I have seen best record in suzuka normal full circuit, is 1:58..that is impossible with the gti gvt, i have tried with that car btw i play with controller, manual gears, i managed only 2:06, no way that difference, i am not making any mistakes at all aswell.

The 1:58.4 was done by TRL Lightning who is widely considered one of, if not the best player on GT Sport.

As ridiculous as the time is, it's definitely entirely possible. You should be able to save a lot of time on a 2:06 by really nailing the correct braking points and gear choices for each corner. Lightning takes smooth driving to another level. He can carry so much speed through turns by being perfectly smooth on every input.

The fact that you play on a controller is a hindrance. I also play on a controller and as fast as you think you may be on a controller, the wheel lends itself to smoother inputs and is therefore the better input method.

Then it s not even a contest vs a wheel...

It is entirely possible to be competitive on a controller. Mthomas has proven that by competing at the highest level in FIA races with a controller.

I wouldn't say 'its no contest' but a wheel user would typically have an advantage. Don't feel as though you have to get a wheel to be competitive or have fun on this game. Lightning is so fast such that most wheel users are stumped by some of his times.

There are lots of fast pad drivers out there. Hate to break it to you, but 2.06 is pretty slow. Maybe you could upload a replay of your best lap replay of you really want help to improve. Not making any mistakes doesn’t mean you’re taking the fastest lines, braking as late as you can and shaving of tenths here and there with optimum corner exit speed. And if you’re using driving aids, those could be slowing you down too.

The Pad actually has a lot of built in aids in GT Sport but Suzuka is not a good track to use it at. At somewhere like Monza you could be very competitive with a pad though, like top ten good if you are good enough (I can't use the pad to go quick at all). Also it's not like the top pad guys will be more than a second a lap off the top times even at a track like Suzuka.

With some other games you'd have no chance using a pad against the wheel users.

With a pad I can do a low 2.01 so no doubt with enough practice a 2.00 is possible. The top guys are always at least 2 seconds quicker than me.

You really need to look at replays to see where time is gained. Especially useful if you’re well off the pace.

Lmao your best time is a 2:06.. FYI, Gr.4's are running that @ Suzuka.. Imagine being as slow as a class above you?

Since the squeaky wheel gets the grease, I'm here to tell you that you're slow as molasses and you have a lot of work ahead of you.
I don t know where i am slow, which part, because i am not making any mistakes, the first sector im ending it at around 46 sec

If you are using the triggers to accelerate you could have a faulty R2 button, happens a lot with these pads and that will lose you tons of time. Otherwise you've got to watch other laps and compare them to yours.

If you’re really serious about learning, upload your replay with telemetry on. I’m sure the helpful guys on this forum could give you pointers. Otherwise, check fast replays with telemetry from YouTube to learn. Again, not making mistakes doesn’t mean you’re fast. It just means you kept the car on the road for a whole lap.

Oh didn t notice that, i dont know if its faulty or not, could it be the aids? That are hampering me? Im only using abs and corner indicator

Also, if you’re comparing your times in Time Trial mode to the Sport Mode qualifying times, make sure you set BOP to ON and that you’re using RH tyres with stock gearbox. If you’re doing quali laps in Sport Mode, those are the default settings.

Everything is locked in the settings except the tires which are set to medium.

What mode did you use to get your lap time?

In Sport Mode, tyres are locked to Racing Hard. If you’ve been doing your laps on Racing Medium, you should be getting way faster times. The fastest 1.58 times on Suzuka in Sport Mode are on Racing Hard.

I guess its racing hard..quali trial

I just had a go in this and got a 2:05.5 on my second lap, with a controller and automatic transmission. Like everyone's said, watch the top 10 times, and do your best to follow the speed/line/braking points/gears. You'll improve.

Unplayable for me with a controller without any assists of traction, im oversteering a lot exiting corners

Oh sorry, traction control was on 3. I still found the car a bit unstable, but I'd never driven it before.
