No money from Sony for deleting Other OS

Here's an article (in german sry) stating the official Statement of Sony concerning the other os.

For non Germans: Sony will not pay back ps3 users due to the removal of other OS. this is only the decision of the retrailer.
Sony never adverise The Other OS feature neither on the package box, neither in the manual. It stats it (Sony) has the right to modify or remove the specs or product-design whenever it wants without need of notice.

This means even amazon will rethink it refund strategie because theier is no legal obligation. (or a judge have to decide what jurisdiction is taken in this case).

Surly the statement of Sony can be found in english but i'm lazy and you all know how to google.

Like other stated, this is soly the fault of geohot because he could not shut up his dirty mounth. If he really wanted to just see the coding or do it for himself, he just could have shut up. If he wanted to play pirrated games, he could have gone with the xbox or the ipad. Damn you Geohot

George Hotz is actually anti-piracy (a point he reinforces in pretty much every blog entry he makes), so I think you've missed the point somewhat...

Like GTjazza, I also don't think Sony is obligated to dish out money to those that are miffed they lost otherOS, I haven't heard of any other company paying its customers when it took a secondary feature away from its system... and what about us Slim owners? We never had otherOS. Can we sue Sony for not even being given the option of having otherOS?

I think anyone that is pissed at Sony for nuking the otherOS feature need to get over it and use their computer for doing computer-y stuff and leave the games to the PS3... after all, the PS3 was primarily designed to be a games console, not a computer. It still fulfils that job (being a games console) with aplomb... if Sony did something that nerfed the gaming capability of the machine THEN yes, having a whinge would be justified. But not in this situation.
