All I can say is... wow. Wade Phillips OUT. Texans fans who dislike Gary Kubiak want him gone. Wouldn't it be strange if Kubiak IS ousted and pick up Wade Phillips? And once again as part of ESPN's "Always Hate Houston" protocol, PTI's "Big Finish" gave a nod in asking if the Chargers are a playoff threat after beating my Texans.

Elsewhere... I'd sure like to know what all happened in that Dolphins/Ravens game. Heard a lot of rough stuff including one player getting spit on. I know that was a fierce game with two smashmouth teams, but that was crazy!

McClain is a punk thug.

"I didn't no spit in heeyus fayce."

Ah, no.. Their fine at QB, Romo's better than 3/4 of the QBs in the league. He'll never be a superstar but he's fine. This team has alot worse things wrong with it. Mac laid it out above. Jerruh thinks he can lead a team from the owner's box and he can't. An NFL owner cannot be a team leader. Players derive leadership on the field. Until he recognizes that the way he has this organization structured is dysfunctional, it will only be a profit center for him and not a winner.

I agree JJ just needs to be the owner. It kind o freminds me of George Steinbrenner. As long as he was in charge the Yankees were not going to win the World Series but when he was suspended they had the chance to rebuild the team and the next thing you know they win a bunch of titles. When he finally came back he let his baseball guys do their thing and he was more behind the scenes. He stopped meddling that what JJ needs to do step back and just be the owner. But I don't think he'll be able to do that unfortunately.

So how was the Steelers/Bengals game last night? I saw the first quarter but I went to bed after that because I was just exhausted. I see by the final score the Bengals made a bit of a comeback, what happened?

GOD DAMN DOLPHINS!!!!!!!

Sometimes I hate being a Dolphins fan.

I normally delete double-posts, but that's pretty much what it's like being a Dolphin fan, year after year after...*sigh*.

I hope the Texans don't pick him up. I'm a fan of Kubiak. For the most part he has consistently made the team better through the years. That all culminated with our first winning record of 9-7 last year. They have a legitimate chance of playoffs this year. Not all of ESPN is hating on the Texans, Boomer from ESPN said at the beginning of this season that they were a Super Bowl team. They are getting much nicer to our team.

Go Texans!

Let me explain a bit. When I say "Always Hate Houston," every time I see the Texans on ESPN, it's usually when they show the Texans getting beat on plays, talk of certain teams doing better at the expense of my Texans, and stuff like that. Rarely do I see any sort of praise for the Texans (or any other Houston team) when I usually watch ESPN. That's why I always call ESPN the "Always Hate Houston" network.

I understood what you meant and I've recognized the trend too. I live in Houston and have my whole life. I love to see some of our better players get some national attention (positive attention). It's halfway through the season and Sunday is the start of the rest of the division games for the Texans. We're 1-1 in it and have gotten out of the Colts' series with a win. I'm optimistic in the game against the Jaguars.

Around the rest of the league I expect the Cowboys, under new coaching, to get stomped by a Giants team that is on a roll. SNF should be great with the 2 best teams in the league going at it. I think the Steelers will edge it out on the Patriots. The Steelers' D has been most impressive this season and with the Patriots losing to the Browns I'm not so sure. The Vikings are always fun to keep an eye on too with all the hoopla about Childress.

Speaking of Childress....

Vikings' Grievances

Damn, I though Farve would get him fired. Apparently, Childress is doing a good job of it himself.

ps. hey now, "won't lay down like Dallas"? Now that's just mean.

I saw those comments on SportsCenter earlier. The Dallas one definitely made me giggle. I like how its a newspaper in Chicago and they play the Bears on Sunday. I'll take it as being geographically convenient for the players.

On a different note, I do respect Mike Tirico and company in talking about the Texans during our MNF games. I really like the Patriots at Steelers game. If it was Pittsburgh vs. New England to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, who would you take?

Henne got benched. Things should be interesting with Penny back in the game. Maybe this will finally expose Dan Henning.

Yes. ESPN has been slowly warming up to the Texans doing well. That's a difficult question, but I'm going to have to stick with the Steelers. They're looking very good this year. It's hard to go against my man Wes Welker, but I loath Tom Brady...and the Patriots D is garbage this year around.

I'm looking forward to see Pennington back with the Dolphins, too.

Thoughts on tonight's game? I'm going with the Ravens as Joe Flacco is doing well and of course their defense is formidable.

Oh dear god, Joe Theisman is color analyst for the Ravens/Falcons game tonight on NFL Channel!! Folks, pack a lunch! Let the absurd comparisons and drunken topics begin.

edit: All's good......Alex Flannigan is the sideline reporter. NFL channel female reporters are very competent, very.

edit: That was hilarious! Theisman and Mat Millen argued the whole game. Bob Papa refereed when he could. Good game overall, what is wrong with the Ravens 'D? Or are the Falcons that good?

I am G**damn, mother:f:censored:ing mad! The Texans had a chance to force overtime after the Jaguars did a Hail Mary. We batted the ball, but a Jaguar was there to catch the ball in the endzone... bringing us to 4-5, and beating my Texans. PAT was made, and we ended up losing 31-24. Now watch Sportscenter will just rub in how fail-tastic my Texans are. This is a damned shame. I'm pissed. Now we're basically a lock to lose at the Jets next week.

Texans fans on Facebook are upset that we lost another one. Almost like a loss is a loss regardless of how much and how we lose. That's true, but you're not going to win every damned game! It's like some people take losing like it's habitual or not supposed to happen. I know we're in a funk to make the playoffs, but this was more like a disappointing loss. But you know most people- we need to run the table to be happy seems like. This is one reason why I don't like pro sports often times. Like... you're a pro, so there is no reason why you should lose ANY game.

