yes u can use elite in easy mode

from aids to elite -> handling

from easy to hard --> ai

you can mix all the possibility every time during the career.

Not sure.

Im positive I've read somewhere that difficulty is dynamic and changes dependent on how you finish.

Elite and various aids can be altered but no difficulty settings.

As far as I know. They also said no tire wear though.....

Remember Shift 1. That had difficulty settings for AI, and it also tried to adapt the AI performance to you race to race. It's probably exactly the same.

Shift 1 gave you options to make it as hard/challenging or as easy as you wanted. I am sure Shift 2 will be the same. :)

Not every gamer can afford the same time on a game and not everyone has the same skill. A good game should provide options to change the difficulty so that anyone can have have fun and the game is challenging without becoming frustratingly hard and time-consuming or ridiculously easy! 👍

In Shift you could:
  • Change the AI difficulty (easy, medium, hard),
  • Enable steering assist (mild or heavy) or disable it completely,
  • Enable or disable driving assists (like auto/manual, traction control, abs, driving-line) even mid-race, 👍
  • Enable or disable mechanical and/or visual damage! 👍

Also when you upgraded your car the AI cars were upgraded too so they always provided a challenge. If they were too fast or too slow you could change their difficulty at any time.

diffuculty is 100% sure there are trophies like shift 1 seprated from handling model.

- Sports License: Won 25 Career events on Easy difficulty or higher
- Competition License: Won 50 Career events on Medium difficulty or higher
- Race License: Won 75 events on hard difficulty

If you continue to repost while ignoring the AUP and the staff you will find your ability to post here at GT Planet ends rather suddenly.

The staff do not like being ignored and we don't like the AUP to be broken.

Start to use good basic grammar and stop with the text speak.

Fail to do so one more time and you will be given a few days off to think about things.

"Is that an original Mini at 7:48, it looks it to me."

Whoa!!! I had no idea! The other day I was thinking that it would be awesome if they had it. They actually put it in! Sweetness!

They talked about the chase mod getting into shift2 but i'm unsure if that video is from them playing it or the original mod for shift1..

no, it's not from shift 1. It's shift 2 for sure.

Tudor says on the live chat that endurance races go up to 50 laps and about 3 hours...

Sweet.

great, 3 hours it's OK and with this AI seems to be a great challange.. not 24h madness.

For the most part they're answering lame questions.

I don't know if mine have been answered already but honestly....they've answered a few of the questions at least twice already. :grumpy:

Yeah, they're filtering pretty heavily. I put in ones about tyre wear and online penalties for cutting/ramming, and as expected they went straight past them.

I've asked whether or not camber is dynamic, about the open-wheel cars, and community-based competitions. Passed right by them and instead answer asinine questions regarding track cutting.

what I gathered from the live Q&A:

  • NO plans for a demo at this time (pre or post release)
  • Limited edition has 3 cars and ~40 events extra
  • No custom soundtrack, and no music when driving.
  • console versions @720p (stated in a question about photo mode)
  • online lobbies cannot limit by handling mode (example elite), but it can be restricted by camera mode.
  • Drift cars get extra power boost when under 500hp, however the physics model in both modes is now identical (unlike shift 1).
  • Youtube function, even on consoles
  • mirroring now in livery editor
  • no online drifting
  • leans less to the arcade than the first one--at least according to the live q&a.
  • increased corner cutting penalties based on difficulty level. Lap times do not count, dq possible after a few infractions. Online gets 5 sec speed limitation instead.

Anybody hear about FFB or the overall racing wheel experience? How about rubberbanding? I jumped in almost an hour late.

online penalties for cutting/ramming

they said there are online penalties. They mentioned a penalty that slows you down for 5 seconds.

They didn't talk about this. I asked this same question 3 or 4 times butit got ignored.

[*]online lobbies cannot limit by handling mode (example elite), but it can be restricted by camera mode.

what I really want to know is whether it's possible to limit online lobbies by power, or weight. I asked but no answer.

They also mention that even though it does not appear, agressive/precision driving from shift1 is still monitored "under the hood" to do the match making online.

About physics while drifting:
Please note the gamepad filtering is purely to compensate for the lack of Force Feed Back.. Steering wheel users get a raw, unfiltered experience. As with real life, it takes some practice to master.

My opinion on the soundtrack: the exhaust notes are good enough :)

New video, the one they promised a week or two ago of tommy milner driving:

Is anyone else worried about this video? This is a professional driver and he spends most of the lap off the driving line, missing apexes etc. I hope the handling model isn't that sloppy, and that he was just mucking around...

I do like the sound though, and the graphics look good

console versions @720p

No Full HD for consoles? In 2011? Great, just great. With all its many flaws, GT5 is 1080p. Is there a rational, technical, politically correct explanation for taking us gamers a couple of years back in terms of display resolution or are we just not worth it?

PS: For the record, 1080p utilizes 2¼ more pixels than 720p.

Yeah, if GT5 were actually 1080 (1920) - instead of "1080" (1280) - that would be totally correct :)

GT5 runs at 1.5x the pixel count of 1280x720. And as soon as you put something involving transparency on screen it drops down to SNES style resolutions (86400 pixels). Not to mention the other stuff they give up to (try and) hit 1280x1080 @ "60fps" :)

To be honest, 30fps @ 720p doesnt bother me, look at the detail the game has, I would rather have 30fps 720p and more cool and noticable details like shift 2 has.

F12010 was 30fps 720p wasn't it? That game was beautiful to look at with a lot of detail on every track.

What the version for the Bugatti video? PS3 X360? I don't know if it's youtube but the frame rate doesn't seems to be rock solid. The cars handle pretty well by the way.
@1.45 way too many rubber, I know it's a cool feature but they don't need to exagerate it. I hope we can deactivate music in replays this time!

I am sure it was the XBox 360 version, agreed about the music, hopefully we can disable the feature.

As for the framerate i noticed pieces here and there, but hopefully it is confined to just the replay.
