And what do you call regular drifting? The only difference between this and "normal" drifting is that the guy is in a fox body mustang instead of an import.

He's not all the great, I've seen many other people hold way more angle through that course, in cars with much less power.

Why would you want to drift a mustang?
there drag cars =D

First off there isn't such a thing as a "drag car". Have you ever owned or drove a mustang? They handle pretty good really. I had a 2004 GT with eibach pro-street coil overs and a few other suspension parts and it handled better well way better than the 94 Civic i had which also had coil overs and tons more stuff than my mustang had. I spent so much more on the civic's suspension set up than i did on my mustang. I thought my civic handled really good, which it did but it didn't handle close to my mustang. Only problem i had with it was the rear end would try to step out a little, but it was also RWD and had about mmm....280 more hp so thats a valid reason. The point is that you can make any car anything with suspension, a civic can be a drag car or a nova can be a ciruit runner. Its all about weight reduction and the proper set up. Oh and the drifting really wasn't that good, he had pretty much zero angle.

Mustangs do not handle well stock, live rear axles suck for handling. Great for drag racing, terrible for going around corners. It's a common thing known by car people. There is nothing wrong with it as long as you use it in the correct application. This is the main reason why I do not like the GT500 that just came out and why it shouldn't be compared with the Z06 and 911 like people keep writing into Car & Driver about. Modern sports cars need to be fast in both areas of cornering and acceleration.

And 280hp is not a lot of power, so it's not a valid reason for having the back end step out. I can kick the ass out on my Blazer and it has maybe 160hp at the ground, the reason it steps out is because the suspension isn't made for racing and high speed turns.

 ???

And the drifting wasn't all that hot.

The V8 sound was great though! 👍 And where can I get some of those flashing lights for my car? They look great, and could come in handy... :trouble:

Sigh...use common sense. He was speaking about production cars, not cars that are built for specific type racing:idea:

Yea...

He isn't so great, and he picked the wrong car. Starting out with a better base always leads to better results. I don't care how unique it is, if it wasn't good for it in the first place, it doesn't deserve the time and money it takes to turn it into something good.

I don't care what any of you haters say that **** is tight as hell. That 302 is one of the best soundtracks ever. I could also watch this all day long.

bah, you haven't seen a thing. this is a proof that power is not needed for drifting!

Lada drifting

yes, I tried to do that youtube thingie but it didn't work. :indiff:

All the videos befire yours, Leonidae, I've seen before.

The Lada: Look like fun. Not enough tire smoke to compete with the D1 boys, though.

Ah, Mr. Ocsi Balazs, search some more of his awesome Rally Lada on youtube, it will leave you stunned. Here is an example.

A Mustang will outhandle a Civic in handling, of course.

But what the hell does that count for?

That's just about the dumbest thing I've read today. Congratulations! :dunce:

Live axle cars don't handle for crap. That's not me talking, that's the facts.

Top Gear Power Board
59. 1:30.0 – Ford Shelby GT500
80. 1:32.8 – Facelifted Honda Civic Type-R
... and that's with more than double the horsepower. FAIL! 👎

Enjoy the commentary.

Yes, but the Mustang is probably about 23473895606439562394x more fun than the Civic.
