No. My friend who also has a 240 wants to install one, and I plan on getting one by summer. Should I get it done a mechanic?
That's all good if you have some kind of automotive or mechanical knowledge. However if you have never done it before. A lot can go wrong, and it will. I know, I have done a swap before. It's just pure ignorance to say that everyone should do it themselves. Some people just do not have the knowledge to do such a project. It takes time to gain that knowledge, and if you have the time and patience to learn, then by all means do it, but otherwise, have someone help, preferably a mechanic.Originally posted by RHS13
BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
you all suck.
Swap the motor yourself, then you know how to install it, you know where everything is, you know how it all fits together. That way you aren't going back to a mechanic to get raped everytime some little thing goes wrong. There is plenty of online free literature on the swap, and there are lots of message boards you can go to for quality help(this NOT being one of them).
