It isn't a bad comparison. It's a comparison between 2 cars that went around the same lap, and the times they achieved, regardless of how money other cars drove around that same lap. If Top Gear drives more cars, and the times fall between those 2, does the point change?

The comparison is the time, not where they placed on the board.

RI and PB have good points... I see more of a difference in a 50 second auto cross run between STi and a Mustang Cobra (previous gen).

On the Top Gear track the Mustang should, in theory, blow the Civic away... but it doesn't...
