The Group Key:
(open) = Available slot in a group. The next highest ranked driver from the lower group will take this slot when he confirms particpation
(pending) = Saved slot in group. Waiting for reponse from driver on whether or not he will participate in this particular tournament. If no response or declines then the next driver in line is given the slot the day before the tournament when the groups are finialized.
(A name) = slot is taken by a confirmed driver

2 new rule changes

- for this tournament there will only be 6 cars per Group
- Drivers who miss a week will have to start from the bottom instead of dropping just one group to avoid chaos when I try to group everyone

Group A:
  • GTP_CudaDude
  • GTP_CWR
  • GTP_Dbo129
  • GTP_L_Hamilton
  • NapoleonMikey
  • RedSuinit

Group B:
  • BaldurKn
  • GTP_Earth
  • GTP_ANGELx
  • GTP_Spyhunter
  • KumaBar
  • GTP_bbcnascaR2

Group C:
  • GTP_vanos2990
  • GTP_DTWmetro
  • Oo_xVx_oO
  • GTP_Noah
  • GTP_Brakefade
  • GTP_KARTRACER

The Rules

(1) - YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR CAR TUNED TO PP595 or you will be DQ'ed from the event.

(2) - First place gets 10 points, second 7, third 6, fourth 5, fifth 4, and sixth 3 and seventh 2. Points are not determined by your finishing position overall, but by your finishing position according to other GTP members. So you can win and get 10 points even if you finish 3rd, as long as there is no GTP members ahead of you.

(3) - If the host quits the race then that race is cancelled. Wait for the next one. Do not try and restart the race as my not have enough time to finish it and make it to the next race on time.

(4) - If you get put into another group with no GTP racers then you will be awarded 5 points. If there is at least 1 GTP member in your group then points are rewarded normally.

(5) - Whoever accumulates the most points over the 5 races is the champion. Tie breaker goes to who won the most.

The drivers are grouped according to their performance in each tournament.

After each tournament this is how it will go:

Say group A runs their 5 races and the points look like this:

Driver A - 39
Driver B - 38
Driver C - 36
Driver D - 35
Driver E - 35
Driver F - 34
Driver G - 25

Say group B runs their 5 races and the points look like this:

Driver H - 36
Driver I - 32
Driver J - 30
Driver K - 26
Driver L - 15
Driver M - 11

Drivers H and I would move up into group A and drivers F and G would move down into group B because those were the lowest and highest scoring drivers. This goes down through all the groups, top 2 drivers move up, bottom 2 move down.

Newcomers will be added to the bottom group and they will have to work themselves up from there.

(6) - At the end of the race just write down your finishing position compared to the other GTP members. If you finish up front use the extra time to write down the finishing position of the others to ensure everything is recorded in case they don't see the results.

See ya there.
also, i think that if a race disconnects at the start line there should be plenty of time to restart.

b

of course im in and staying in group 2 is fine with me means ill score more points gettin podium finishes instead of losing to cuda ;)

Yeah I know... I'm really going to have to step it up and get up on the wheel (SIXAXIS) but I love the compitition!

I'm in 👍

I'll be back.

Thanks Earth for running this again, great solutions by the way.

I can't take credit, GTP_phantom and GTP_CWR came up with the idea

Wow I'm surprised 14 drivers already signed up

I may have to open up a Group D which would be a first

Arrrrgh!!! I forgot I have to travel to Seattle next week. I must reluctantly withdraw from this tourney.

DR

YES! Less competition! lol Just kidding.. :scared:

Oh course I am talking about the 3 wins Tuesday..

When we got disconnect those times, I was trying to get the guys to rejoin the race (in that chat), but no one would they wanted to stick the rules.. So next time I think we can.

Hey Earth...I'm dropping out of the tournament.
Guys, it is happening to me way too often. It happened a lot tonight, too. I get chosen to be the host, and there are too many cars and the race gets disconnected.
As a courtesy to the rest of you, I am dropping out of this tournament. Just about every race I enter, I'm the host. I don't want to be responsible for the tournament races getting disconnected. I can wait until this gets fixed.
Good luck to all of you, and good racing.

That's sad that we are forced to host races and do not have dedicated high speed international servers.

Your welcome back anytime Denny

good set-up session with GTP_Twistybits. He seems to be further along on his set-up. I'm still looking for the solution for the understeer...

No solution for it. You will always have it, but you can tune it out a little. Suspension is huge. Figure out the right Springs and Rebound and you can work the understeer out a little.

I ran the R8 last night, and man I love that car, it is so fun to drive. Its not like the F512BB at all. With the 512 you can't give it more than 90%. With the R8 you can give it 110% and it does the job.

cudadude, thanks for all the help out there! I was trying to watch your six a number of times, but it didn't always go so well ;^} A case of terminal understeer, here. Once in a while I can induce a balanced slide, but I'm not sure how. Sandbags in the trunk? ... BTW, this is Heli-Eric in my new cloak.

Oops ... guess I need a new login as "GTP_TwistyBits"

I can't race because of the hosting problems I'm having. But I got a pretty good tune/set-up for the R8. The reason I'm posting this is because I was surprised that some are having problems with understeer. I have it set up so I can 4 wheel drift (if I want). That's pretty nuetral. I have a tune for Suzuka, and one for Fuji. Usually my Suzuka tune works pretty well at HSR, too.
So if anyone wants to try it, send me a PM. Maybe I can help out the guys who want to race, but are'nt too good at tuning.
If anything, my set-up will be a good place to start your tuning. Of course, keep in mind, I tune a car for my driving style, which is a little different.
Try driving the R8 like it's a front drive car. Power on will pull the front wheels right back on line.
Last night at Suzuka, I was right on the heels of 2 Evo X/tuned. I couldn't pass them, but they couldn't pull away. Well, I passed one, but he got it back.
