I found the NSX LM car very fast, but more of a handful, if you feel manly then go for it but I wouldn't try it if I were you lol :) the Falken GTR is a good choice if you have it as well. GT500's are always good as well, even with max ballast, but I'm sick to death of racing them and fancied something else :P

thats excatly why i set the weight to 1300kg, cos i was also bored of super gt's

jav how long you going to be? 9pm GMT is 1hour and 40 mins away. plenty of time

one thing i dont have a headset so i will be type chatting before the race starts

I'm still debating on going with the R8LMS because of this, it's really quick but can be a handfull on worn tires. I was also looking into the Ford LM Spec II Test Car, or a ZR1 RM. So many good choices just 1 desission, ohh the debate...

Question, on a long race like this people are gonna have to take breaks. Is it allowed to leave the car rolling on track on autopilot(pause)?
Or should it be done by making a pitstop and pausing?

thats something that we should all agree on before the race starts, so we al do the same thing, i dont mind either way

would i be able to join in the race? i hope its competitive though. I might fall asleep otherwise but yeah i would like to join in tomorrow. i'll be doing it with a m8 on 1 console on sunday so its good practice.

Don't ever join another race on this forum. You are a dirty prick who can't make a pass without bouncing off and forcing your opponent into the grass. Then you refused to give me my position back. Learn to drive stupid ricer you don't belong here. Keep on re-enforcing the stereotype you're doing a wonderful job of it. Don't ever join another race on this forum.

Like I said, there was a clear gap, i took it, we came together. I had obvious inside line into that corner. If you watch racing then you'll see that bumps happen alot. You've got to remember that I voted to have penalties on strong, only person to say that so maybe you should vote for the penalties too. Simple racing accident.
Someone please check the reply. Lap 1

If you call braking late, diving down to the curb and completely ignoring the apex of the turn "the clear inside line" then you shouldn't be racing here. Learn to drive. There is absolutely no need to attempt a pass like that on the first lap of a four hour race. This is not a "simple racing accident" this is a careless driver trying to justify his over-aggressive racing style.

After a nice hot shower to think I've realized that I'm not going to be able to teach this idiot how to race properly. I could get myself banned for raging at this noob but nothing is likely to happen to him. Coupled with the fact that he's from the UK I'll likely never have to race against this turd again. I feel sorry for all of you Europeans though.

It just pisses me off that almost every time I try to race clean it bites me in the ass because some other idiot doesn't know how a race actually works and doesn't care about anything but position.

I've gotten it out of my system and I hope this moron learns that playing Gran Turismo like Need for Speed is going to lead to many more altercations like this.

You set up this event nicely Mikeem and thank you for waiting while I ran to buy tires. Just wish I had gotten there early enough to actually get some testing and tuning in.

Oh

That was the longest grind I've ever had in a video game by far. And thats coming from somebody who's played a lot in my day.... AMG DTM, you need to go and race this race for real in a fast car and whoop their a$$es, lol. Mindless, you were driving as fast as me and could have kept up with leaders, but you would spin once every other lap and thats what cost you the 9 minutes you lost in 4 hours. Lockey1, thanks for turning penalties off. I would have gotten like 5 of them for accidentally "grassing it" especially towards the end.

Jav I caught your rolling car in the Schwedenkreuz at 270 km/hr following behind mindless rift, missed it by inches, lol.

My biggest problems in the race came from tyres in that race, I thought I could stretch another lap out of some old softs, and then lost about 4 and a half mins spinning on literally every corner, even the back straight, then I was pushing quite hard for the next few laps trying to make up time and made a fair few mistakes, but by about lap 11 I got into a groove and didn't mess up too much after that, just need to chill more and think long term more in a race like that, but still, that was my first ever proper enduro so can only get better from here right? ;)

The end was super close though! Clock ticking down in the last minute after AMG finished and I was catching Loskey and being caught quickly by Jav! Sorry if the contact caused you to spin btw Losk, was a pretty tense situation, clearly got the better of me lol, all 3 of us separated by about 5 secs in the end though, pretty damn close for 4 hrs racing :D

I'd be up for another one sometime if you guys want to, not for a long while obviously haha, need to recover :P

Thanks everyone who joined in. really enjoyed it, was hard work though, four hours is a long time. the 2nd to 3 hour i was struggling, i set my fasted lap on lap 2 which says it all really

thanks

I feared that would happen to someone during the race. That's the reaso I asked...

