I did a lap in a stock ZR1 in 7:06... Took me about three days but I got it down that low!!!!

That's what I'd call a "replay lap".I did a lap in a stock ZR1 in 7:06... Took me about three days but I got it down that low!!!!
Good idea (I'd say Sports Hards if these are road-legal), but what about Racing or non-production cars? I say they can use any tyre since they're not Road legal anyway.
Also, I've just thought about aids. Should any be allowed? I normally drive with Manual Transmission, no TCS, and nothing else other than ABS at 1 and ASM on (I have tried ASM off and I spin out far too much, but TCS is unnecessary for me, it is more a limit than a benefit).
Padracer99Non production cars can be road legal , just like a Ferrari Enzo.
So the Ferrari Enzo can use racing tyres?
Uhh, the X2010 Carbon and the X2010 Prototype are the same car1. 03:12.791 - Gran Turismo Red Bull X2011 Prototype (csdts)

4. 03:49.621 - Gran Turismo X2010 Carbon (Exorcet)
CSLACRFrom what I'm told, using the real shifter greatly slows you down in GT5, likely due to whiners complaining about it ever offering an "advantage" in GT5P.👎
I'm told it just won't allow you to change gears any faster then a specific timed rate, and I'll stop before this turns into a rant.![]()
I'm told if you truly try to speed-shift it locks you out in some manner. I really can't say, since I've never touched one.Thats interesting, I can see paddles being faster as I find it much easier and it takes less effort. I was playing with the stick+clutch today and it felt fine to me, but who knows.
Its only in certain cars, like the Lotus Elan(stock of course) is quite bad for it. You can complete the shift as fast as you physically can, but the gear number will remain greyed out(like when the clutch is in), the revs will continue to drop and the car wont accelerate until a set time has elapsed.I'm told if you truly try to speed-shift it locks you out in some manner. The larger the change in RPM needed for the next gear, the longer the delay. If you upgrade the clutch the problem goes away.
I do know I've never driven a car that couldn't be shifted much faster then a lot of cars shift in GT5 even with paddle shifters. Without upgrades for either, of course.I guess that is to account for the notchiness/vagueness/rubbish sychros/no sychros in the real car.
I drive with the paddles now when i need to make a quick lap, but its more fun and immersive with the clutch and H-shifter
The downside is when the tires spin in 1st gear, you will not be able to shift into 2nd gear quickly if the tires spin, same for any other shift if you were spinning... it will put you in neutral.
The normal 1-2 shift will mostly be slow depending the car even if you shift as fast as you can, even with the paddles on most cars except cars like mercedes SLS, GTR etc...
Thats what i dislike the most i think about it, but other than that, shift can still be done fairly quick, but not as quick as paddles unfortunatly... I tried racing my ghost replay with the paddles vs the H-shifter and i was slowly gaining on each shift.
Congrats on your new purchase! just for the throttle and brake pedal feel it was worth it.
I just got back from holidays, i will edit the spreadsheet soon.

Nice. Oh and mike I suppose you forgot something? Secret Santa...
Well boys I just got a G27 and it's miles ahead of the DFGT, both in terms of feel and the pedals(although the force feedback is about the same) I still have the DFGT but the G27 is about to take over as my main wheel for GT5, so watch out, I'm gunning for your lap times! Oh do you guys recommend keeping it realistic depending on the car? For example, paddles on a 458 Italia or stick+clutch on a Corvette, or paddles all the way?
