Finally finished up all-silver, with a few golds.

I'm glad PD finally gave some of us license prizes that isn't completely nerve-wracking and repetitive.

Motto: We're not mediocre!

i´m on my way of finishing up all silver from bronze.. but sometimes it feels like PD designed the course with the time so that ppl would tear there hair off or just go insane becouse they could not get gold on it...

happy to join you

If I come here can I pretend that I'm not actually trying to get more golds? :-) My original intention was to get all silver, as the tearing hair out thing seemed a little pointless.

We ARE above average!!! We are NOT mediocre!!! :sly:

PS, I can't drift either....

Yeah im gonna get to this soon, I was looking to procure the new Skyline 07 concept, Then i found out i need all silver for the IA group to win it. Wow quite a challenge.

I currently have maybe less than 20 licence golds total obviously mostly in B. I have no IA silvers. Its going to take qute a while im sure. I attepted a silver on the very first mission in IA last night and was unsucessfull.

I just started going through the licenses again just to do something different. I had gotten the lowest licenses I needed for the "Scrooge does GT" series (silver in all but Special) with a few golds out of luck.

I started going through them again yesterday and have gone from 21 gold, 43 silver, 16 bronze (all of special) to 33 gold, 38 silver and 9 bronze in about 4 1/2 hours of playing. Haven't got any license all in gold yet (Nat A only needs one more) and haven't got any gold in Special either.

I've got about half gold and half silver. I really don't have the time (or desire) to go for all golds. Some of us have other things to do besides sitting in front of the PS2 for three hours trying to shave off that last tenth. (I do, however, have time to sit down and shave tenths off of my S16 time :))

three hours on one test is way too long for me. I did 4 hours but it wasn't on one go and it was spent doing about 20 different tests.

And I need to shave 12 whole seconds from my S16 time. That WILL take 3 hours
 :) :)

I made it with bronze through all the tests... :(

My dog could make it through bronze! bronze is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too easy.

Guys, it aint impossible to acomplish... all golds can be done. just lose your "i don't have time" attitude and you will do it. i done it, and so can you!

One little trick... take one test at a time, untill you get gold, if you feel the need to change test, do it only when you have gotten gold. Some tests took me 3 days to get gold (3 week nights, total of about 10 hours). Some tests i had to shave so many minutes that i told myself i could never do it, yet i did.

Here's a little something to motivate you all. Come back to look at that pic whenever you feel down. Thats what i did.

I finally got around to getting all gold. Yeah me. It was a lot easier getting all gold in GT4 compared to GT3, which was a lot easier than GT2.

It took half an hour for me. Two practice runs in Arcade and then the test. Gold with the first run. And I shaved 15 seconds off my old time...

I have all silvers and I'm perfectly satisfied with it :D I'll definitely join the club. It took me about 3-4 hours one day to upgrade to all silver, and I haven't touched them since. Althought I did go through and earn a few licenses for my friend and ended up getting more golds on his on my first run through them than I have on mine :ouch: Oh well :D

Might as well link to the 80s Gold Club :D

I havent touched the s-licens either.. feels like a realy boring challange..

The S-Licenses are the best! No hints, no pace cars, no tricks. Just you in the car for one hot lap. That's what a license test should be.

Let's see....15 hours of class per week, 20 hours of work, and 30 hours of homework. Yeah, I probably DON'T actually have time to waste chasing something as superfluous as the 43 gold licenses I don't have. A degree = a job = money = a decent life. Gold license = bragging rights to people on the Internet = living in the parent's basement. Sorry, but the gold licenses just don't mean very much to me. I don't have much time to play GT4, but when I do, I'd rather do 200 point arcade races. In my mind, that's much more entertaining than throwing my controller across the room in the license tests.

You probably shouldn't be playing AT ALL!
I worked both full time and part time (different years) whilst going to College and other than school holidays I had no time to play videogames.

Go away, wrong thread. We don't need no motivation.

Hm, wow. For some of us GT4 is a hobby, not just a video game.

Golding licenses doesnt take long at all anyway.