Either bad luck or unfortunate timing... we lose again. This s:censored: is ridiculous. Hope you other teams aren't losing and failing and getting called out on Facebook and ESPN like my Texans are about to be. Now if you'll excuse me, I have either stuff to break or things to curse out at.

Ladies and gentlemen, the noodle has broken. Poor Pennington. That's his career.

Poor poor Texas. But hey! Buffalo won a game! Against Detroit, but still!

And I do wish somebody, anybody, on the Minnesota offense could catch a ball. Or at the very least not fall down when the ball is coming right to you and there is a defender right behind you.

Fixed.

Detroit is bad, but not as bad as they were. I do wish Percy Harvin would be healthy. I'm not a fan of the Vikings or Brett Favre, but Harvin has a lot of talent.

This Cowboys @ Giants game is interesting.

This Cowboys @ Giants game is interesting.

There's 2 1/2 mins left and I still think they could lose. Dallas 'D' showed up for sure; Pick 6, fumble recovery, 4th down stop (4th and 1).

edit: Dallas picks off Eli, again. Games over. Nice job Dallas! (for a change)

edit: Quick, someone from the Cowboys needs to write their name on the wall in the locker room. (look it up) :)

Ha. I heard about that. Dallas put up a front against one of the best teams in the NFC. They played nicely. Dez Bryant showed up, Miles Austin showed up to get some points and like you said their D did the trick.

Is this a sign of things to come from Jason Garrett? He seemed to get more out of his impact players than Wade Phillips did. I still don't like Dallas though, go Houston!

Still backbreaking the Texans' loss was. I tried to stay away from as many highlight shows and radio phone-in shows as possible so that people don't rub it in or anything. The Facebook fan page for the Jacksonville Jaguars had some good reactions. Most people just being like "Play of the Year." You ALWAYS hate it when one of the best plays of the year happens against YOUR team. Why do you think I always cringe when ESPN continually replays North Carolina State's upset of Houston in the 1983 National Championship game? I'm like, "damn it, enough! Yeah, N.C. State with a great win 27 years ago, but do you have to keep prostituting this to me (as a UH Cougars' fan)?"

Remaining Texans schedule... at Jets (next Sunday), Titans, at Eagles (Thursday Night, 12/5/2010), Ravens (Monday Night, 12/11/2010), at Titans, at Broncos, and Jaguars. Maybe we should have gotten a softer schedule as opposed to New Orleans' 27th-ranked schedule. Texans are not the best, but we're not the worst. This is NOT the Texans team that finished 2-14 in what... 2006? I'm starting to believe that coaching is really the problem in addition to a lack of execution and consistency. Wouldn't be surprised if some coaching moves are made. We may even need greater depth on the defensive end to compliment a new coaching set.

We may be heading towards 4-6 after the Jets (unless we have a performance similar to our at Redskins comeback victory) and almost have to run the table to assure any playoff hopes. Maybe the truest statement to fall on- "stranger things have happened."

Wow....saw that final play in the Texans game. Brutal luck! While I agree that the Texans don't get much attention, and it seems to be the norm to ignore them, I would caution against feeling disrespected John. Be glad that the Texans aren't a public team. I would love to be a fan of an 'up-and-comer' franchise, where people just critique your play on the field. It's almost criminal the amount TV time is wasted criticizing Dallas' ownership, players, coaches, fans for things that have nothing to do with football. From JJ being too involved, spending too much money, having too much power in the League, coaches being lapdogs, quarterbacks being overrated (who isn't at the QB position) players being undesciplined, etc, etc..... Hell if Farve wasn't around, Dallas would be nonstop on ESPN, "epic failure, most overrated team". The media waits for Dallas to fail and over analyzes it all.

I sometimes won't even say I'm a Cowboys fan because of the blow-back I get from others who automatically stereotype me. Yeah, our owner is a loud-mouth, thinks he knows it all, can't keep out of his own way, brings on the stereo-type, etc... but I would guess half the teams in the league would love to have him as an owner, if it meant they would have a stadium, TV rights, fan-base, payroll and passion he brings (even if it is sometimes misguided).

The Texans' arrow is pointing up, they just need some defense. They can score with anyone but the problem is that almost anyone can score with them. Kubiac is a good coach. Wouldn't it be crazy if Wade Phillups gets hired to run the defense? Denver V.2

As far as not listening to sports-talk.....damn it hurts, but you know part of me is glad that we lost early. Now, we can just get normal TV / Radio coverage like the rest of the league. Every season, it's the "countdown to Dallas failure", after Thanksgiving it becomes non stop about failures in Dec, Jan, etc......

gets old.

You're right. I saw the deal on "Pardon the Interruption" looking back on the play. It was calmly just about how we lost in backbreaking fashion. It's still a loss, but that's a terrible way to lose. I mean, it's like losing a basketball game on a half-court shot (remember Cleveland State in 2008, Syracuse?). We basically needed every win we can get, and we just get dealt a bad hand late.

Donovan McNabb got himself an extension of 5 years worth $78M USD. So...

Eagles at Redskins TONIGHT! You got the birds from Philly or the 'Skins in Washington, D.C. (Landover, MD, USA to be exact) winning tonight?

Seahawks had a nice win over the Cards in AZ. Just as in the last encounter, Mike Williams pulled through big for us. Great amount of catches, impressive amount of yards. He must like the Card secondary or something. Home the late game injury to Hastlebeck's hand isn't too serious. I mean, he did come back in the game, but you don't wanna see your star QB with a cast on.

Thanks Michael Vick. You won me my fantasy matchup. That score was insane.

Michael Vick's performance was nothing short of amazing. I believe in second chances, so that game made me happy. Too bad he's not playing for Kansas City.
