So its maintenance time. 12pm here so prime game time and everything is unavailable. Even the tests or livery editor wont work offline. Also one cant save progression offline? Potential game crasher there...

It’s ABSURD this policy, I played like 30 min since 5 pm. It’s nonsense!!! With no net you can’t play you can’t save. I finish a race and I can’t save my progress. **** the demo I will start the game on the 18th.

Yeah, not being able to save when offline is a bit silly. I'm guessing they've done this to prevent save games from being modified by hackers which in turn prevents the cheating online that we had in GT5 and 6. So it's good in a way but I think people will end up losing progress quite often because of this. Imagine finishing a long endurance race and the server being down at that moment, without you having any time to wait for it to come back online. You'd have to that endurance race all over again. Just isn't the best way to do it, even if it makes the online experience better.