But the true satisfaction in GT4 can be felt LAN against others, or racing against others in OLR comps.

what do you get for 200 point races?

Id take beating Human racers over GT4's AI anyday.

But thats my Opinoin

I'm a member! 5 golds, 75 silvers. I did this probably 3 - 4 months ago. I was shooting for all silvers because of the prize cars and got a few golds in the process. I'm 93.7% complete....Mission 34 to go and most of the Special Conditions stuff too. I don't think I'm ever gonna get 100%. Used a codebreaker to get the black Formula car on a different memory card and then bought it from myself...expensive car...haven't driven it yet....

I agree with Small Fryz...human comp would be great. I submitted a code request to codebreakers for: Garage Cars is Arcade Mode (Single Race) and/or longer Family Cup Races. It seems that you can get a good race with the AI if you set the "difficulty" right. LAN racing would be cool but I don't know of any other GT4 fanatics in my area. Maybe I should work on a "mobile" cockpit just in case.

Maybe you guys could help me with the codebreakers code request? Maybe they'll respond if enough people ask? www.codebreaker.com Go to their forum area and try a search on GT4 code requests.

I've just started to do the licence tests again, aiming for Silver across the board. I've done the first and last licences, just got the middle 3(?) to finish, i've already spoilt it with a few Golds unfortunatly :(

- I'm above average and proud!

I never liked the colour gold anyway.

Without having to search through the many GT4 threads, can any tell me which prize cars you get for all silver and all gold?

Domestic B (All Silver) : Mazda Kusabi '03 (gray)
Domestic B (All Gold) : Honda S500 '63

Domestic A (All Silver) : Honda Dualnote '01 / Acura DN-X (NTSC)
Domestic A (All Gold) : Nissan Skyline GT-R (Gran Turismo Version) '01

International B (All Silver) : Mazda RX-8 Concept (Type-II) '04 (yellow)
International B (All Gold) : Jensen Healey Interceptor Mk.III '74

International A (All Silver) : Nissan GT-R Concept (TokyoShow) '01 (gray)
International A (All Gold) : Dome Zero '78

Super (All Silver) : Pontiac Solstice Coupe Concept '02 (orange)
Super (All Gold) : Ford Model T Tourer '15 (any color you like as long as it's...)

All-silver takes about 90min-2hrs per license, about the same as running the Dream Car Championship...not too long.

See, you don't even get decent prize cars for getting gold! - gold is obviously for loosers.

Why are so many prize cars crappy 'concepts' that you're never going to use and can't even sell!?

I'll do a test no more than a dozen times, if i don't get silver in that time (i seem to get it on my second attempts mostly) i'll move on and try again on another day. Sometimes you just need a fresh perspective.

Old Geezer
80 Silver...Do I qualify?...O.G.
old.gif

Of course! Basically, I didn't want the all-80-gold club to get all the fun.

It's okay to thank Polyphony for a welcome change to the GT series every so often. Too often, we cry about every little glitch or that Favorite Real-Life Car X doesn't handle well.

I can sneak in an hour or so of GT4 every few days, but yeah, it's usually not high up on my list of things to do :)

Small_Fryz
what do you get for 200 point races?

A real race. None of this two laps starting from the back against the Le Mans field of the late 80's. A 200-point, 25 lap race at Suzuka in an R8 is pure bliss. Sometimes the best things in life don't have tangible rewards :)

Go Argentum Society! We're better than given credit for! And props to the threadstarter for digging up the archaic word for silver!

Once upon a time I was happy with bronze license medals in GT1. I soon wanted more and made them all silver, but that was not enough, I needed the prize cars.
Once I had golded all GT2 licenses I went back and golded all the GT1 licenses.
Having silver was never going to be enough for GT3 or 4, they had to be all gold.
I would have failed in my quest if all gold was not reached.
The prize cars are not that great in GT4 for getting gold, but I still had to have 80 gold medals.
If you are good enough to get silver you can certainly get gold.

No worries, Uncle Harry, we just prefer not to obsess about these things. :D

Glad to see OG has joined us, should give us that air of respectability :dopey:

We're NOT mediocre!! We just can't be bothered......
