Vice city and San Andreas where prequels to GTA3, but there is no connection to GTA 1 and 2 ( I'm pretty sure) so if the next GTA is called GTA 4 then I don't think it will have any connections to all the other ones. But a long time ago, before San Andreas came out, I remember someone telling me the names planned for the next GTA's were San Andreas, Tokyo and I forget the other one. I not sure if Tokyo was next, but I'll bet you that's where the next one is going to take place. Because they have ways of connecting the story line to the previous games, like Woozie ( If he's Japanese), and maybe other people. Wouldn't it be cool to play in a modernized Tokyo, with all their hi-tech sh**. They could put those vehicle with the huge tv's on the side advertising stuff. It would be wicket for killing sprees cause of the huge population density.

I doubt they'll leave America at all in the 3D GTA series anytime soon. Especially after GTA: London 1969 failed miserably.

Why not? Connecting things to the previous series generates continuing sales of the other games, because people will be curious as to the connection, and most will probably want to play it through in timeline-order. Think about it. I know a lot of people that have only just started playing GTA with San Andreas, and have gone back and bought GTA 3 and Vice City. Plus, there was barely any sort of storyline to GTA 1 and 2, and it was a whole different game frankly.

The GTA games will always link to each other. It gives the storylines more depth and that is an ongoing appeal of the GTA series. If GTA 4 has no link to the previous games what-so-ever, I'll eat my own face.

As for it being an add-on of GTA 3, I'm not sure really, it was just a thought. Who knows? It could be Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas all connected together, and possibly expanded. How about Carcer City? I bet that has something to do with the next GTA. They always have some reference to it on the radio stations.

Rockstar made a really crappy vehicle combat game set in Carcer City a while ago. Apperently the hype set up by GTA didn't have any effect.

I doubt it'll be in Liberty City I mean they've used that for GTA III and Liberty City stories just recently (and the original GTA if you want to go back that far). I dunno where it'll be, I wouldn't mind if it was in Liberty but I somehow think it won't be. Carcer is probably where it will be IMO, but I don't know what real life city that's based off.

I just realised that's where they set Manhunt. Still, I'd say it'd have some connection.

GTA is an RPG.
San Andreas may have had some RPG elements, like improving your skills, but I wouldn't classify it as an RPG at all.

I like the idea of seasonal weather. It doesn't have to follow a regular cycle, but wouldn't it be cool if it could snow and a layer of snow build up on the ground? They could have different levels of severity, with a light covering of snow right up to heavy snow with snowdrifts. Imagine trying to drive on snowy roads or having the roads unusable for normal vehicles, but much easier with a snowplough or a vehicle with high clearance and suitable wheels, like the Monster.

I always wanted floods. have the sea level rise a few metres or something lol that would be fun. Also road works.

First of all, GTA: Bogota and GTA: Tokyo are almost definitely no for me. For legal reasons, Rockstar have never used real place names, or even real car names, so I doubt they'll start now. I think part of the enjoyment of the GTA games is learning your way around the made-up city. GTA: Sin City? Maybe, but still highly doubtful to be the title of the next GTA. I still believe the next game will consist of multiple states, rather than just the one found in San Andreas. As for GTA 5 and GTA 6, what happened to GTA 4? Contrary to popular belief, GTA 4 was not GTA: Vice City or GTA: San Andreas or a combination of the two. GTA 4 is still a registered internet domain, which tells us that it's coming soon.

I still believe that GTA 4 is the next GTA.

It wouldn't make any sense to call it GTA4. It's going to be the sixth game in the series. Just because Vice City and San Andreas, weren't called GTA4 and GTA5, doesn't mean that they're not the fourth and fifth games in the series.

That's be like calling the next Die Hard movie, "Die Hard 3", because the actual 3rd film was called "Die Hard: With A Vengeance"

Its been done before:
GTA1
GTA2
GTA: London
GTA 3

I think that was the order of them, anyway here is a connection for you, in VC on KCHAT BJ Smith says that he had a football match with San Andreas, cant remember who won.

And there is a gun I would like to see in the next GTA, the Sig Sauer P226. I hate R* for choosing the Desert Eagle over it as the top end handgun.

That screen on a website which says its a screen from the next GTA running on PS3 is fake.

Rockstar said on one website saying it was fake.

I don't think they should go back to using numbers. The way their using names is better. But I thought that gta3, Vc, SanAn were like a trilogy. So the next game would be called gta4. But I think they should stick to names instead like Grand Theft Auto New Pork.

Got GTA: London 1969?

I agree that the next one will be called GTA4.

Probably not with Claude as the main character (the guy from GTA2 and GTA3, maybe the origional GTA too but I can't remember). Because if they do something like that they'll have to give him a personality etc. and it will screw with the whole "I never talk" thing that he's had from the begining.

It will probably just have some random new character.