I'm feeling your pain today man! Was doing the LMP 1hr race today and with 5 laps to go came out from my pitstop about 5 secs behind the car that got me for 2nd while I was on the pits and as I rejoined the track this character yes this same character Golferwas passing by. Not a big deal he's 2 laps down so I'll just get by and go get my possition back... WRONG!!! This effing guy decides he wants to get involved on the race for second from 2 laps behind! Finally after a lap and a half I got by, now 2nd is about 15 secs down the road thank's to this moron! Guess what there was a second moron just ahead 1 lap behind and he too wants to get involved! at the end I finished 3 seconds behind 2nd place thank's to this guy!

OMG, I think I pinched a nerve in my neck doing that thing yesterday, I can hardly lean back or side to side. Seriously considering not doing another one of those unless I can find a chair with a head rest, that doesnt cost as much as that exorbitant playseat.

Did you end up doing the strategy you said you would switching to a different tire compound on the first stop? I started on the hards and just gave up when I was losing 4-5 seconds on every section. They didn't seem to be wearing significantly less than the softs do. Maybe they just don't lose as much traction when they wear out?

Ha! Too funny Jav. Doesn't surprise me in the least. Like I said to him in private, he needs to watch some racing on TV to learn some etiquette.

Pssst!! Check the link on my signature! Cheap and effective!

Bad thng about that is that the sesationalist broadcasters only show the "dramatic and controversial' dive bomb pasing and leave out the true race craft and race building skills that takes to be succesfull in this sport. When people see that stuff they think it is apropriate on track conduct when in reality it is unacceptable. You have no idea how many rookies I've black flagged for this same on track conduct...

Ok I know it's been a couple days but that's about how long I took to recover from this thing. It ended just after 9pm here and try as I might I couldn't keep my eyes open much longer after that. I went to bed by 11... I was so exhausted.

But I do have some things to say and comment on:

Seriously, STFU! Just because you had a simple bump doesn't mean you should ruin the race for everyone else by turning your mic on to drop a bunch of F bombs and derogatory comments for the next 10 minutes. Maybe if you didn't waste your time turning on your mic to annoy everyone you could have caught up. It was less than 4 minutes into a 4 hour race! If you'd have stuck around you certainly could have caught him, and maybe you'd have managed 3rd or 4th. I bet you'll rage even more knowing he dropped about 30 minutes after you finally left.

Like I said, there was a clear gap, i took it, we came together. I had obvious inside line into that corner. If you watch racing then you'll see that bumps happen alot.
As mentioned in the post after this one, you dove into the corner when you didn't need to. Final lap, ok... make hot-headed moves if you absolutely have to. But on the first lap of a 4 hour race, be more patient. The only passing that should have been done in this race is on the straight sections, or at the most if you manage a faster corner exit somewhere and you can get by safely. Trying to beat someone INTO a corner is not the way to do it. Use your brakes and wait it out... most often the person will eventually overload from stress with you in their mirror that they will make a mistake and you can pass them with little effort at all.

AMG DTM, you need to go and race this race for real in a fast car and whoop their a$$es, lol.
After much thought about how I should reply to this I have decided that it's actually a good idea. That way when he takes his first turn going 20 mph too fast and his tires don't magically increase their grip, he can crash and then give up on driving for good. Seriously 1st and 2nd were a wash... of course you could still drive easily after 4 hours when you let the game do all the hard work.

Thanks everyone who joined in. really enjoyed it, was hard work though, four hours is a long time. the 2nd to 3 hour i was struggling, i set my fasted lap on lap 2 which says it all really
Same here. Lap 2 was the best, everything else was just trying to get there again.

I saw quite a bit of action throughout the race... There was a 3 way battle for 2nd place for about the first hour or so, we were all within 15 seconds for a few laps.

OMG, I think I pinched a nerve in my neck doing that thing yesterday, I can hardly lean back or side to side. Seriously considering not doing another one of those unless I can find a chair with a head rest, that doesnt cost as much as that exorbitant playseat.
Find yourself an AK Rocker on craigslist. that's what I did. :)

It was an exellent event! Hope you keep on hosting this type of events at least once a month! I propose a 2hr Suzuka race for April!

Thanks, that was my 1st time at hosting a pre organised race and i will definatly be doing it again. keep an eye out for them in the future
