What the hell are you talking about, i bet 99.9% of pro race drivers know exactly what everything on the car does and knows exactly how to set it up. Also the comment about their being no traction controll in nascar is quit possibly the most stupid thing i have ever heard. First, they start from a rolling start second, they probably dont drop below like 170+mph. THATS wher their isnt traction control in nascar. Im sure if they did a standing start and actually took corners other than huge banked ones they would. Also, in nascar does it not take like 16 seconds for a pitstop. What the hell are they doing, changing the freaking engine or something, F1 they can filll the car up with fuel, change all the wheeles and change both wings in under 10 seconds. NASCAR quite clearly sucks.

Amen to that, heres a guy who actually knows what hes talking about

Couple of points
- Nascars run at two road circuits, Infineon Raceway and Watkins Glen
- rules on Nascar pitstops are much tighter than F1. There's a restriction on the number of crew, a maximum of two airguns, no car mounted jacks, and they can't sit waiting for the car out on the pit apron, they have come over the wall once the car arrives.

Now, more importantly - Mr Kwik - the name calling stops RIGHT NOW. People who do that don't last long here. Illicit - well handled, don't get sucked in.

You know what's funny the guys whom are clearly upset and jelous of Nascar only have bad things to say about it. I like all forms of motorsports and have driven most of them I currently run SCCA ( paved roadcourse) and love it it is all competitive driving I guess it's just a challenge no matter if it is circles closed course or straight line. I hope no one has taken offense to me and I opologise if I offended you. I really am not a nascar fan but have a tremendous amout of respect for a person that can play chess at 175 miles per hour and keep the concentration at such a high level. Like I said I love all kind of motorsports and can pick out the bad and the good things about everyone of them. So lets just get on with the game and when Gt4 gets here we can link up and show our true colors and what we are really made of.;)

just some oval racing funny. It was last year or so, but micheal schumacher was being interviewed, and he was asked about indy500 and the races of that sort. hes like "its just stupid. racing hundreds of laps in an oval at high speeds is stupid and dangerous. i dont know why they do it. its just stupid." i had a good laugh.

For those of you that get the monthly issue of Road and Track magazine you should check out the article on page 132 (sept 2003 issue most current) written by the famous Joe Rusz. It may shed some light on this subject about Winston cup drivers who arent worthy of their oversees rivals.

i dont understand are you for the cars or are you against them?
i feel they could addd to the game, but alot of people seem to think im a hick but oh well
and as far as i knew nascar drivers made a pretty decent living???????

yeah a wouldnt mind a few in the game to have fun with:)

what i have to say some may not like....
1/ i don't just dislike nascar... i hate it!!!
2/ even though i hate nascar don't say that it is childs sport cause if it was everyone wanting to make money and his grand mother would be driving for nascar teams.
3/going in an oval for that many laps on such a plane track can take its toll (sp?) on a driver.
4/I don't mind like 3-4 nascar cars in the game but the longest i would stand for a race on one of their tracks is 20-25 laps (no more)

i don't know alot about cars but i lately became in love with racing and even though i hate nascar it would'nt hurt to just for once see what it feels like.

(like being an astronaut... i dreed that but if there was a sim for it i would atleast give it a shot)

and with that i leave you with one statement... "nascar sucks but don't knock the drivers and say that what they are doing any1 else can do, for i am sure alot of you can't"

(((boy i know i am going to get alot of **** you, Bull ****, you're a scunt hole etc but i had to speak my piece.)))

oh yeah lets be mature about what we say to others. Everyone deserves their own point of views, and no one likes it when someone makes them feel it is worthless.

(damn i sound like my grandmother... i need a blunt :) just kidding)

as long as the nascars dont take up enough disc space to threaten the numbers of potential F1 cars, i dont mind . someone said, 4 nascars are enough and i tend to agree.

and as for the driving skills of nascar driver. i was truly impressed with the way jeff gordan handled the williams-bmw fw24. hopefully we'll have an american driver in f1 in the near future.

yeah 4 sounds about right, i also think that 4 F1 cars is about right aswell

Very well put everyone. I would like to see every make of manufacturers in the game including the up and coming Toyota Winston cup car. Nascar has way more than just the winston cup series though. What about the Nascar featherlite modifieds? They are a rush to drive in the Dirt to Daytona game.

So you all want GT to replace every single racing game out there? Do you realize it's called GT for a reason?

Well I don't,but they would only be adding 5 cars to the game.
I know it's called GT for a reason. In the second installment of Gran Turismo they had a ford tauraus that was a Winston cup car (I beleive it was Mark Martins #6) although I didn't drive it much it was still a fun car to aquire and add to the neat cars in the garage. They have always put a few different types of cars in their game that really had no GT background. Bottom line is they try to put most every common make and model car in their games
and then add a specialty car or two that makes a person curious, as to how that paticular car would drive compared to what they have heard about this type of car :D

NASCAR Winston Cup is enough (4 cars, one of each make, like I said earlier). They don't need to be adding NASCAR Trucks or featherlites, even though they look fun to drive. If they put more trucks in the game, I don't know why they would, then I think it would be okay to have NASCAR Trucks, but until then they shouldn't be in the game.

i couldn't agree more. I wasn't really saying add trucks or feather lites I was mearly saying That NASCAR stands for more than the Winston Cup cars and that there are many sanctioning bodies of Nascar:) Anyway its not important. The game is awesome and always will be, I don't think anyone has come close to making such a game.

As a Nascar fan since 1991 I understand the history and purpourse of the sport. With that said Nascar needs its own games. The fanbase typically does not cross-over well, and its rich traditions and nuances get lost in the shuffle for trying to gain popularity. A Gran Touring car is one that accompanies luxury and performance, without sacrificing one for the other. With that said, stock cars should not be a regular staple in the GT lineup. It has its own games, own regular fan-base, and can survive on that without having to go into a sim game against Audi TT's and Zexel Skylines.

skyline nismo couldnt be righter

that would explain my bad english grades

here is a shameless bump because i still think many people have something more to say on this subject;) ;)
