I'm curious.. What was the credits and XP after 4 hours of racing?

Well you'd have to ask the two cheap guys that used easy mode the whole time, but I came in 3rd (out of 6). I made somewhere around 400k cr and I think around 120k xp.

What!! The was 2!!! Who was the other one? Let me guess 2nd place?

Dude, take a guess! We ALL got lapped TWICE by 1 and 2.

Didn't you hear the guys that joined around hour 3 talking on mics? They were calling out that two guys had SRF on.

I feel cheated out of a legit win; you know those two would have been all over the place (and way behind) if they didn't use noob assists.

Its your fault you failed to look at the regulations on "driving options." Its these things that make the difference. I do empathize to some degree over you labor, but thats racing. Some people go faster, some slower.

btw, having experience with skid recovery, I can tell you it makes no more than 6-7 seconds a lap in these cars, about 4-5 seconds in the Ferrari F1 cars on the Ring itself, on the GP-strecke the actual time difference is very small, almost not measurable. I practiced for the race without it, and did a 7:59.

On AMG-DTM, he was really fast a lap. Even if I was in his car he almost certainly would have still beaten me. Without skid rec, everyone knows to accelerate later and brake earlier. Duh

You're halfway correct. I'm not trying to say "I forgot to turn on SRF, so I didn't win." But no, I didn't look to see if it was allowed or not because I don't use assists, and Loskey even said he had it off but changed it because AMG begged him to have it on... I wonder why.

Your experience ≠ everyone's experience. SRF can make a huge difference depending on driving style. "I can tell you" that when I tried it a couple months back, I could run 15-20 seconds faster each lap around the Ring. You're also forgetting to take into account the fact that because SRF increases grip it's probably likely that the two that used it managed to make it through the entire race without incident... a feat that is almost impossible without the assist when adding the fatigue of driving for 4 hours. So sure everyone knows to brake earlier, but when you're mentally exhausted are you going to nail your brake points every single time? I doubt it. That's what SRF is for, it notices when you've missed your mark and start to slide... so it adds more grip.

Yes it was my fault. AMG did ask me to put it on for him and this led me to believe that he was a newbie so needed the extra aids. Theres no way i expected him to wipe the floor with us like he did. Like i said before this was my 1st time at hosting an online event, and from now on i will not allow such aids. lesson learnt lol. Even so it was a great race and Graham i belive that you did win out of the normal GTP'ers which is a great feat in itself

I honestly doubt that, that dude was behind me for the whole first lap and most of that lap I was looking on my mirror saying to myself There's no way he can make that corner and he kept on making mistakes and coming back.
Plus that car he was driving is not an easy car by any means, trough the course of 4hrs he would've spun so many times it would've put him easily on the back. Graham has all th right to feel cheated out of a win. He did everything right but at the end was defeated by the magic voodoo powers of SFR!

Ohh so that's the reason. Had I known about it being permited I wouldn't have joined period!
I just got out of a SuperGT series yesterday because of the same thing. For me is simple, SRF on no Jav on the event.

Dude on the second half of my 2nd hour I must've sup and crashed at least 5 times, I could'nt focus on the lap and kept on getting a tire on the grass and spining out. It was a very hard race but shamefully tainted by SRF...

Don't ever join another race on this forum.

You are a dirty prick who can't make a pass

I've realized that I'm not going to be able to teach this idiot how to race properly. I could get myself banned for raging at this noob

I've gotten it out of my system and I hope this moron learns that playing Gran Turismo like Need for Speed is going to lead to many more altercations like this.

That's pretty disgusting behaviour. And to think I came into this thread looking for the next endurance.

Honestly, you have every right to be angry, but what do you really expect when you join a drop in race with no free practice beforehand, no driver vetting, no stewards, on a track where any passing manoeuvre is going to be a ****show due to the track barely being wide enough for 1.5 cars?

The attitude in your posts is shameful. Ironically you are calling him out as being a child and demonstrating that you deal with incidents as a child does. Pretty depressing and makes me certain I won't be participating.

Posts like yours represent a much more sinister, deeper problem than a driver ducking into a turn and punting someone off-track.

Mike don't get discouraged by a single incident. It was a great experience and I'll do it again in a heartbeat!

By the way, guys, there's a simple way to take breaks in a long race that seemingly not many people know about:
  • Enter pit lane for schedule pit stop
  • Choose your options and hit Okay
  • Press the Start button on the way to or in your pit box
  • Your pit crew will finish working on the car, and your car will remain in the pit box until you close the pause menu bar
This way you can go take that very inconvenient Hour 3 dump without having your car be a rolling chicane 100 km/h slower than the cars coming up on you.

I enjoy a few drinks during the Monday Night Endurances and let me say, the 'park it in the pitbox' is a life saver. I empty my tank while the car gets its tank filled.

Haha ok guys, take a step back and take a deep breath ;)

Yeah SRF should have been off, I didn't realise it was even allowed til someone pointed it out at the end lol! But as Mike said, it's only his first time hosting, next time around (if there is one, I hope by the way!) he'll know what to do, hindsight is a wonderful thing :P

Just out of interest, what were your best laptimes? Managed to get down to a 8:07 in the end which I was pleased with, came about 2 hours or so in too :)

I think my best was a 7:44.xxx not 100% sure, but it was right in that range...

7.52.xx Makes me sick thinking of that thing. :yuck:Its like you just keep trudging along forever, never going to stop, no end in sight.

Racing is about winning, so with 550bhp and 1300kg you need to do the fastest lap possible.
My best lap was 7:38. I do a 5:19 with a LM car and a 5:58 with a DTM on the shorter course.
Now if you have not taken the time to test ALL the available options and all the cars at specified sector points with tyre wear and made the correct choice, and on top of all this decide to RACE with slower options, sorry you WILL LOSE!!!

HERO Drivers try and do "QUICK" laptimes with poor choice off options, FAST drivers use what ever is available, and set cars up correcly for a given track to do the BEST laptimes.

Sorry check the Scoreboard!!!

Congrats dude, you're the fastest driver with arcade physics switched on.

I'm sure you'll absolutely dominate Shift 2 when it comes out next week.

Then you'll be able leave the real racing to people who appreciate realism.

👍👍:cheers::bowdown::bowdown:
LOL!!!!

Man you don't know what real is!!!
I have been involved with REAL motorsport for about 15 years, I have built and prepared and done track testing with Production, Touring and Modified Saloons.
I have a Mercedes 190E 2.3 16 that makes 300bhp that I use for track days, it does not fishtail on power and feel like it has permanent brakefade, like your HERO options on the " GAME " and that is a roadcar.
So Wake UP and smell the roses get into your armchair with your drink next to you and practice some FAST laptimes.
Anyway its just a game and if you enjoy SLOW laptimes so be it.

I know it's none of my business but the OP should make an effort to resolve these personal attacks behind closed doors via PM. Looks like it was a great event, wish I could've made it.

Thnaks for backing me up there

guys, everyone on this thread likes four hour races (i presume) so how would you like to enter a 4 hour of Le Mans race with a full time cycle on saturday, 12 noon GMT. It will be LMP cars. There are 7 places remaining.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194140

Dont worry, SRF, ASM and active steering will be banned. It will be a race of skill. There will be a PP limit. Probably around 850-900

can we close this thread now. look out for the next endurance race in a few weeks time. this time the only aid allowed with be ABS 1