I would agree with the first person wrote. to have a crib with your stuff you want in it like you should go to store or just rob it and but like in your car and drive it to your place. and ya there should be a big grage wher you put your cars. like a show room. and i wish that you can buy cars. and they should putn like sport cars only. and put a Supra and GTR and many more ferrair and anm many more.

And the place since is some where in Europe they should make like more than 3 cities. From Europe. I Would like to see England, Paris, Rome, and many more i guess even Moscoc i guess a lot of citires. and they should make that you can take a girl to your house to your bedroom than xxx. than just iny our car thats nothing more action better the game.

Half decent spelling and grammer is nice 👍 ... I mean Moscoc? That is too good! :dopey:

I guess it's logical that that GTA3 and SA are tied together not a seperate game considering GTA3's main character made an apperance in SA...

There were several minor characters from both VC and GTA3 as well.

Wasn't London a 3rd party expansion?
Claude wasn't the guy in GTA1 or 2. In the first one you got to pick from a variety of mugshots (okay, one of them might have been him), and the character in the second was completly faceless (IIRC).

I'm betting the new guy is either latino or asian.

Claude was the main character in GTA2, his name was Claude Speed.

And London was by Rockstar and it was its own game, not an expansion.

Blake

Hmm, so it is. I would argue that GTA2 doesn't take place in the same reality as the other ones. The other GTAs attempt some semblance of reality, but GTA2 looks like a completely artificial time and place.
I really liked that place, I wouldn't mind seeing it redone for the next GTA.

Yeah, it's set "Three weeks in the future". I don't believe the cities have names either, just Downtown sector, Residential sector and Industrial sector. I really liked the layout and feel of those areas, especially the Industrial sector with the Russians and Zaibatsu (and those crazy Hare Krishnas). The first one was also good, I loved the Loonies and Yakuza! :dopey:

Fake. Confirmed fake by Rockstar, and it looks completely fake too.

I thoughta some stuff to put in the next GTA. 💡
1. The ability to throw rocks.
2. The ability to climb ladders & trees. The other day I was fartin` around in L.S. at the house that Denise is rescued from in the Burning Desire mission. So I climed on the roof of it & noticed a huge tree beside the house but couldn`t get in it, & was pissed.
3. Everything`s destructibile. :trouble:
4. A targeting system for the Rhino tank. That gun turret mounted on it seems to have a mind of it`s own.
5. A top secret, nearly impenetrible place like the military base in Vice City or Area 69 in S.A. Only much bigger and almost impossible to infiltrate. But once ya do, there`s access to weapons, cars, flying saucers or something worthwhile.
6. An F1 car or some ridiculously fast car that sticks to the road like glue.
7. More cars, more peds, more traffic, more more MORE!

I can`t think of anything else right now.

Yeah, you should have been able to climb ladders. it was it was annoying when you fell in the water around easter basin airport and had to swim for a few mintues to find a boat even though there are ladders right there. Driv3r had it.

I would also like to customize my fighting move more instead of just the three sets. I would like to be able kick someone in the face, then kick them in the nuts, poke them in the eye, headlock them, give them a noogie and finish them off by snapping their neck.

Driv3r sucked ass though. :P
I think the only reason they didn't let you use ladders is their fanatical obsession with keeping you out of airports untill you have a pilot's licence. Which is silly, because you can just jump over the guard post at the main entrance.

A more developed fight system would be great. I already love just going down to the train station and picking fights, if it was actually a well developed system it would be even better. I'm imagning a sort of Double Dragon system; lots of different moves that can be aquired individually, but with really simple button combos (vs. an actual fighting game, 'cause I suck at those :D).

I forgot about the real use of the name London in GTA: London 1969. But still, GTA III is the mark of a sort of "new beginning" in the GTA series, and is very separated from the other games. I still don't think they'll separate the next game too much by using real place names, etc. But who knows?

I also really agree with the "climbing ladders and other objects" aspect. I really didn't understand why it wasn't added ... possibly not enough space ... but surely they could fit it in somehow, even if it meant wiping some other non-important aspect out. If they don't want you to get in somewhere, they should just make it so you can't, by stopping jumping off cars, climbing in, etc. Or even develop a system like in the Police Lockups where you have to sneak in or you gain 3 stars.

I also wish for the ability to break necks or something similar during stealth missions like in True Crimes (suck of a game).

And on top of that, if you take a close look you can tell what they've done simply. It's a real photo of a city/place, and those people are real. They dummed down the graphics on a few people, and repeated, resized and re-coloured those same people all over the place. They've also used real GTA modelled cars and post-rendered them to make them look better graphically.

Well, I hope the next one has a big update on the graphics engine. Reviewers I've read keep saying its outdated and needs a nice updating.

And how about tons of licensed vehicles...Anything from Chevy Vans and such to Mack Semis.

But, I'd actualy like to see a car carrier that works realistically, some little things like said, and a nice graphics update.
