What about a video wiki? Uploaded via the share button. That might work from a "what a nice planet I've found" perspective.

Dan
Thanks for the info. Have they explained how long it takes before the sentinels start hunting you down and the time it takes for your "wanted level" to go away? I imagine that if I'm blasting away at mineral deposits, sentinels will begin to notice me and attack. However, I've heard they only pursue you if you're destroying the land with explosives, not just going for resource clusters.

Yeah I remember from an early video, that "over mining" a planet would attract sentinels, and Shaun has said a few times that any actions that disrupt the natural order and harmony of the planet and it's native creatures would attract unwanted attention from the sentinels. I don't think they've shown a video of someone evading the wanted level, so I have no idea how long it takes to lose it.

IIRC it was said in one video that people who play as traders might find a specific trade route that is very profitable, and might choose to stay there a while to make a lot of money. This to me sounds like different resources might have different values in different systems. It will also depend on your standing with different races as to what you can sell resources to them for.

I think I remember reading early on that certain resources would be more valuable in different systems where they were less common.
I'd love to see a guide to the different classes of ship so I know what to aim and look for when I play.

I would just use the guide for controls if there is no like tutorial in game when you start.
Also hope they have a horn for the ship.

I'd prefer not to read any guides or anything like that, personally. I think a part of the enjoyment of the game will be discovering how everything works.

I'm just a little concerned that I'll spend 12hrs playing the game to buy a ship from "Alien Species X" and find the class is totally unsuited to what I want. But I don't know how it'll all pan out. While I did pre-order the collector's edition, I too am thinking I won't use the codes to get a ship straight away.

Only thing I would see them doing for the codes for the ship is that they just have one for all. Then you have to get the ship.
From what I know from like Gamestop here is that you will get one code for the bonuses.

Edit: For those who think that Digital version would be better than disc for planets well, it's no different.
"He clarified that the planets themselves are not just loaded from discs and are instead generated on the spot as the player decides to visit them. He then revealed that once a player leaves, the planet being left behind is also discarded, though he did note that visiting the planet again would, in effect, regenerate it."

I think it will be fairly obvious what each species' specialty is. I could be wrong, but I'd imagine a warrior species would be found doing warriory things, like fighting, and a science based species would be found doing sciency things (very scientific terms I'm using there ).

I'm not sure, but I won't mind either way, as I think the exploring and discovering will be half the fun. It'll make the universe feel really alien and give a true feeling of alone-ness (another scientific term :D).

Yeah, but when you're just starting out will you know "Species X" is a warrior race while "Species Y" is a science and exploration bunch?

Well I'm not sure mate. Like I said, you could likely learn what they all specialise in relatively easily. Another thing is their ships will be more suited to them, so it shouldn't be hard to pick ships based on what you need. Of course, this is all assuming that when you're looking at ships to buy, you can see their stats, like what weapons they have, how much inventory space they have, and how good their equipment is (scanners, shields). These stats, if you can view them before buying, which surely you could, would give you an idea of A) which ship best suits your intended play style, and B) what each race is suited to.

@Paulie @Mike_grpA
I would also hope that every like area is the same or within reason, Not like every planet has it's own and there is like 18 tillion or something species.

Ohh hundreds if not thousands of races would be great. I highly doubt it will be like that though, more like they are spread around the outskirts of the Galaxy / Universe. I'd expect the further in you go towards the centre then the different races will become more sparsely situated.

I'd also expect a limited number of humanoid like races which can talk and help with your own personal journey. As for none humanoid species then I'd expect every planet to have different animals and plants based on what Shaun and Hello Games have shown.

This is going to be such a great game for solo exploration. I personally hope to be just a vagabond going from star system to star system with minimal needs. Something like a Space Buddhist.

There is no doubt it's a pretty game. Hello Games have used impressive tech first to make a game and the resulting art and visuals have been an extension of this and it's stunning.

New video is up and I have to say my hype train has now hit full steam ahead.

To have such amazing Sci-Fi talent involved gives me a warm tingly feeling.

I have pre ordered the special edition just for the comics. Can't wait to see them.

Gotta ask, @Sprite - Are you getting yourself a copy of the soundtrack on vinyl?

I don't really need to ask, do I? :P

Silly question :sly:

Have just seen this Timelapse of 24h in 1 minute from NMS.

Delayed or not, I would wait until official word from like sony or hellogames.
If it has been there should be news tomorrow on it and or something, or they are going to show it at E3 and then give the new release date afterwards.

As I was digging around everything I have been seeing has been "rumors" as a gamestop employee hoax. (Which from some people off of IGN/Reddit/Facebook) said it has happened before.
Also with the creator Sean also was denying any delay that could come a few months back.

Game in the UK are still showing 24 of June so I'm not sure if the recent info is correct.

As long as the game is in a finished, stable state and released within the next six months, I'm happy.
