Oh man, that's real time aswell because they came for the trial version of gt4
And ofcourse you see jaggies on the cars but who cares, Iwant to see that in motion.
gry386566.jpg

The rims are 3D(correct me if I'm wrong)
gry386568.jpg

Best graphics ever!!!

where do you live, cobragt? i don't want to be near by when the tears start to flow as the sweet pre-rendered pit stop and the diving spectators play during the opening movie...

Looks real time to me, we need a confirmation though.

Those are the best shots ive seen so far even if they are FMV, that pit crew looks fantastic, the rims look amazing, the last one was the best, it did literally make my jaw drop, that scenery is amazing, it looks so real. :D

The car models are the same aswell, no one knows yet but it's looks real time. Remember, we haven't seen the new graphics engine yet and PD said they had a very powerful rendering system which is more powerful than the one they used for gt3 so you never know.

Cobra Gt,
Are you not alerted that this is FMV not ingame, by the fact that half the pit crew are wireframed as if from a intro showing design.
Guaranteed that clip is from FMV.
Probably so is the rally scene.

Well those are still cool shots. Atleast we're getting pitcrews and animated crowds :)

looking at the ground clearance on that nsx, there is no way in hell that guy is gonna get that jack under it!

while i agree that the graphics are amazing, and yes, the engine has been improved, i find it hard to believe that pictures 1 and 2 are in race footage. a racing game that can't add a seventh car to the race due to hardware limitations will not be well served by having to add MORE polygons just for a cutscene of you getting a top off. that would be rediculous.

as a matter of fact, if it IS in game, then i have doubts about what poly's focus is in making the game. the cars are the stars of the game, not you as a driver. make the cars as pretty as possible, the tracks longer, and the ai smarter. not the other eye candy.

if they truly came up with some bombshell of a racing engine that is so good that there are people in my way in the rally tracks, people fill my tanks and change my tires, smoke pours from my ps2, birds begin to sing, and the prez declares a gt4 day, but there's still just six cars on the track i'm gonna be pissed.

animated crowds? why would they do that? some motion i can understand, because it is funny to see all those cardboard cutouts when you come to a complete stop. when i whiz down the straight at Grand Valley at 180, i'm thinking about braking points, braking pressure, and not eating dirt on the other end. if you're looking at the crowds, then you're playing GT:Grandparents - The Real Sunday Driving Simulation

Well keep in mind that the full gt4 engine isn't in in yet. The shots you see could indeed be the gt4 engine, PD stated many times pitcrews and animated ppl will be in the game, it's called the human element I think. S oyou never know, if that's ingame or CG but isn't it crazy if there's 2 CG scenes of the pitcrew? Ppl said the pitcrew scene with the GT40 is CG, if they are CG that's crazy. No need for 2 pitcrew scenes, I got a feeling that's ingame, nothing is really high-res and the pics are 640x480 and psm said gt4 will support 640x480 res. We can only want to see but who cares, gt4 is going to be the ebst racer and best game of the year when it hits stores.

Actually I look at crowds and scenery all the time when I get bored; and driving at over 150+ mph. I guess it just all comes down to how good your driving skills are, with me I can be thinking of what happended first period at school, completely forgetting that I'm racing and still be turning the corners and stuff. As long as I'm looking at the screen.:odd:

No, those are pre-renders, not ingame. Notice how there are no jaggies, and the textures are crystal clear? Yeah, that's a pre-render, and not ingame cobragt. It's really going to be quite funny to know what your reaction is when you see the actual game and it doesn't look like that

We have seen the new graphics system, almost every screenshot released has been with the new engine.

Yea that's true but they aren't the final graphics, KY said they were going to be tweaked before releasing the trial version of gt4.

This is what I read about the addition of ppl in gt4

In addition, concerning the explanation regarding "グランツーリスモ 4" "("グランツーリスモ 4 "was produced) 2 years approximately, but three concepts were produced on the center. As for that car and nature (landscape - scenery -) with person. With the former work were just the car and the scenery, but now having produced the new work, that the element, person had missed largely it feels keenly. The car is shown more beautifully by the fact that the person is added ", it started saying.

Concerning the element of this person, when entering into the crowd and the pit which for example crowd in course, in clue, and the opencar which do job you can open the roof and the driver securely does the operation which is adjusted to the movement of the car. In the presentation up-to-date image was released, but "there is about quality it improves still, is long it swayed", that comment was left. You say that as for the movement of this human, when the car "of グランツーリスモ" is moving on the physical engine of automobile control, in the same way, the human body is moved on the physical engine, with the notion that where, as for research of the engine it was begun from 5 years, ago it came to the level which can be introduced at last. But according to Yamanouchi you say that it is the level that "still 10 years it is required to for the completion of technology".

What they said about the pics of the pitcrew and animated crowds

gt4_09.jpg

gt4_10.jpg

Not only the car expression of the person (the person and the car) latest "グランツーリスモ 4" where power has entered. Which extent it is actualized with the latest version, it is unclear, but you say that the crowd and the like where, at the time of the pit clue works around the car, crowds in course is expressed to real

I believe those are ingame, the car models are the same and the textures aren't really that clear but nice but I guess this is CG aswell
gt4_15.jpg

Look at the textures, they are the complete same
gt4_09.jpg

But we'll find out when the trail version is released but until I'm proven wrong with offical word I'll believe those are ingame.

those screenshots could be ingame but I think are taking from a workstation demo that is running the game at a high res and is also FSAA. two key thing a ps2 can not do. I glad to see that GT4 is going to be 640X480. That way it is up to atlest A standerd tv res.

ACR

Think they'll come up to your car if you drive reeeeeally slow? I could certainly stand to give Mr. Maroon Shirt a ride in my Integrale... r0wr! ;)

[lol, i'm horrible.]

Here's hopin'...

I don't think it really matters whether or not those are in-game screenshots. I am sure that whatever graphics are in the actual game, no one will be disappointed. Hell, I am still crazy about GT3's graphics. They are STILL the best graphics in any racing game/any platform and GT3 is going on 3 years old! ANY improvement over GT3 will be astonishing.

I doubt it's high-res, if it was it would look like this
gt406.jpg

Non of the shots, including the one with the animated crowds look this clear. But it's at 640x480:confused:
We need PD's word on this, I want to know if that's ingame or apart of a CG scene which I doubt, no nex gen GT racer has ever used CG, the intros of gt3 used the ingame models, the enviroment was high-res but still, it hasn't CG.

there will be NO animated crowds in game
that would mean they would have to model thousands of spectators just for a track
it would take too long and the PS2 couldnt handle it
oh and dont expect 3d wheels ingame ethier

Mighty sure of yourself there, eh? I am not going to speculate what will or won't be in the game. The fact is, I don't work at Polyphony Digital so I have no idea what they are planning to do. I don't think anybody else really does either.

what does FMV stand for anyways i see this everywhere yet i dotn know what it means

Full motion video and square soft ids the only game company that uses FMV and ppl are using the term FMV like they know what they're talking about  . PD has said they are adding animated crowds and pitcrews, every site and gaming mag has stated that. I doubt PD would go through all that trouble just for the opening movie which shouldn't made yet, the intro is usually made like amonth before the release of the game and it's too early for that. Go here
You clearly see PD is adding ppl to GT4, it's called the "human element." Read that old article and you'll see and also about the new pics of the pitcew and animated crowds, I translated this from a jpn site
