I run the NTSC version. Do I need the X-Port or the Sharkport? What are the differences between the two? Can someone point me to a webpage that will explain it in detail - I've become a bit confused.

I'm a bit confused about the matter as well, but here's what I know:

NTSC supposedly uses sharkport. It's what's marketted in the US.

PAL uses X-port, x-port is marketted in europe

However, I live in the great United States of America and I've got an "X-port 2" and haven't had any problems messing with NTSC game saves from the net, and I think most of those are saved with Sharkport.

Also, when I got my action replay (not the game shark) for the matrix (already beat it, just wanted to play multiplayer... hella fun I punk my lil brother all the time) and in the book it says in the FAQ that Yes, game shark codes are compatable w/ action replay. I also went to codejunkies.com and found somewhere on there it saying that datel owns game shark/shark port as well as action replay/x-port

So I would just buy whatever, I don't think it really matters. (I got the x-port instead of sharkport to begin with because best buy didn't have a sharkport i don't think) But if you have problems with using a sharkport save I *believe* you can just change the file extention to .xps (i think sharkport's extention is .sps for shark port save and x port save)

That's absolutely everything I know on the issue, hope it helped

OK, Here is the deal as I understand it. Datel at one point made the Xport for PAL, and sold it thru Action Repaly. They also made the Sharkport for NTSC, and sold it thru Interact(Gameshark). Datel has severed ties with Interact, and now produces both a PAL and NTSC version of Xport as well as Action Replays. So if you have an NTSC game/console, U want to buy an NTSC Xport.

Actually, Cobraking, what I was trying to say, is that Sharkport is no longer being produced, and hasn't been for a few month's, so now U have to buy an NTSC Xport.

err... what are you so worried about? Heydu just said xport and sharkport are exactly the same things now that xport is made for NTSC as well. You seem really torn up considering all that's different is the box... did you want a shark on your box that bad? I personally like the x-port box better, but that's just my opinion

Edit:
They've still got a couple of gamesharks/sharkports at the Game Stop on Josey Lane in Carrollton, Texas, if you feel strongly enough about it to order it from them. (Carrollton is a suburb of Dallas... might as well call Carrollton Dallas, it pushes up against Dallas)
