Next Gen systems in 2005

EA's CEO said to Reuters that the company expects next gen systems from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo in 2005.

In Japan 2005 they might launch, but the rest of the world is a different story.
MS is really hot to get out of the gates first though after getting trounced 5:1 by Sony this console generation. We might see an Xbox2 out in 2005.

I saw an article somewher that had info along the lines of that. We must remeber that PS2 has better games than Xbox. The box woulda been trounced anyways.

In theory perhaps, but in reality the PS2 has the most and the best games because it sold the most systems. Gaming companies tend to ally themselves with the console that they can make the most money on. If the Xbox had taken off then MS wouldn't have to shell out big beans for it's exclusives as developers would be knocking it's doors down.

More like a regular old fan. I still want an Xbox, and love playing it at my friends. I just think that PS2 would have done well regardless. I love my PS2 more. That and I dont have a spare $200 sitting around.

Agreed. the controller makes it for me.
If i am not comfortable even holding the pad, how the hell am i supposed to enjoy the game?

Actually, I've enjoyed the XBox S controllers quite a bit. I like them more than the Dualshock 2 in some aspects.

Microsoft's second attempt at a game console is going to absolutely blow the market away. Hopefully Sony will have something worth a damn to compete with, otherwise we'll see Microsoft dominating yet another market ... damnit.

I like what I've heard about Sony making the PS2 Hard Drive kit into a media station thing. That's really cool. I think if Sony can combine as much into a new Playstation unit as possible, it'll be so much more accepted and prefered over anyone else. That is, if there are multiple configurations. You don't want to force people into purchasing a more expensive piece of equipement if all they wish to do is play games.
