Can I ask a stupid question?

Does the following rule for this event mean that you can straddle lines as long as you still have two wheels within the boundry?

"2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times"šŸ’”

Another clean try

G25 user

1.53.517
1.53.190

Still no AI for faster lap 2 ???šŸ‘

Difficult to get under the 1.54 in lap 2&3 for me, and even more difficult to keep it clean :-)
I played an hour today behind the 2 skyline coupe but I can't really overtake them before the straight and I end up meeting the other cars at the left corner of the chicane, and overtaking them here is just lucky (for me anyway). I just wish this group of car was a little further on the track :-)
I'll try to race behind the lotus this weekend, but so far I'm way behind the other Div 2 drivers!
I'm also playing with the setup that was posted on this thread, I just removed as much weight as possible (I wonder how much this car weights IRL?) Will give it a go with the default setup.
I had to switch to RockBand for a while and free my frustration on the drumkit, feeling much better now and ready to do a few more laps before bed time...

Lap 2 1.52.386
Lap 3 1.52.990

Hopefully I'll improve tommorrow šŸ‘

If this is an illegal question please don't answer it and please have it removed.

Is anyone actually able to overtake any of the cars before arriving at the back stretch (specifically, when you are coming out of the infield for the first time have you actually passed anyone CLEANLY)?

Thanks!

Because I forgot to save the replay after I posted my times a short while ago, I ran it again (fuelled by some extra frustration), and actually went quicker. :dunce::)šŸ‘

L2 1'55.257 (exactly the same as before - how freaky is that?)
L3 1'54.042

I have managed a couple of times to pass the first one out of the first corner, in the run down to the sharp right hand hairpin.

Leaderboard updated. Where is division 4

Excellent. It seems like you guys are flying thru the project. Please let me know when I can help in the beta test phase, ok?

What does that mean, please?

it means that you start behind these 2 cars....if you restart the event you can also start behind 1 skyline and 1 lotus...

something else steven, why is the leaderboard ranked only by lap 3??why not by the combined 2 and 3 lap??...

šŸ‘šŸ‘

spyrrari.

On a couple of runs I've managed to pass the last Skyline cleanly before the first right hand hairpin. On both occasions the cheating git then punts the crap out of me on subsequent corners, apparently failing to brake at all. :grumpy:
Consequently I've found it best to stay behind him until reaching the banking.

I was just noticing that too - seems like it would be more meaningful if the Gap was your total time behind both lap 2 and lap3 times.

Not once here.

Yes! But only when a lotus overcooks the corner.
Never passed a car in the infield on the track without a touch. I've essentially given up trying and just follow the last car to the banking.

Right I've messed up big time :nervous: I did this event earlier on with AM Corvette and it was my best effort thus far,I forgot to right down my final race result time :ouch:
Now I've wrote down on paper my each lap time try to add it up and im pretty positive it's not the right time. If anyone can please help me out to get the right time please PM me.

Many thanks šŸ‘

You know what Fuzzy? You're right.
If you reload your replay, it doesn't show total time. If you play back the replay immediately after the race it does show the total time. However, once you exit from there, that facility's not available any more.
Sorry about that - it must be an age thing. :dopey:

I have overtaken the skyline coupe on the first right hand hairpin, but most of the times it will run into you, if you go to fast through the first corner you cant get past it in the narrow bit and loose momentum, go to slow and you wont be able to overtake cleanly, so yes its possible but dont count on it often, and its not much of an advantage anyway.

indeed, you will have more advantage slipstreaming it down the next short straight...šŸ‘

Whats the situation with the yellow lines on the oval? I cut under the AI just before T2 and barely went under the yellow lines on lap 2 ... now there's a full cars lane below that yellow line and haven't seen a definite answer whether it's legal or not there? The rest of the race has no possible incidents, I can understand not going beyond the yellow line on a turn or hairpin etc .. any info would be welcome!

best laps so far in my not sure if it's valid yet run :p

L2 - 1'51.833
L3 - 1'51.961

I'm gonna beat this with more effort so binning my race replay now is no biggie šŸ‘
Cheers
Ron.

Sadly, the pavement below the yellow line on the banked/oval section of the track is out of bounds:
I believe it's OK to straddle the yellow line?
Sphinx - please be kind enough to clarify.

The yellow line is what defines the edge of the track on that section of the course. Therefore, seeing that you are allowed to have 2 wheels off the track, then it's safe to say you are allowed to have 2 wheels past the yellow line.

Nice times though Ron! šŸ‘šŸ‘

Ah well ... back to the drawing board it is! Cheers Vaxen šŸ‘ I somehow missed that post

It's tougher than I made out the other night this race  gotta get me a clean save quick smart and they aint coming too often thats for sure :p

The harder you push, the harder it gets. šŸ‘

I haven't tried out this event yet, but I am concerned with the royalties the AI gets by smashing into you helplessly which will render the lap useless. I don't see why you should be penalised for something that is not your own fault since I can't see any advantage gained from an AI whiplash. But if the rules are rules well I just have to try but it will probably be testing my patience this event.

This is an introduction to the world of OLR. In competition this is how it's done. However, If this were more than 3 laps then yes, there would've been concessions made for contact.

OK Sphinx I understand, thought this was going to be a precedent for future online events which got me worried, just imagine an event in Eigar! :nervous:

I wasn't able to get a clean lap in this event until I realized this. There's no need to pass all those cars in lap 1, you have three laps, use them. ;)

That means there was the skyline Coupe's @ the back in the grid line up.

It seems you have not updated my times on the leaderboard. šŸ‘

Edit, Maybe you did but made a mistake. I use the G25.

Lap 2 1'51.631
Lap 3 1'52.355

Well, then tell me what you want and I can see if I can cater for it.

Perhaps you'd like to see it in this form? Please drop a line and we“ll see.

Another issue regarding the leaderboard is the display of the names of participants. I“d like to know if the community would like to see their GTP names (e.g. Bigracer) or their Registry names (e.g. GTP_Bigracer) in the leaderboard. For some that“s the same (GTP_hyperuk) but for some it“s very different (PSTC555=GTP_PatchySan). Your opinions please?

EDIT to hyperuk - sorted.

Ah yes, and Ron/Mr PĀ“s laptimes have been removed from the board Ā“cos of the yellow lines thingy. Ron, next time you post your laps please also state your division and device info, either in the text or your signature. Thanks šŸ‘

:

My vote goes for aggregate L2+L3 times, and for Registry names.
šŸ‘ for your efforts :)

Edit: If it will make your task easier, you can ask people to post again with this info;
Registry Name
Controller
Division
L2
L3
L2+L3

That way you won't have to go back and re-formulate existing info.

agree with Desmo99618,ranking the leaderboard only by the last laptime doesn't really show where you are in the competition....:)
