GT4 was an offline game, NOS online will be abused and knowing PD they would fail to implement it. And why the hell wouldn't I want a livery editor of some sort? The customization in this game is boring as hell: paint the car, paint the rims, the end.

I'm in huge favor of a limited livery ed.

Id hate people painting their cars like idiots. But it'd be awesome to have some racing decals and be able to put numbers in their cars. Another great addition would be using stickers with companies names and logos, which could be profitable for PD, charging companies for the availability of their brands in the editor. A win-win-win.

Ps. Sorry to drift away from the topic here

Exactly, though I'd also love to see a livery editor similar to Forza's... a guy can dream.

No, please...NOS wasn't great in GT4 anyway.

If the balance is right then NOS would be fun, e.g. soley restricted to tuner cars.

I think, if they do include NOS, that the higher powered cars would get more engine degrade. After the engine degrades to a certain point, they will need to buy that car over again. This would prevent the X1 NOS users, since this car is so powerful, emptying the tank halfway would destroy the engine in game, so they would need to get another X1. If you used a Miata, or another low powered car, and emptied the tank every race for 5 races, the engine should degrade badly, but still survive.

It should have them... if it is a "real driving simulator" we should have everything available as in real life.. ;) however, like in real life, we wouldnt get more NOS when we drift a corner like every other stupid game.

Nitrous oxide is not bad at all for the engine if done right. The effect is exactly the same as with a turbo or SC. Force more oxygen in the chamber. It has an added advantage with the nitrogen (after it splits) actually cooling your block.

I don't know where people get the strange idea that "NOS" is a tunnelvision inducing gas that blows up engines.

if they ever implemented a real drag racing mode then maybe.. on the strip only. be kinda cool with the old school muscle cars IMO. no thanks on the race tracks tho.

NOS plus GT5 draft = homing missile

I think I'm good without it.

hahahahahaha sooo true, those supercar daytona events would be pushing 300MPH no problem.

While it is a feature that was fun in GT4. Imagine this with the online. You would have to be with known clean drivers, because with all the corner cutting going on it would be abused by many.

This would be a "Cheat" online if allowed. Consider the following example:

Say a 1v1 race between 2 GTRs, both w/ NOS. The race is on Fuji. If Car 1 uses their NOS early, then all Car 2 would need to do is pace Car 1 until the main straight where they could simply throw their NOS on to win.

Not much skill in that:tdown:

That's not a cheat.

Given an equal situation, All one would need to do is use NOS to end a race.
You didn't read the example, did you:p

The KERS would be good if the car feature it, the NOS was on GT4 I didn't use it to much so I can live without it....

I'm sure he read the example. That was a silly example.

If Car 1 uses his NOS early but can't pull away, and Car 2 hangs close enough and saves his NOS to the end, then Car 2 used better strategy and deserves to win.

I fail to see how that is cheating; Car 1 just sucks.

yeah it would be the first time they would put nos in Gran turismo and GT4 i played GT4 for along time and it didn't had no nos in that game what a bunch of liars

Then you obviously have not played all of GT4. Trust me its in there.

I am going to second this, NOS is definitely in GT4. I would do 1000M test runs with and without/NOS and it was always a bit crazy on the difference.

I guess you have a point.

Looking from your perspective, I guess implementing NOS would make races a battle of strategy, rather than driving prowess. It would add a bit more interest to a slightly bland online experience, but irresponsible people will use it for cutting, punt recovery, ect.

It would be a race nonetheless, though.

Nitrous, KERS or some kind of a power boost system could be intresting in GT5.
In Arcade or GT mode you could use it in any race you want if you've installed power boost system on your car.
But in multiplayer the server host should be able to decide if the power boost is allowed or not.
In my opinion this kind of feature would add the excitement of online races.
Of course the amount of nitrous would be limited per race so you should have to use it wisely.
In Gran Turismo 4 you were able to install nitrous system on your car. So it's bit weird that it is not possible in GT5.

-Sorry my bad english :S

What do you think?

KERS + its weight would be realistic at least for Formula One cars and I guess a few racing cars now use this like GT3 R hybrid.

For roadcars NOS would be fine because its realistic anyway but I doubt the engine will last long in reality but it has to have a weight increase and in terms of fuel consumption using nos would double it while used.

Since there's weak slipstream now this should be great :)

but btw only kers gets to regenerate and NOS can be replaced at the pits :D for long racing online!

this would be a much better system than "boost"

"boost" is so unreal , the reason for boost is overtaking.

instead of "boost" having something realistic and have its realistic weight with it :)

Welcome to F1 2011

Nitrous only destroys engines when used wrong. i.e. trying to spray it off idle to do a burnout in an otherwise slow car (nitrous backfire). Or if a line pops off and sprays gas on the headers.

Hell no, it would turn into NFS.

I don't recall GT4 = NFS

So Nitrous is more of NFS...but not a livery editor like that of NFS? The paradox is beyond me I think I need to just sit down and gather my thoughts...

Or better yet let's be rational NFS is GT4 or any other GT, what mad NFS what it was is the fact it was an Arcade not Nitrous. GT4 was the first game with Nitrous where you'd drive the car and it was normal like real life. People online act stupid for every game, to blame it on nitrous purely cause you don't like it is a bit of a cop out on why nitrous shouldn't be used in the GT series. I think if people set up proper street racing events online with clean players and GT had a drag track this would show just how fun it could be.

NOS over KERS is my preference.

NOS. No. I don't want another NFS rip-off.
KERS. Yes. 👍

I used find it very helpful in GT4 as an anti-lag system for example if you had a Stage 4 turbo on an Escudo etc, on a tight track it was a pig to drive but if you used a short shot of nitrous every time you came back on throttle until the turbo spooled up it was much more nicer to drive.

Man I almost forgot all about the nitrous in GT4. This is most definitely a welcomed feature, although I do think it would make even quicker work of an already pretty weak A.I. This is the only set back I see with it. Tons of fun to be had with a tank of NOS, fo sho!

Maybe they could put it in the game, but it unlocks at level 40? Eh? No? Hmm, still searchin for that incentive to level again.

I will say there are still options I'd prefer to get first but it could be fun

But don't add it unless you add it for the go kart. You know you want to :)
