Don't wanna spoil your post party but there is the edit button monty, ;)

Anyways, I don't think we'll see busses or rabbits in GT4..just because there aren't enough poly's left. The trees hardly look acceptable.

Interesting to note that the NSX in one of those pictures has GT4 logos. Good chance that it could also be in GT4.

I know, I know. But it's a somewhat good sign huh?

Unless i'm very much mistaken - isn't that Kazunori Yamauchi in the third picture 78th from the right? - In the red v-neck and blue jeans.

- surely this must be a good sign?

Interesting that the Nurburgring is considered almost a public road.

I know that part of the Le Mans track is public road, the Mulsanne Straight I think. Somebody mentioned on TV over the weekend, that when Peter Dumbreck flipped the Mercedes, the French Police breathalised him afterwards, because he was on the public section of the track.

Yep. I quite like the NSX these days ... Especially the modified ones!

BTW, anyone else notice the outrageous rear wings on those S-TYPE Jags? Happy downforce.

The Jaguars are from the late german series V8supercar series, and they formed a first two lap battle with the Zakspeed Viper, 2 Abt-TTR`s, FalkenR34,The two E46 Beams+1-M3 GTR E36,Two AstraOPC coupes(DTM), and "small" Black Audi RS4`03Wagon, and of course the pole sitter Porsche of Uwe Alzen993turbo(700ps),Mantheys 996GT3MR , Jâgers 996gt3(the NGK left to theNSXRJGTC) ,Basseng996turbo, and the NSX-R on a fine eleventh.Unfortunately a`yellow came up when a Seat Toledo went out in die Fuchsrohe(5km) after two laps. The monster Porsches had troubles on the wet and fell backwords. The Jagz hung in there til late afternoon. 👍 👍 👍

In regards to the rumble strips mentioned:

GTP:P demonstrated that the rumble strips will appear in various forms, even on the same track (both in height, roughness, and traction). Also, the pictures of the Skyline on the `ring in the other thread shows the construction of the rumble strips, and their height, on some of the corners.

I really doubt the chalk graffiti will be in the game. The reason Kaz said Le Mans was too complicated for the PS2 to handle yet turned around and added the Nurburgring which is much longer is because the Ring is much simpler texture wise. Textures take up more space than the track model, and all the Nurburgring needs is a couple road textures, a handful of grass textures, and less than a dozen trees, leaving a little room in memory for the occasional unique landmark. I would really be surprised if they could still fit all the writing in at a respectable resolution.

Also, I have seen several people complain about the trees, but I think they look great. Of course repeating 2D trees stand out in pictures, but during movies of the Nurburgring the trees have been some of the best I have ever seen in creating an illusion of reality.

back to the idea the thread started with, but just how will that be possible if YK is still triying to smooth out 6 max players online. Love the idea though that would be awesome, especially if PD includes those hidden bikes to unlock :) whaha, would be too much asked for I guess
For massive multiplayer races I guess we'll have to wait for PS3, GT5. october 2007 :P GT1 & 2 were games, GT3 was and introduction, GT4 is a driving school, and GT5 will be the ultimate simulator, I can't wait!!!

No. It is not a public road.
It's a track, but it's open to the public. You pay and drive.

really? do you know how much you pay for driving on the ring?

Always with the tree bashing. Moving spectators seems a waste to me. Wow, they run on the track? Great, now I can scream at them to get the **** out of the way like I do the masses of retards at say, the Rally of Spain each year. Rabbits? Someone else said this wasn't a Nature Sim I think...

oh and rofl @ TheCracker. Damn German women.

Heh, Eagle, I just owned you. The Rabbit is a Volkswagen. Before the Jetta, there was the Rabbit. Right?
Well, not quite. The Rabbit is a variant of the Golf, the Jetta is a Golf with a boot. Your partly right, and then totally wrong. Neither is a car!!

Well you guys have to remember the Nurb is an actual road that traffic goes on sometimes.
I don't know why, or even how everyone comes to this conclusion. No, the Nurburgring is not a public road, it is a dedicated race track. However, they have trackdays where people pay to drive their own car around the track, but no, it is not a public road that people use to go to the supermarket on, nor is it part of the Autobahn like some think as well.

No, parts of the course are public roads. I think it was Arwin who said this in a different thread here. Do a search, for a couple days back.

Well, I don't know where he's getting his information from, but the entire facility, grand prix circuit and the Nordschleife itself, are closed road courses. You can access the track FROM public roads, but the track itself is in no way a public road that people commute on.

Well here's a bird's eye view of the track. As you can see Arwin was partially right. There are some public roads, but they aren't really part of the track, more of the facilities surrounding it.

I know Solid, not trying to give you a hard time, but I had a good laugh when I read this:
Arwin
As far as the speed and no parking signs go, don't forget that the Nurburgring is actually mostly a regular road, that is sometimes closed off and used as a racing track.
I like the part where he says that it's sometimes closed off and used as a racing track
No, it is not a road, it is a dedicated motorsports facility just like any other race track.

...I just went and found some pictures of this Volkswagen Rabbit. I think I can safely say it too would be a waste of polygons, just like the mammal kind.

Exactly, like I said, there are roads leading to the track, but they aren't part of the actual track itself *and that is actually a picture of the Formula One section of the track, not the Nordschleife*

The Volkswagen Rabbit is just the american version of the Golf Mark I. Pretty good cars Eagle..

If it's a dedicated motorsports faciility, then why the road signs?
