I won Nurb in an S2000 GT1 '04, max downforce on RH tires, but otherwise stock. Rain varied from 8% up to 42% at the end. No need for rain tires with the SRF on ... the car only started sliding badly at the end when the rain got up to 35% or so. Fun, but I wish I could have turned the cheat off.

I quite like the penalty system. Although it's a bit frustrating to get a penalty when you've had an off that has cost you time anyway, it encourages clean driving and puts a stop to blatant corner-cutting and things like the "phone trick" in the Honda one.

Just had the one of the best 'chase the rabbit' experiences - Ferrari SP1 on the Nurb, RH/Inters tires, cockpit view only - talk about eyes on stalks!!! Won by......not much!! What a car!!👍

The AI drives like they're insane, and they aren't affected by the penalty system, should they be put in a situation where they should have been.

They're mental, that's for sure. I try to stay out of their way. I got one maybe two barging penalties in the whole thing. In a race where it's hard to win without a bit of barging it would be a frustration but here I don't mind. There are actually penalties for the AI but unfortunately they are never in the wrong.

Just did the Spa race. Did it in my Ford GT MkIV on Inters. The AI are ridiculously slow in the rain, I'd got to first by about lap 7/8 with a couple of poor laps thrown in as well.

SRF is just annoying as the car is unnaturally controllable. :odd:

Rubbish! I making a pass on the inside of the second-to-last corner of Spa and the AI cut me off. Despite barely touching him i got penalised. As i see it, the AI should have left room.

But of course i could sipstream them and, due to their early braking, smash them really hard and incur no penalty whatsoever! What's with that?!

Sounds like some of those "annoying" penalties can be the result of a dive bomb attempt. Probably the habit of bashing the AI is now penalized. Best to outbrake or draft the idiots.

I haven't got any penaltys from hitting the ai yet, I treat them like punching bags just like I normally would, I rear ended them, side swiped them almost every pass, ran them off the track. The ai is terribly slow though, on nurb I was coming up on them so fast it was like they were standing still. On my first nurb race I came up on 10th place so fast around one of the high speed curves that I couldn't slow down in time and ended up rear ending him so hard it spun me out.

For the record: I was out-braking, not dive-bombing.

From what I've experienced, ramming from behind doesn't create a penalty, but lightly sideswiping will, and it doesn't seem to matter who initiates contact.

I did a lot of sideswiping on nurb because they were holding me up so much, I haven't got a ramming penalty yet.

I've never had a problem with the AI myself. I just treat them as the mental cases they are. I take my time with them and just wait for the best oppertunity to make a clean pass. There is more than enough time in these races for you to be patient and make clean passes. I usually wait until exiting a turn or a long enough straight to make a clean pass. I try to make it a habit of not even so much as trade paint with the AI. It makes for good practice for when/if I do go back to racing online.

Just got done with 2/4 races.

Nurburgring : Lamborghini Murcielago SV
Suzuka : Loctite NSX
C7 time trial: 8:23 bronze after a million runs
Any advice for this?

Note: the NUR race is close to impossible if the s2000 gti is the lead car, restart until the HKS Evo is the lead car. This will make it 10x easier.

Watch one of the top 10 runs, it will give you a better idea of the lines, and the limits of the car. Avoid spinning out by controlling the throttle out of the corners too. What's your first sector time? Should be around 50 seconds for a gold.

I had the s2000 gti in the lead and I won, I was using the 08 Audi RS6 avant (the wagon) and made a ton of mistakes and still won by 10 seconds.

i am a bit dissapointed they dont have the pp bonus, suzuka and spa were overly easy

having a little trouble on SPA. any car....spec recommended?

Look at my tune on page 7. I tuned cars for all the events 👍 easy win. Stick to softs the whole way and I won by over 1min30sec

I did Spa yesterday. First time Ive driven the track because of downloading issues.
I used the Peugeot 908 HDi, stock standard on intermediates. It was 29% wet when I started and started raining really hard almost immediately. The track got to 98% wet by lap 7 but I just stayed out, taking it east on the inters. Finished 1st with a 1min 17sec lead and lapped number 16 and 15 in the race too. This was with a few corner cutting penalties and 2 spin offs.
Might restrict the car and try again but with no PP bonus not really worth it.

First post so be gentle!!

I finally managed to do Suzuka in the Nomad Diablo, after playing around with the setup since I found it really tricky in the wet. I then stumbled upon a Suzuka race whereby it started raining on lap 4 instead of 3 and didn't get wetter than 30%, actually stopping raining on lap 8. (Previously it had always started raining on lap 3 and got up to 57% wet). Managed to win by 12 seconds staying on on Soft slicks.

Completed Spa first (well second time after a hasty restart to change the gearing) in a 787B on rain tyres. So much faster than the other cars as the race wore on, even overtaking 3 at one corner (pouhon?) in the wet! :dopey: not sure how much I won by since it stopped counting, maybe 40+ seconds!?

Doesn't spa look beautiful when the rain stops and the sun comes out at the end of the race???

I've not attempted the other race yet but will probably try it in my GTR first.

I've only managed bronze in the time trial so far too....

Welcome!👍

I like the idea of using the Diablo - think I'll give that a go. I've noticed some small variations in the weather too. Just completed the Spa with the Merc Sauber C9 - easy win - nearly lapped the last place car....Inters all the way. Also just completed Nurb in Aston Vantage - stayed in RS all the way, though it was slippy halfway through lap 3. Great race in cock-pit view, plenty of mistakes, won by 4 seconds!

Edit: just won the Nurb in a Legacy Touring WagonGT-B 96 by a few seconds - terrible car but did the job!

Suzuka was weird, I was driving really bad, but when everyone pitted, things got easy. 1st.
I thought Spa was really hard, but it wasn't. Took my Bentley Speed 8, and I even lapped cars...
The Ring was bad. Used a 458, started with inters, but the rain was not enough and my tyres were destroyed after lap 1.

And for people who use my tunes, I would like some feedback and suggestions 👍 good luck everyone

Its good setup and tuned. Like you said shouldnt have trouble during rain. Won easily. Thanks......!

The weather seems to vary alot in these races. I first attempted spa on softs, surface water started at 30% and by the 2nd lap was up to 58%, almost impossible to drive on softs, so I quit and switched to intermediates. The surface water started at 30% but only hit a high of 35% this time, it rained off and on throughout the race, always staying around 30%, then it stopped raining the last 3 laps and was down to 20% by the finish and they were gaining on me because I had the wrong tires. I thought the weather would keep repeating itself unless you actually exited back to the seasonal menu then re entered the course.
