Should the laps be reduced to 75?

I'm in!! 👍

Just need to know what time the green flag will go..

btw, I don't got a headset at the moment. But if it's required, I'll get one. But why do we need it? I think it sucks, and I can't hear anything thru my speakers, just annoing "buzzzzzzzz".. Is it different with a headset?

The reason you need a headset is because you will need to warn other drivers of your movements, such as being left or right of them, to prevent crashes.

are you running this as a race / or are you leaving it practice mode and who ever completes 100 laps first wins.

I asked because the ring 24 hour track has that glitch where the track sometimes disappears and it seems like your car is flying. ( People will quit if that happens to them).

& i cant see a race online lasting 10+ hours without a large amount of people getting booted .

A race, obviously. It clearly states that you can only join if you can make it through.

And spend all that time racing without earning any money or experience? Now that would be a waste.

That's half the reason I'm doing this, I can't wait to see how much cr/xp we'll get after 12 hours!

People who quit that easily shouldn't race anyway; especially not this race. Sh-t happens.

And honestly, the occasional section disappearing for a few seconds should make very little difference in a 100 lap race.

This all has to do with the hosts connection quality and the connection of the individual player. If you have a good connection there should be no problems.

Everyone should clear their cache and restart their PS3 prior to the race in order to make sure everything goes smoothly.

This.

I'd be interested in this, if there are some limits on horsepower talked about - don't want to enter in some 500hp car, only to find everyone else is driving X2010s or whatever. As much as it's an endurance, it needs to be competitive too.

There is a 700hp limit. It says so on the OP.

WHAT??

My hopes are that the drivers participating use the mirrors and keeps racing clean..

Don't think that you need a head set for that..
I can tell you, that there is NO WAY that will work, atleast not for 13 hours..

But I'm in, head set required or not. 👍

are you racing this weekend? Saturday or Sunday?
there is/are several other races this Saturday that start around 12 p.m. est

Nope. Unfortunatly, i'll probably be gone for the 12th of March, so would either the 5th or 19th of March be good?

Nevermind me afterall, can't participate afterall.

Aww man. Well, after some speculations by myself I have made this the official prize list.

Ferrari 330 P4, Ford GT Mark IV, Ferrari F2007, Ferrari F10, Lamborghini Miura, Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2, Formula Gran Turismo, Audi R10 TDI, Peugeot 908 HDi Matmut, and a Citroen GT Road Car.

1st place chooses his two, then 2nd chooses his two and so on.

What kind of cars are people planning on running for this race?

My car is going to be a Peugeot 908 HDi that I am wearing down to meet regulations. Saying this, I might expect some powerful cars worn down, such as a NASCAR or another LMP.

This sounds amazing! What time would you be starting the race? Im in london so the time difference would have to be taken into account, im free on either 5th or 19th of march so either is good good for me

Well that doesn't seem too fair does it? Using a car that's above the set limit on a technicality? I'm sure 12 hours of hard racing with your oil light on would be very detrimental in real life. Too bad they don't simulate more realistic damage, I would hope for your engine to blow ...trying to bend the rules like that. Shame on you.

I was expecting people using more along the lines of a ZR1 RM, LP 670-4 SV, Enzo, 599, McLaren, various LM Race Cars like Ford GT, R8 LMS, GT-R, Oreca Viper.

Well, we will be running 75 laps instead of 100, so the race will be shorter, but this DOES mean that I will have to drop the value of the prize cars. Shouldn't be that bad since it's still a race for expensive cars.

Don't back it down because a handful of people (who probably won't show up anyway) voted that way. If you wan't to go with 100 I say go for it.

I know I have 3 or 4 friends who took a lot of interest when I told them about it. We will get a good collection of people for this thing!

I know, but I am starting to think that 100 is pushing things too far. Sure it would yield alot of credits/XP, but do you think around 10-16 hours of 100 lap racing is way too long for an online race?

75 laps is still approx. 10 hours. Much better IMO.

If we're dropping to 75 laps the I propose we also drop the power to about 600 and maybe set a weight limit as well. Reason being is that I like this idea:
Time progress should be set to "2".. Since we will race for about 12 hours.. (If you want a 24 hour sycle)
So I'd love the race to last right around 12 hours. And Keitaro is right, so there should be some kind of weight limit (around 1000kg) to keep the cars close during the race. Then again, with the introduction of PP this week things are going to change.

PP will make things a lot easier on setting up a Enduro.

I agree. I'm really looking forward to PP, it will make online racing much closer in general. I can't wait to be able to use my lighter and lower hp cars against some heavyweights, but I usually am not able to due to people setting weight restrictions that I don't meet even though I'm under the hp limit by 1 or 2 hundred.

I think we should definatly keep it fair in regards to what cars are used. Theres no point in people wearing down a fast car just to get in under the regulations. If we are going to race for 10 hours then at least make it even as possible as people will see that they havent got a chance and quit mid race
