Ah nuts, do the 680i boards really not support the 45nm quads? I was planning on getting a new quad core sometime, I didn't realise they wouldn't be compatible.

Ah well, at least I didn't pay for the motherboard. :dopey:

I'm not too concerned about switching to a quad core, anyways. One of the new E series will be fine if I need a new CPU within a year or whatever. Right now I need a better GPU.

Back on topic.

*edit*

Would a mod be so kind as to edit the first post?

I'm kind of late, but I recently upgraded my PC.

My time:

41.585s

MB: Asus M2N68-LA
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ 2.20 Ghz
Ram: 4GB Gskill DDR2 6400
PSU: Logisys 550w

Now to put in some lovely big digits into this thread. I come with a AMD athlon 64 processor @ 2GHz, 1GB of DDR RAM, and a ASUSTek Salmon motherboard, all in a four year old package.

Though maybe we could get this going again. Especially since a lot of people (like myself) have gotten new rigs in the last couple of years.

As a reference. Have not overclocked as yet.

Bring those i7s out guys.

I did this just for fun on my Dell Latitude d600 laptop (crap). My dad has a quad core but its my dads and I could never test it. I had firefox, msn, music, folders and other small programs running during the test :D

Got bored and overclocked. Just jumping to the lead before the i7 guys arrive. (Makes my e-penis huge)

Now to get to single figures.

Well this is my ASUS laptop with a Intel Core 2 Quad @2GHz, 4GB of 1066MHz DDR3, and has a Geforce GT 240M with 1GB of DDR3.

It's much, much faster than my parent's computer. I haven't even overclocked this laptop yet but I can't really do a overclock because my laptop has a restricted type bios. My laptop is powerful enough that I don't really need to overclock it.
