Simulation mode doesn't just simulate races. It simulates you buying your first car for a limited amount of money and going up through the ranks becoming one of the best racers. If you have enough time to play a game where all races expect for the first 10 are 70+ laps, you defently need to get out more. If you really feel the need to race 100 laps per race, maybe you should be limited to arcade mode and you can set your amount of laps.
If you don't have the time don't play the game? That is one of the most stupid things ive ever heard. You might aswell say if you dont have the time, just **** your pants instead of using a toilet.![]()

I wouldn't say that all races should be enduros. I just find 3 lap races utterly retarded. What the hell does 3 laps prove? If you are so busy that you can't race a 10 lap race, then you probably don't have time for video games period.
Also, I think the main reason enduros get boring in GT3 is because of piss-poor AI. If that were fixed, I doubt anybody would complain about 2 hour races.

those of us who have one, but can tell the ball and chain that im playing video games for the next hour or two, will will enjoy the enduros.
i dont see the point of racing a race less than 10 laps. for beginners, yes. but a short race proves what? that youve got your launch down? please. thats not racing. if the race is so short that there is no opportunity for the competion, be it AI or a person, to catch up, then its a long drag race, not a race.
at every GT party ive been to, while the short races were ok (and by short i mean five laps or so) the long ones (10 laps +) were where it was happening. you could sense the intensity climbing, the drama was unfolding lap by lap as someone inched closer and closer to the leader, as battles for third and fourth waged back and forth, as someone tried desperately to make up for that first lap miscalculation. theres no drama in five laps.
may as well be fast forwarding through a movie to see the end.

There's no reason why the traditional two and three lap races should not be augmented by a few endurance races. they got it right in GT3... why change it

Hi all - just found this forum.
I've been told that GT4 won't have any endurance races and most will be restricted to 3 laps.
I'm a bit upset about this as I loved the longer races in GT3. Apparently a lot of people complained about endurance races last time around and that they didn't want to do a 2 hour race just to be able to complete the game.
This is very disappointing as the whole point of gran turismo is that it is supposed to cater for everyone!
How do other people feel about no endurance races in GT4?
I'd be interested in your opinions.

No competition in short races? The racing in a short race is alot closer then a long race, in a short race there is no room for mistake and it is alot closer then a 15 lap race, and we are not talking about "GT party's" we are talking about the game it self, please do quote who ever it was in this thread who mentioned I-Link or multiplayer to have anything to do with Sim mode and the AI? Also quoting your self does not count. Now just say this in your head a few times so you don't forget it..."sim mode, not multiplayer"..."sim mode, not multiplayer"
Of course the racing at your gt partys are closer, YOU ARE RACING AGAINST HIGHER SKILL THAN GT'S AI. You cant tell me you dont have a closer race against the AI in a 5 lap race then you would a 15 lap race.
