try and get a bit of strategy into it - and penalties on is a very good move, they should be on in all races in my opinion; but SRF really spoilt it for me. Why can't it be turned off!

Ran it twice now, weather different both times, but just started with inters and ran all the way through without pitting and won easy. Stock 787B @ 700PP, so no big surprise it was straightforward I suppose.

Very sick seasonals! I'm glad about the rewards, the challenge level (not too hard, not too easy; just right!), the fact that they stay open til Jan. 9th, and the change ups in general!

I'll have to really work at the C7 Nurb TT. I got silver, but still, it's gonna take some work to really chop off the seconds necessary to get gold.

I tried and tried at Spa race, and I was pretty surprised at my results. Of course, I kept trying to race on Race Softs because I didn't know there was already surface water, and that it would definitely rain.

But when I slapped on intermediates, I was doing ok. I was using a 694PP 905HP ZR1 RM. Wasn't very hopeful about making the podium since there are cars that are well past the 700PP limit. I was swerving everywhere and missing turns since I'm not used to rain driving in the game all that much. I kept going though, just to get the experience so I could try again and be more successful. Around lap 7, I realized I had a chance to actually seal the deal! I was finally driving controlled laps, and kept a good pace. I managed 2nd after all my setbacks!

NOTES:
This is one of my favorite cars in the game. Although it has a little understeer in fast sections (because of no front downforce), the 4WD really helps in the more technical sections. I won this race by over 1min30sec, so you should have no trouble winning with this car. 👍

And just to let everyone know, I am always here to help out. If you want a car for this event, I can tune it. Just post on the thread and I will try to take care of it 👍

Pretty fun... My fav was 700PP Race cars. I ran Audi R8 '01 on Racing softs the whole way, with all aids off and no pit. At lap 4 I was up to 4th and I was passing the #1 player at end of lap 7 but then they just all pitted. I just kept going...lol Fastest lap was 2:13 I think. Anyways it was a good race for seasonal. I haven't played in like 6 months probably, maybe I'll get back into it again. Peace

For those looking for that "magic" tune, I can save you the trouble. You don't need a tune as I ran all 3 with the stock settings. These events are a joke. My grandaughter could win these....and she's only 2. I was really looking for something much more challenging. I guess, after I seen the forced aid, I should have known it was going to be an easy event. Even the gold time for thr TT was easy to achieve.

Yeah it was too easy. I didn't ram anyone and raced it like I would if I was really in the car but it was too easy. At least they put you in last place so you have to fight a little bit to get up front. Oh well.

My bad man, they were called a joke in this thread, and worse in others. But, I'm not asking you.

That was me, but if you think my comment was targeted at 8 year olds, then you as well, are a joke.

I'm discussing people like otakukid96 who can't drive, and instead of trying to get better(you don't need to play 24/7 to progress your skill, that argument fails), would rather exploit PD's generous 'cheat button' not so that they can have fun, but so that they can mindlessly drive around the track with an absolute disregard to proper driving etiquette and a complete disrespect to everyone else in the room as well as the nature of the game as a whole; who then comes onto a forum with a vendetta against the majority population of GT5 online racers who disallow the abomination that is SRF, and thinks that he can retaliate in some way, shape or form, none of which make any logical sense.

He's just a kid that got shunt online, more than likely because he entered a room were SRF was restricted, and rather than leave to find a room that allowed him to run his way, one of two likely outcomes occurred...

The first of which, is that he complained in a manner that was not only abrasive in it's pre-pubescent tone, but also in it's disrespectful form of telling another host how to run his room, while I'm sure he explained that SRF isn't a joke and whined until he was kicked, but not until after he was publicly ridiculed and humiliated by the entire room. The second scenario, is that Mr. SRF thought he was all that, and without understanding how SRF had been masking his flaws, actually began a race, whereupon he abruptly met face to face with a reality check, in which I again assume, he complained that the room was being run incorrectly, threw a temper-tantrum then proceeded to get kicked, or left in a childish manner.

I just started this, took the castrol TOMS SUPRA 97 right out of dealer and straight to the suzuka and won with about a 24 second lead.

At one point in the beginning I was like 38 some odd seconds behind. So for awhile I didnt even pay attention to how far behind I was. Accidently spun off the track once when the rain was making it slimey though, and got a shortcut penalty

I also didnt pit, just tried to slow down in the rain a bit, and I still made pretty good gains.

Deko Wolf-GTPT
Will it count as a race car though? Must test that.

Forgot about those. They are, after all, TUNED cars. Will give that a try. Thanks! 👍

I think it must do, given it has race in the name, would be the logical argument.

Also, aside from the GT Academy cars, if you look in Praino's thread, he's put up a couple of 600PP tunes over the past day or so for the Nurburgring event so that's help if anyone's struggling.

The car doesn't have to be a 'tuner car' or 'tuned car' (whatever that is?)... I used the premium C7 Vette upgraded with fully customisable suspension/gears/LSD... so why don't you use a regular GTR with mods to take it up to 600pps?

You just made my day Adrenalin. That my friend, was an epic read.

First of all, I do know proper driving etiquette. Don't just assume that because a person doesn't use the same settings as you means that they don't do anything. Second, I do not have any hatred for those who don't allow it, I have a hatred with the thought process of 'anyone who uses driving aids is a noob and should be hated'. Third, I don't raise fusses when I join a room that doesn't allow driving aids. I just leave the room without a word. Fourth, I know I suck at driving, and I don't pretend I don't suck. The reason this all started was because some people couldn't stand the fact that someone else has a differing opinion, and couldn't ignore it for some reason. Sure, I may have come off sort of whiny, but you guys could have just ignored me.

Fun races even with the SRF crap. Must be Christmas or something.
The weather-changes in these races seems to be scripted, so we all get exactly the same amount of rain at the same time (for those of you who thought you were unlucky - you're not, you're just lousy ;-)).
Don't forget to download your free Corvette from the store guys.
After doing the time trial I think I can say that the Corvette is to a Ferrari as a rapist is to Casanova? Up for an argument anyone? ;-)

The Corvette is no Ferrari, nor does it cost as much. However, not being able to adjust suspension settings makes it hard to compare to anything. A Ferrari with stock settings is a different car.
