here is the question with the exception of a few people who dont want the f-1 series of cars back hows about nascar cars?
i just figured if were having a real driving sim we should get the nascar cars also
i personally think it would be awesome
but i like watching races anyway
so what do all of you think?

i actually don't think it really fits in this kind of driving sim (same for f1) The gt series where originally ment for streetcars and some extra racing cars........but i don't mind if they put in the stock models of the cars from the nascar-series.

i would have to agree with you but
IMO they should be included or atleast 5 of them should be so you can get a feel for them almost the same way as the f1s in gt3

Seriously...Putting nascar cars in GT4 is like putting Lui Kang in Metal Gear Solid. Atleast they have a whole championship for the F1 cars, What are you going to do with nascar cars? A Championship at Super Speedway and Test course. 500 laps at Super Speedway, and 200laps at Test course.

I'm inclined to agree - I'm not a fan of the series (although I will watch it in the absence of anything else half decent), but for the sake of completeness GT4 should have a couple of them. I'd be interested to drive one and see what they're like.

I have to disagree because there are some road courses in NASCAR.

LSU....You do realize that production cars have put in better lap times, than those nascar cars on the road courses?

I don't think anyone's going to debate that they're not the most technically advanced cars out there, from both a chassis and engine point of view.

That said, let's take a step back, shall we? According to the designers, the vision of the GT series was to be a kind of automotive encyclopedia - so, in line with that vision, it would be appropriate to include them.

I wouldn't mind running them at the superspeedway - doors rubbing, big crashes. That would be cool - and maybe you could get dirt tyres for them....oh wait, maybe I'm being silly now...

Actually it would be kinda cool if they put a track like daytona, one like bristal, and one like indy in and make it a 5 race series with SS and Test Course.

Hell no, Nascar is just extremely pointless redneck racing, I don't know how to explain it. Cars with fake plastic bodies and painted on lights on them, they all look the same except for the sponsors, only good thing is their 700+ HP engines. And to top it off, their races make me want to shoot myself, driving 500 laps in a bloody circle, you have to either be dead or extremely drunk to enjoy 500 laps around a circle I'd say...

i think NASCAR cars would be really cool in GT4. but it won't happen:( we're lucky just to muscle cars in GT4.

Well, you didn't have run to run 24 hours in the Mazda 787B, Nissan R390 or Toyota GT1, so if they were there I'm guessing you probably wouldn't have to 500 laps (or my favourite race, the 'Will It Ever End 600').

As I said above, I'd be interested in trying one out...

I'm just wondering how you know 24 hours of high speed cornering, and the fact that you CHANGE DRIVERS in 24 hour races. 500 lap oval track races are just very very tedius attempts to gain points. I mean in Nascar, isn't the record for biggest gap is like from 13th place to first?...Not that much action there...

I don't quite understand what you're getting at with this post.

Nevertheless, let me make this clear:
- I don't like Nascar. I'm not a fan of silhouette formulas, and Nascar is the most 'silhouette' of them all
- the races are excruitiatingly dull. Except when they crash - that is cool - and for a purist, enjoying that causes great guilt.

That said - I would actually like to try one. At the end of the day, it's a 700hp car - I'm sure it would go quite a deal harder than my stock Subaru Liberty/Legacy.

Well you can go to an arcade and play a Daytona 500 game, they're pretty accurate in the sense that there are ALOT of crashes and you can't turn well.

NO!!!!!!!!!

My personal opinion about NASCAR is that all the cars are poor excuses for billboards.

i think everybody has forgotten where GT stands for, Gran turismo or others call it grand touring. circuitracing for the full 100%. It's not only about the bhp, it's the full package. And NASCAR doesn't quite have it. I mean, who wants a car that drives in CIRCLES the most of the time?

GIVE ME GT-CARS

real race cars have fenders!!! ta hell with those 4 wheeled motor cycles!! F1 cars and the like!! i want real cars. NASCAR, Trans Am, BTCC, and the like...

BTCC is cool, nascar is sooooo boooooooring F1 and F3 cars are far better than nascars

If they were to put nascars in the game they should do classic nascar cars when they were actually real stock cars.

ok i have a question what are the f-3 cars?
do you mean the cart series cars?

but other than that i really think the nascar cars would be a really good idea
i mean come on its a driving simulator so why not
and yes they do have road courses for nascar

No - F3 is a national series run through most of Europe, Japan and Australia. The most famous series is the British series, which has often fed stars directly into F1 - its champs include Piquet, Senna and Hakkinen.

The cars are a level below the F3000 cars, but are reputedly more like F1 to drive. They're wings and slicks cars, powered by 2 litre engines from a very wide range of manufacturers.

The path from F3, for the good guys staying in open wheelers, tends to be either into F3000 or F1.

ok, ill settle it for everyone.. who cares if you like nascar or not. Lets let them add 10 Nascars in the game, so then we can gloat that we've got 510 cars or whatever :D . if you dont like them dont drive them :) .
