All standard car races?
I'm game for impromptu practice sessions setup in the format of the races but with about half as many laps. I can't practice manufacturer races unless I'm online as I have some of these cars and they're tunes. It would be a bit of a shock to practice with one car and end up in something a little unfamiliar.
Anyone game?
Note: this won't be _organized_ per se, just friendly meets to get to know the car and the track. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday shortly before the race would be best I think.
Nice track choices, only problem is I haven't got them 2 prize cars for races 2 & 3, can I still race or do I need to race like mad to unlock them?![]()
Race like mad.
The 911GT3 RSR is an early reward car, so that shouldn't be any trouble. The DBR9 may take a little while longer, but you should still be able to get it.
Again nice choice of tracks-two of my favourite and a have to know quickly- and cars -why can't we have them in R.L.-Manny.
Jamie c when you run a manefacturer race you drive the car choosen by the host no matter if you unlocked them already or not so don't worry.👍
I hope nobody takes this personally, keep in mind no offense intended.
For the last few months I have spent a lot of time tuning my cars, and I don't want to keep leaving them in the garage all the time.
Personally i can't stand driving a car that cannot be tuned, tuning and tweeking is what i do.
I realise manufacturer races present a level playing field and thats fine, if i had known in advance that the league was going in this direction, I would not have joined.
I have really enjoyed racing with you all, but I don't want to race with shackles on anymore.
This coming weekends event will be my last with the league .
I'M going back to racing my cars my way.
as previously expressed NO OFFENSE INTENDED TO ANYONE.

It would be a great loss of NITRO backing off. So Don't do it. This is just first season out of many more to comeI don't think that league is taking any direction at all, manufactures car cause less problems. And the only reason that we using less our personal cars is because there is so many racers during the race, I've never had any lag problems with less then 5 players at the track using Mixed Cars, that means their own livery and tunes.
There is just to many players, in my opinion 5 should be maximum, but unfortunately this would generate more organization problems.
It's much better racing full grid without any problems, if manufactures cars gives this opportunity then I'm OK with it. More groups is not the solution.
WTF is up with some people, I was rammed of the track about 6 times! Twice by Kemp when I cleanly overtook him, if thats the way its going to be count me out from now on!
Thanks to the ones who raced cleanly!
Same as me, I will wait until I can get pass someone, not just ram them off. I can get a better race from the Public rooms. I think some are not using Pro mode either.
That's it for me, thank you all for the races, catch you another time.
Thank you all for these crazy races! First time I had so good races playing Shift online...
Really sorry for that! There is one bump I don't remember, maybe I haven't see you.... Sometimes I m so concentraded on having a good line that I forget that I m not alone on track and don't look to split times to know where are the other carsI m gulty.
For the second bump, I remember it very well!It happened at Brands Hatch on lap 3. You were between 1 or 2 sec behind me. I broke to late in turn 2 and knew that with the time I had lost you will be very close to me. If you remember I stayed on the left of track when going out of turn 2 cause I wanted to let you place in case your car was on my side! As I use a wheel I can't look left or right. So looked at the split times to know where your car was and cause of this I broke a bit late for turn 3, went a bit wide and bumped you....
Believe me or not, I just was trying not to touch. And then, yes I didn't wait you (I usually do it but not this time so shame on me), in the moment I said me that was just a race incident. Sorry it was an error! I m guilty again...
I think people are just new to this and need more experience after all it was there 1st race for some, i just think people need to give each other more room.
There are loads of methods to keeping racing clean for example if i am playing alone i practice as Meany different lines as i possibly can weather they get me round the track fast as hell or slow as hell, and this is for one simple reason.
When i am racing online i find that i dont always have my best line so now by practicing different lines it opens up more option for clean over taking on corners.
So in light of this issue i thought i would run an idea past you and get some feed back which depending on your feed back could save me making a wasted thread.
Ok here it is...............THE GTP DRIVING SCHOOL THREAD
.
i know, i know, but bear with me by doing this we all could use each other to better our driving for example a technique used by touring car drivers called snaking, this involves a pack of guys all bumper to bumper the front man leads and the rest follow, now in doing this you can practice getting close and applying maximum pressure at the same time as keeping it safe.also i will add that the front man in the pack in restricted to a specific top speed to keep the pack together.
we can share and lean new techniques from each other for example (and this will sound big headed) i am quite good at applying pressure for long amounts of time while keeping things clean and practicing this skill has helped me gain Meany positions its also a handy tool if you much it up and need to get back up front.
then we can go out on track and put it all into practice help each other tune our skills.
but this is just meany of the things we could discuss in the thread.
this way i think we can see a hole new standard of online racing.
So tell me what you think is this a daft idea ???
Please Ozr you should reconsider your words. You're maybe a clean racer (I think all racers here are or at least try to be clean!) but remember (that was at Brands hatch too) you overtook me taking the inside in a right turn and kicked me of the track but didn't say nothing in the mic when it happened (don't know if you have or not a mic...) cause I said me that it was surely unintentional so I went back to track and back to work! If you had not written the post quoted, I would have never talked about that..., but you did. And yes, I m in pro mode (with abs). And no, you will not have better races in Public lobbies (where you can be intentionaly bumped at every corner! great!)
then we can go out on track and put it all into practice help each other tune our skills.
but this is just meany of the things we could discuss in the thread.

Unfortunately I haven't made many Shift races yet due to getting to grips with my new wheel. One thing I will say however is that I have raced Kemp many times before on prologue and I can vouch for the fact that he is a VERY clean and fair racer and always a good sport. In my limited experience I believe the collsion physics in Shift are far more 'hit and miss' than in GT5P and accidents can happen without the party concerned knowing. I would be very careful about calling drivers out without discussing the incidents with them privately first to find out all the facts, especially when they are well known and well respected competitors in this forum.
Great idea for the driving school HOG, I certainly still struggle to get to grips with Shift at times having spent so long playing GT 👍
...maybe the full damage option should be enforced because it would not harm little paint trading but would pennalize indiscriminated rear banging.:
