Is this car good enough in GT6 to keep up with the other LMP's? the only reason im asking is because its 200k cheaper than all the others so yeah thanks!

The R89C '89 is more than just fine :). In GT5 it is the best LMP/group C car. It`s one of the most powerfull vehicles in that group and within the top of that group it`s by far the most stable in terms of handling because of the super steady acceleration.

The Minolta is the fastest but she`s a handful and when tensions run high mistakes are easily made. The Sauber is slightly slower than the Minolta but handles a tiny bit better. The R92CP simply has too much hp and grip will fade on more technical tracks.

I tested pretty much all of those cars in GT5 and if the differences between those cars are the same in GT6 as they are in GT5 than the R89C '89 is the way to go. Perfect for constantly improving your lap times. There is nothing about the car that puts you off. The engine sounds a bit boring if you will, but boring calms you down, letting you concentrate on the task at hand.

The Audi R8 Race car '01 is the runner up. It has far less hp than the top dogs mentioned earlier but somehow (magic perhaps?) the car can easily compete. It is a little less grippy in comparison to the R89C, because of that slight drifting it may seem you`re going faster. That is why racing that car is more hectic.

I drove the ring 24h track more than 100 times, testing the LMP/group C cars. And more than 50 times on other tracks.

I don't have all the LMPs in GT6 at the moment (I have them in GT5), but right now, my favorite is the Peugeot 905, more than 1000HP, only 750Kg of weight and it handles really good. I haven't used the R92CP too much in GT6, but I think that 1200HP is too much power. I also think that the R89C is more stable, but I prefer the R92CP's design.

This is a great car in my opinion. Seeing as it is the road going car it will qualify for multiple events and potentially be dominant. I'm not sure how off the road going version is from the race car is in reality. I believe the changes are only minor just for homologation to qualify for competition.

I bought both the R89C and the R92CP, but have used only the latter in GT6. Have used it fairly extensively on the Nurb 24h course, and it's a beast, both in speed and handling. It's a handful, bouncing over each bump in the road, though I'm sure a proper tuning would help. Used it to win the IA World GT; not easy, but a formidable option.

Wait what? The R89C counts as a road car? Are you sure you don't mean the R390?

In terms of LMPs and Group Cs. It's been said on medium and slow tracks that the Pescarolo C60 Hybride is fastest. I haven't tried it, but I know that the Peugeot 905 is a very safe choice and a fast one too. Even the R18 TDI is quite safe and grippy.

I found the R89 to be the pocket rocket of all the LMP category cars. It's very nimble and can run with the fastest of the bunch. It sucks up really well in the draft, and it's caught me off guard a few times running up on traffic.

The Audi R8 is my favorite of the LMPs, it does not have the power or top speed of some of the others but it makes up for it with handling, fuel economy and tire wear. The runners up are the 787B and the Speed 8

I did the ring 24h track 2 times in the last (championship) event before the super series. The Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd kicked the asses of both the Mercedes Sauber and the Toyota Minolta. It was on third place and it passed the Sauber and after that the Minolta. And i mean the Minolta was not even nearby in the end. This was on both races. Could be the AI driver was more skilled than the others but i think the car was the reason.

I remember the Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd was also a solid ride in GT5 so i`m going to get this car here in GT6 also!

This was my LMP choice, still a solid motor. Lots of fun on the nordshliefe with no aids.

I did the last enduro event yesterday in the super series. It was on the Le Mans track. With both the Nissan R89C and the Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd i got into fuel and tyres problems.

With the Audi R8 Race car '01 i never gor into fuel problems and it`s very easy on the tyres to. Sure, it lacks power and the handling is not as good as that of the R89C but it`s perfect for this event.

The AI in the Peugeot 905 also did well. Have to get that one to :)

The Mercedes Sauber.
It's a group C. Group C's were on par with the F1 cars of their day, so if you are looking for raw pace and nothing else a Group C is the way to go.

Sorry, but i don`t understand your comment to my reaction earlier. What does it have to do with it?

The Pescarolo C60 Courage is a great car too. A little underpowered compared to the other monsters, but a lot easier on fuel and tyre wear, makes up for it :)

There is a reason why IRL the R8 dominated at Lemans, It lost only once to a Speed 8 which ironically is basically a R8 in disguise ;) It used a modified R8 engine, the former R8 driver and had the team behind it which had won the previous 3 years using an R8.

The R8 is good pretty much everywhere and IRL it dominated not only Lemans but the whole series.

You said the R89C was an LMP, whereas it's a Group C, and the rest was a general answer to the OP.

The Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd has pretty much the same hp/torque/weight (stock) as the R89C but the C60 is faster. Especially when accelerating. Beware of ramps though, you`ll be flying with the C60.

I did some more testing.

905B: amazing grip, better than the R89C. Lower top speed but kick ass high rev engine sound. A joy to drive.

787B Stealth: the engine sounds less barfing than the 787 in GT5 wich is good. Or my memory fails me which it tends to do more and more often these days. Corners great but not as well as the 905B. Less grippy than the R89C. It gives me great pleasure to drive this thing.

The Sauber. Fastest but why on earth does this machine steer like a boat? A shame.

The Escudo. Use this car on tracks with no long straights and lots of difficult corners. It will beat the Sauber and Minolta i`m sure. 4WD! It feels like cheating when i use this car. Lowwww top speed. Just over 300 km/h. I thought i used this car back in GT1 to win all the races which i could not with my other cars. Hence the 'cheat' car. If i`m wrong about this thing being in GT1 then i like to refer to the (leaking) memory thing.

The Escudo is in GT2 and has no headlights. ;)

Oh, and how the DeltaWing and Rocket compare to those two cars? :P
