The ban on trading cars over £1 Million was introduced to reduce the duplication of cars and prevent people selling cars for cash on ebay. Killing trading for around 90 cars in the game is just a by product.

They will only re-introduce the gifting system if they can find a way to prevent duplication of cars.

My cousin works for SCEA (I told everyone that servers were going to be up in a matter of an hour, when the servers went down for more than a day, unlucky for me it was up in 20 mins) and trust me the last thing they give a damned is EBAY the reason why they initial put a limit was because they were crashing the PSN (Their most important asset). Then they set the limit to one car per day, to prevent a server crash but to their surprise people started creating a load of fake PSN accounts and were flooding the server which was worst for them then the initial problem. Then they limited the trading to one gift per console, which looked extremely bad on their part and the lines from SCEA and SCEJ went down and people were furious. The problem with the PSN is that is free so they don't have an infrastructure like XBOX Live does. They have been wanting to charge for PSN use for the past 2 years but they fear sales will plummet. This was going to be introduced in August 2011 and it was going to be $19.99 per year but since the console as been hacked, now it seems impossible. The penalty from jailbreaking a PS3 was being ban from the PSN, if they do this now many people will just prefer to hack their console..

My cousin has told me that nobody will get banned in the next couple of months. They have also come to the point were they will stop infinity ward from enforcing bans. I have never played their games and don't know what they did but they are looking for a solution to lift COD Black Ops bans. So people don't believe you will be banned for duping, or riding in circles. 👍
 
My cousin has told me that clouds are made of marshmallows and I agree.

In any event, I also agree that exploiting glitches won't get you ban. But that's because of common sense.
 
Nobody is going to get banned, but I can guarantee you they'll fix it in the next update.

Edit: and what does Infinity Ward have to do with this?

Isn't a glitch in COD Black Ops got many people ban? If you believe clouds are made of marshmallows, I'm impress you know how to write.:) That must be a real achievement for you, so keep up the good work. One day you will be normal intelligence.:sly:

And who exactly is your cousin? Jennifer Lopez??? Doesn't seem like much of an expert on GT5 if you ask me....

Edit: read the wall of text :P Still doubt your cousin is an "expert" on these things.... Regardless, noone got the axe in the GTacademy when there was blatant cheating so I doubt they will hand out bans over this.

Nop, but you can ask for him from Sony costumer support. This guy is definitely an expert on GT5 and he gets all kinds of insight of the issues Sony has since he works for them.
 
The logic makes sense behind the explanation and I already didn't believe anyone would be banned over this... despite the assurances from glib "purists" who would take delight in such an event...
 
Gifting $1m cars is gone and it's not coming back. It sucks, but there it is and there's nothing for it...
 
Can you ask your cousin if PS is working on new events? or upgrading standart to premiums? or any other stuff?

So he's a customer service guy? They don't outsource for that yet? Just realize you're going to get flamed if you say something like "my cousin says" :/

My recommendation is reference an "inside source" or just keep it to yourself....If people were really worried about being banned then they wouldn't be doing it.

They have a DLC schedule for June 2nd but he doesn't know what it will include.

Assuming you're not full of the stuff that everybody does, why on EARTH is your cousin releasing this info? He should be fired for sharing info like that...

Customer service is about on par with software testing. You know, the guys that should have been driving into walls on SSR7 trying to find glitches in maps. The reason nobody will get banned for duping is that it's a non-issue.

He is not a customer service guy but he is a PSN troubleshoot support Assistant Manager. He actually knows what will go up in PSN and makes sure everything is working properly. I didn't expected to be flame for this but It was rather just to inform people not to worry about bans. I could probably reference him but dont know if he would get in trouble.

No, people cheating by hacking is what got them banned, and I'm thankful for it. Why would PSN want to reverse something they stand firmly behind?
And exactly what part of SCEA does your 'cousin' work for? It's not like my cousin at mcdonalds who knows when the McRib is coming to town,... Sony's a BIT more complex than that.....

And why on earth would anyone get banned for an exploit? It's not like anyone had to hack into the systems kernel to expose anything.

I think he meant new content in the form of DLC. I'm sure the updates will keep coming like they have.

When you post hearsay from questionable sources, you shouldn't expect people to line up to kiss your ring. Insulting people that aren't genuflecting with poorly constructed sentences and pot shots about working at McDonald's won't help, either.

Good thing I'm at work. Members are so childish these days I should off just kept my mouth shut. At least I already inform people they wont get banned.
