No New Seasonal Theory

Seasonals are a joke. Expert seasonals are the only challenge. The rest have no thought, originality, nor present a challenge. I think they are just an excuse to try out different cars. Very lame. I want a new format altogether, not another lame event.

The worst case scenario would be PD saying "Okay we are done with GT5."

Thats the best case, as it means they are 100% staffing GT6 and getting it out quick to rescue a failure.

Me too! :)

Most of these whiners simply do not realize how good they got it. I bought GT5 in December, and still enjoy the heck out of it!!

Any body remember growing up before there where video games?

I do.
Isn't that a bit like asking do you remember the days before heroin came out?
It's not going to stop the knife from sticking in you by the addict.

👍👍👍
As much as I would like to finish and get trophies and cars, I am very tired of all the menu's, que's, ticks, and semi lame races that get under my skin. Please, just push the do-over button and get GT6 out in a redemption move, or have a major overhaul, make it playable all over again.

I mean they had a prologue, then a brownlogue, why not a finaleogue and finish the trilogy.

I agree, imo the series has gotten really stale. I hope PD can swallow their pride, and take on board the features that other devs have brought to the genre ie. interesting career mode, more online options and leaderboards etc,

It looks great (mostly), and the physics are up there, but the game part of Gt5 is mediocre at best, by adding more content it will just become a bigger mediocrity. So onwards and upwards PD, hire some decent AI coders (for the love of God!), and game designers, and make GT6 the mac daddy of console racing sims once again!

I'm ok with agreeing on your "disagree proposal" 👍 :)

But I'm with you 100% on the b-spec and level thing. What in the world is that about? At least when they revealed the remote races, it started to make a tiny little bit of sense, but not that much. I guess I'll never come to really "like" it, I just tolerate the stand-alone mode just like one can grow accustomed to a new scar one gets on his body.
As I said to a british guy I've played with online back in January: GT5 is an awsome game, but not sure if I'm going to play it as long as I played GT4 (2 years straight).

Can't argue with any of that, i'm with you 100%.

I played GT4 to death, my PS2 gave up the ghost late last year, i'm going to get another one and start playing it again.

5 had/has the potential to be an awesome game, but i think PD are going about it all wrong and throwing seasonal events at us is their way of trying to make us happy, fact of the matter is-i dunno about other people-but i am getting bored with seasonals, (with the exception of the first SE's and the expert one recently), it's the same thing over and over, just different cars and the same tracks. i think it's just a matter of time before everyone feels the same.
I want game content (not just events). i thought when i bought 5 that i would get 4 on steroids :(🤬

That's all I use them for. Actually, I've even given up on that - having started with GT in GT5, I've been exploring GT3, GT1 and now GT2. And my they have some great tracks!

So how about some more tracks, PD? No new ones (London, Cape Ring, SS7, oh dear!). Just a few you've had in most of the earlier games:

Midland Raceway
Apricot Hill
Seattle
Test Track

And if you're feeling nice a few others that appeared in at least one:

El Capitan
Red Rock speedway
Grindelwald
Original Rome circuit
Tahiti road
SS11

It can't be THAT difficult, can it?

Perhaps they did throw two seasonals out together so close to each other, because they're moving from their current headquarters to new location?

yeah...

Seasonals are crap only money and XP maker, but fun is only at the expert seasonals the regulare are for 1-2 year old kids or monkeys

fun is when im happy after a race, happy to won it... BUT not when i run there 100 times for 1 Car

Seasonals (and a few remaining golds required) are the only thing keeping me from the "what game shall I get into next?" internal monologue.

I hedged a little by buying Dirt3 for the PC (so I can play when the TV isn't available) but that was a bad move, as the overagressive copy protection means it won't run on my 6 month old high end PC.

PS you can see the activity on this messageboard is dying off considerably as well. Maybe GT5 really has had its day.

I hope GT6 will be released on PS3.
I bought this PS3 for GT5(P at the time) and if it weren't for a few other great PS-only games and the ability to play Blu-ray I would have felt pretty screwed. Nonetheless I have some fun with GT5 :)
I am not going to buy the next PS untill all possible competitors for GT (mainly Forza 5,6,7? Shift 3) have been released. If the physics in Shift and Forza are close enough to GT6 I'll buy the next MS console. Unless ofcourse GT6 is very very good, but I am not yet convinced it will be.
In my opinion they should ditch at least half of the cars, make sure some recent cars as well as cars everybody wants are in the game, maybe put some more famous tracks in there and make sure the AI is capable of putting up a fight. Basically, they should do everything shift 2 has but with better physics :)
I just fear it is going to be the same as GT5, but with a whole free roam world in which you have to drive by the rules....

edit: Sorry, very off topic

Thanks for calling me a monkey, mate. Have you beaten Le Sarthe without cutting corners in a stock Enzo on SS yet? Or the Ring in a TVR V8S1 on SH?

So correct me please, there lots of you who want to pay another 70+ Euros for another GT game, that could be still years away.

I play GT5 still yes its bad in place,s but its still good instant fun.

Shift 2 as better feel with its story line & Free addons for the PC that is,

Its going to be a big ask for GT6 to be any better than GT5 unless its a total rebuild from the ground up.

I would sooner they used the update system to add or try new ideas out with GT5 or even a GT5.5 update at some point.

this way PD could use the GT 5 platform instead off selling another pro-log type Demo.

I still think we will see a big update or even a new addon pack just before Christmas 2011.

This give them plenty of time to update some of the more popular SD cars to Prem content & maybe add some of the missing tracks for the older GT games.

Even allowing for the problem after the Quake.

Thats my thoughts

Ever since the major earthquake and the events that followed I consider every little GT5 update as a gift and I really respect them for keeping up while the country is facing some serious enviromental problems. Tokyo may not be badly affected but I'm afraid that we haven't seen the worst of the nuclear accident.

If you ask me, PD has to understand this isn't 2005 anymore. You can't just release something on the store shelves and say "Well, thats that." and dust off your hands of it and move onto your next project. DLC by popular demand is mandatory for any great video game today, don't get me wrong I love seasonals but it's not the same as the opportunity to buy new cars or track on brand new tracks ( I discount the ones used in our seasonals on Eifel and what not, those are not new tracks ) or new features.

They havent given up on it. Kaz admitted after it was released that the game was unfinished and he was going to keep working on it and releasing updates until it was finished. IMO there isnt really a point on releasing DLC into an unfinished game, it'd be like landing a 747 on a half tar, half dirt runway, It just wouldnt work so well. I agree, DLC would be a great addition, but lets let them finish the game first aye.

I just hope Kaz doesn't let his artistic eccentricity blind him from completing the game. The saying goes all artists are eccentric after all, I think at this rate Kaz has decided GT5 will never be finished at all.

Lambob
= Break. Summertime. Vacation. Office relocation. Unwinding. They will come back with lots of goodies.

I doubt it.

He needs to get it together and finish it now, the game is almost a year old and will be destined for the bargain bin by the time its done then!

I think they spent way too much time on things we didnt need like the photo editor instead of just focusing on the game. They could have added the photo stuff later. I dont know why it takes them years to produce these games when other developers can pump them out every year. Also, why did they need to put out the prologue-an unfinished game, and then GT5 as an unfinished game?

At the rate they put out GT games now, GT6 wont be out until 2020.

GT5 will be done and dusted by this years platinum version release. From then on it's GT6 all the way.
