Keep your eye on the truck in the right lane (left from this POV) when he launches.

Yeah, that's pretty insane. I'm curious as to how heavy those trailers are. They look massive, but then I recall how slow certain big rigs are at acceleration.

PS. Kylehnat, bud I'm sure your car is fantastic, but the chassis rails on a Semi are enormous. 2 steel girders, ranging roughly 4" x 10" run the length of those trucks. Flexing them, is something to behold.

Besides, rocking it on the springs is something else entirely compared to lifting one tire 24"+ off the ground.

Oh noes! The sarcasm train has left the station early!

By the way, my car makes 150 lb-ft. of torque. That won't twist a tricycle frame.

Wow...having grown up with my father being a truck driver I can appreciate what it takes to do that...wow.

Holy Newton-meters, Batman!

Seeing a Dodge Charger do that is one thing, but seeing something that massive that is sitting on a frame practically made of boxed in I-beams is a sight to behold.

*KOFF...KOFF* Yeah...those definietly weren't Cat ACERT engines.

Actually, it's pretty common for a heavily modified truck to launch like that. see if there's a semi class at your local truck and tractor pull. you talk about frame twist...friend, the truck's like that all the way downtrack.

What the 🤬!
That is serious 🤬! I can't 🤬 believe it either. What torque that truck have. Its like the car wants to eat the road! I wonder what happens when they remove the trailer....
(the truck must probably flip)

Yeah, but that's because the sled has a lot of friction from launch and it only gets heavier as the weight comes forward. These things are pulling ballasted regular cargo trailers, which have very little rolling resistance. That makes a huge difference. Anything that can snatch one tire two feet + off the pavement from inertial resistance alone would have no trouble keeping it off the ground if it was pulling a resisting load.

that black soot (NOx) isn't causing global warming (that causes it's own set of lovely problems) , but I do see the humor in your statement

Now if they ran it on B100, you wouldn't have that problem:sly:

Those trucks make a ton of torque, literally

Yes, with the right modifications, an I6 TT running at about 50 lbs of boost-hold on

actually, BD would cause more oxides of nitrogen but less greenhouse CO2. so in reality a truck running biodiesel would probably produce more black smoke but less greenhouse gas normally associated with I.C. exhaust

I wanna see that at the 1/4mile without a trailer. There's a video somewhere on streetfire with a stock looking semi that amazingly pulls a mid 14sec 1/4mile. I'll try and find the video later and post it here.

well i can say this much though those engines from what i remember may produce like 300 hp but make 1,500 ft lbs of torque i worked in a semi detail shop for a while, dad was a trucker so was my brother in law so i have an appreciation for these goliaths as well

Oh yeah! I want one. The one in the right lane, for sure.

Mounds & mounds, & mounds, & mounds, & mounds of torque. That kind of torque would smoosh my little hyundai like a popcan.

Semi tractors just use an average low-tech open-C channel frame about the size Matt said. It's massive but extremely flexible (relatively). They want it to flex, because with all the forces put upon it, like that torque and shocks from loading a trailer and whatnot, if the frame was fully boxed, a la F150, it would twist and stay twisted if it didn't just break apart.

These days they are more powerful though I've seen cummins engines up to 600 hp and 1850 lb-ft. Now that is beautiful power :sly: Believe it or not when truck like that has no trailer it just might be faster of the line then some slow car. And I mean start with like 3rd gear not 1st.

You'd need a girlfriend first for that statement to be true.
Ohh not this crap again. I thought you guys finally gave up. :indiff: Why is it so hard to believe I have a girlfriend? Because I drive this, and said this? To tell you the truth I never had more than one GF, one GF is already too time-consuming. :ouch: The rest were friends that I tend to flirt on.

Please get off my back, I haven't done anything wrong for months. Why won't you let go of the past? It's people like you that ruin my day. :indiff:

when you make a post like you did earlier, it makes you look like an idiot :)
I tried to bring a little sense of humor in this thread. I tend to joke around and say stuff like that. I thought it was funny.
it also makes it look like you are just trying to have a GF :)
I am NEVER bringing her up on this site again.

I couldn't imagine being the driver of that thing...it would be hard enough trying to keep yourself in the drivers seat, let alone launch the thing.
