How come when I play Flash movies or see them on the web, I can never hear the sound?

And yes, I do have my speakers on and the volume up loud enough to hear.

Download the latest version of Flash, which is version 6. Also, go to Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Audio > select your sound card under Default Device and not "windows preferred device".

Done and done. Still no audio on websites. Stupid onboard sound crap.

I don't know what to say. It's probably the onboard sound ****. Invest is a good sound card, like a Sound Blaster Audigy. They are cheap now, about $80. But, before you buy one, try searching for your problem on Google. Type in "no sound in flash movies" or something like it and click on the Groups tab.

I'll have a look on Google. I want a new sound card but that is $80 American. For a Sound Blaster Audigy here, it's probably going to be $160. I'm saving up for another stick of 256mb DDR ram which is going to cost $190. I hate Australia sometimes...

Did you check if your PC supports DDR ram, because you will feel pretty stupid if it doesn't.

Hey if you post the model number, I can probably find out for myself, it should be on a little sticker below the CD-Rom drives.

It does support DDR ram because the computer bloke we get our computer fixed through said mine had DDR in it (I got him to put my GeForce 4 in for me). Well, that's what I think he said.

Which little sticker? The one next to the front USBs or the shiny sicker on the side that has Windows 2000 Professional 1-2CPU IBM Corportation written on it?

The one that is next to the usb ports, it should have the model number and serial number on the front.

My desk PC looks exactly the same as yours but mine is a P3 733mhz jobbie.
