Total disaster for me in this one.
Found a new bug in this game. My car woudnt pit, it just went thru pits with out changing tyres, had to pit 4 times. :banghead:

Tony fast as usual...

I don't think I was 2 laps down.

In the end I was chasing Micccc5 who had really worn tires. When the time limit expired I was on his tail and Tony was not in between us.

Tony is on a roll, well done mate :sly:

Sorry John, will be fixed.

I almost ran out off petrol. I don't have a clue what i was thinking but at the 2nd stop I put the fuel back to 0 :dunce: Good job I noticed it and pitted with 5 or 6 laps remaining.

LOL...not the best pit strategy for Motul Nismo Racing then :dunce:

lol yea the boss wasn't pleased! Both us had problems, but i hear your whole crew was fined :D

You doing any racing tonight?

Any racing going on today guys? I've been iRacing for the past week or two and need to get back on GT5 before I get too rusty :dopey:

Btw, would any of you be interested in doing some racing with LMP1 cars (Peugeot 908, Audi R15, etc.)? The Super GT cars are great but it would be nice to try something new and possibly more challenging (although I've never tried the LMP cars out yet) 👍

Hey B, i'll be racing today. Besides Nissman's championship i haven't race at all too these past few weeks.

LMP's are great, i've tried them quite a few times and they are a real challenge. I was thinking of starting a championship with them but there are a few things that throw me off. Tire wear is the main problem. It seems to be too high with any r tire if you're pushing over 70%. This means a 40 lap race(rather short one for these beasts) would require 5-6 pit stops, or even more. Not too realistic. Apart from that,i don't think there are many drivers able to handle an LMP through a long distance race, because of lack of skill or most importantly patience. Anyway we can try them out together,i'd like to hear your thoughts.

Hey Tony, I'll try and hop online within the next two hours or so 👍

The tire wear issue with the LMP cars is unfortunate. It sounds like things are a bit off in GT5 (as usual), considering that IRL these cars can go for a couple of hours on end without changing tires, at a very good clip as well.

I'm still quite eager to try these beast out once I get some cash gathered though. I definitely want a good challenge after spending some time with the Williams F1 car @ Spa in iRacing

See ya in a few.

Yes sure guys we can try LMP cars. Aldo I dont have one but I'll try my best to buy one as soon as possible and we can try.

I set up a room for a few races before I go to work.

Congratz to my Tmate Rutt for the win. Awesome driving. 👍
22 laps of heavy rain in Suzuka is quite tough I have to say. It was fun tho, had a nice fight with Peltonen. Found some pace in second part of race, if I would get my driving together sooner could be better. Still happy with the result.

Wp guys, I would love to do a wet race!

Good to see this thread. I´m running a SuperGT series on another forum, and people were debating on what is a good lap at Suzuka. My PB with the Motul Autech is 1´53´6, with a full tank and 502 hp of power. (our limit).

So if the record (52´1) is with 532hp and an almost empty tank, i think i´m halfway there.

I did play some GT Academy, both this time and last year, and i´m usually 0´3 or so slower than Timeattack, so i guess my laptimes are somewhat in the line of what you guys are getting.

What´s the difference betweek full tank and empty tank? Our races are short, so i never got to see it yet. One second maybe?

I´ll try to join you guys sometime for some practice laps 👍

Was fun to race in this, I really struggled with the wet conditions and using a DS3 though, definitely losing a huge chunk of time by not being able to control the throttle accurately. Just glad I didn't get lapped actually, you guys are crazy fast :P

Also back end of the car was sliding all over the place, couldn't find a setup to work properly - maybe someone wouldn't mind sharing some wet setups?

Lap time 52.1 is from last season with stock GTR 518hp. Times this season are about 1 sec faster with 532hp. I'm expecting a 1.50.xxx this season from the fastest drivers in our event. But 53.6 with 502hp is still a great lap i think. 👍

Difference is the car is lighter with empty tank of course. From my testing I noticed its about 1 sec faster and tyre wear is also lower with an empty tank.

We had a nervuos start, lots of disconections. The grid messed up, not the best start to a race.
But anyway we started, me in the pole. Rutter soon passed me and we pull up a quite a gap before first stop in 16 lap. In the pits me and Rutt lost a lot. My car was standind still for a bout 5 sec. I came out behind Rutter and close behind Luckaffe. I then coudnt stay with Rutt, made some minor mistakes. Luck cought me also and passed me. I was in third for a while. I expected tony, he pass me soon but I was able to stay with him for about 7-8 laps. Than came second stops, the top 3 by then had a big lead so I had no action in the last stint, just driving home in 4th.
Happy with result and great to see a new winner this season. Congratulations Luck!!

Hope we have less issues next race and I think a new Q system is in order.

Grats to Peltonen.👍

Really weird though that the laptimes aren´t that much
better with a 620PP GT-R compared to a 609...

EDIT: Tony drove with a 609 PP GT-R -> 1´31.927 in Euro GT500 practice.Full tank.

LAPTIMES EGT500

In fact in Qualifying i drove 1:31.3xx with 4-5 laps of fuel burnt and 609pp. I believe this laptime is more fairly comparable with Pelt's pole position time @ Nissman's championship.

I´m really confuced at the moment....
I thought that already 4PP could mean at least 0.3 seconds....

Could it really be a difference, when EGT500 is driven with
low grip reduction?

Every track has it's own specific characteristics regarding PP's, how they translate into power or aero(or weight, but i don't think anybody uses ballast on SGT cars.), and then how they translate into laptimes.

I remember running low aero on the rear for EuroGT to have some more power (around 525 hp if i remember correct) to match the rest of the field on straights. I also tweaked my setup in order to plant the rear a bit more because of the less rear aero and came up with significantly better times than full aero produced. Given that fact, i think that running a 532 hp car with full aero can't be more than 3-4 tenths faster than my EuroGT car, as straight line speed matters much more than rear aero if you are able to handle a twichy tail.

As for the Low reduction of grip against Real, i don't know for a fact if one is faster than the other. I would assume that on Tokyo, a track with no ''edge of track'' ,there should be no difference at all in level of grip, but i might be wrong, given that GT often has some paradox features.

What do You think Guys?

What would be better, HP limits or PP limits?
If we think of a 2 Divisions Euro Serie?
