What a event that could be. Nascar verses V8 supercar. Nascar with all the power and the Aussi V8's that can turn in both ways, left and right.:)

I agree with codename47. Add them and if ya dont like them dont drive them. But i have to admit they wouldnt be much use except for tracks like test course and SS because they simply do not turn unless they slow down to like 50mph.

f3000 is now formual 2 again i think, Some formula fords too maybe.

If they are going to put in NASCAR, 4 cars would be enough- Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, and Dodge.

Nascar cars are regulated. They must weight at least 3400 lbs, and there are rules on aerodynamics to make the racing more even throughout the 4 makes. This is why they aren't the fastest cars.

4 cars is enough for me
and they dont have to be the best or fastest cars in the game
they would be cool

The main differance between F3 and F3000 is that with F3 teams can come along and make their own chasis, engines etc. (to a certain degree) and from what I gather in seeing F3000 the other all the teams in F3000 have to use the same chassis and engines, so it just rely's on driver skill and as Vat_man said F3 is a national championship and F3000 is an international championship. The reason why wanna be F1 drivers go into either F3 or F3000 is:
F3: the F3 cars (as Vat_man said) are supposed to be the most F1 like single seaters you can get apart from F1's. Hence it's a good proving ground for F1 wannabe's.

F3000: the F3000 championship is run with the F1 circus. It's a support race for the F1's. Ask Giles Gutherie, he must of seen them when he went to see teh British GP. The reason why F1 wannab's go into F3000 is, so they can get noticed by F1 teams easier.
So generally drivers have to choose between strutting their stuff in F3 cars which are similar to F1's or F3000 where all the F1 team bosses can see them.

BTW my little view is put some NASCARS in from the main manufacutrers like Injected8706, like one from each manufacturer. I agree that they don't really have a place in the game, but who cares???? . As people have said if you don't like them, don't drive 'em.
Though if they do put NASCARS in then they should put in some oval's like, Idianapolis.:)

And also I've seen NASCAR races on the TV where they're highly exciting right up to the last lap. With many frequent leaders. Hell they're easily twice as exciting as F1.

Bottom line:

It's PD's game and they will put whatever the hell they want to in it

There's a 90% chance they won't put nascar in the game, because it's uneventful, and the cars don't impress the masses.

Where the **** did you come up with that percentage?

I'd like to see a few NASCAR cars in the game. The more the merrier.

Will everyone shut the **** up with "The more the merrier"! With all these ****ty cars in the game, the game will just suck!:irked:

Ok, I'm done now.:)

I'm the only one who said "the more the merrier." And how are they ****ty cars? And how will it suck with more cars in it?

You make litte, if any, sense.

i'll take all the cars i can get in GT4, i like all kinds of cars, they could have little 5hp go karts, i'd still love the game, the more cars the greater the variety and fun

The only problem with more cars-- there isn't enough room for all of them in a garage. If they would make garages in GT4 hold about 400 cars you would be able to use more cars without needing 2 memory cards. I still would like to see more cars though.

I like the idea of adding Indianapolis Speedway into the GT series. It is not just an oval, it also has an interior road course that we could race on.

I have a question for people who say the game will suck with ****ty cars. Did you use every car to get 100% in GT3. I'm not quite to 100%, more like 92%, but I sure haven't used every car in the game and I'm not even close. Just cause a car is in the game doesn't mean you have to use it. If you do have to use it then it will only be for a couple races and then you can sell it and never have to look at it again.

wow cool someone who really understands
like ive been saying i really think they would be a great addition but if they dont put them in oh well i really wont get mad ill still play the game isnt that what were all here for trying to play the game and hoping it will be an awesome game?????    :D

I don't really care if they add Nascar cars as long as you don't have to do a Nascar series on Oval tracks to get 100%.

ok the race your talkin about is the coke a cola 600. it 600 miles!! not 600 laps!!

I don't think that putting in oval races would really work because PD have stated that the 6-car field remains (boo). It strikes me that one of the appeals of NASCAR is that there are so many cars on the track. Ergo, with only 6 in your race, it wouldn't work. Unless the lap was like 200m long. Autumn Ring Mini!

I'm not a fan of NASCAR by any means, but it would be cool to drive it around and mess with the tunings, even if it's just for the sake of doing so.

Exactly - see, I think the reason I really like the Gran Turismo series is because the designers think a bit like I do. If a car looks even vaguely interesting, or a little bit different, I wouldn't mind trying it - be it a Viper, Skyline GT-R, or one of the Japanese 'Kei' cars. It's about widening the experience, rather than just doing the 'Need for Speed' thing of limiting the game to a few high performance cars.

Like in GT2 - looking through my garage, you'd find a turbo A-Class M-Benz, a tuned Subaru Forester GT, one of the mini Mitsubishi Pajeros - not exactly text-book stuff - but interesting, nonetheless.

So, following that line, yeah, I'd be interested to try out a Nascar in GT-4. Why not? Yeah, the racing's not my cup of tea, and from a technical viewpoint, it's a dinosaur (mind you, so's the Cobra) - but aren't you even the tiniest bit curious to see what it's like?

Sure, we have a mandatory Vitz race, a mandoatory Audi TT Race and a mandatory "60 hp Japanese weakling" Race, but a NASCAR race will make GT4 suck?

I am a native Scotsman living here in the US and NOT a fan of Nascar. However, I would like Nascar cars (note cars, not races) in GT4. If they do race mods (like in GT2), the mod would simply be a version of the Intrepid and Taurus and all. Since I want the Intrepid R/T in GT4 anyway, it's not a prolem with me if there is a Nascar mod for it.

As for races, there already WAS a boring, huge number of laps, oval race in GT3, right???? So who cares if the version of that in GT4 (and there WILL be a version of that) allows players to use the Nascar mod'ed Intrpid or Taurus??? Why does that offend you all so??

I think it all boils down to ego. Non-Americans hate the US, at least subconsciously, because the US is so big, arrogant, powerful and well, nosey, in the affairs of others. Jealously comes into play too, not that ANYONE would ever admit that. So when Americans want THEIR race style included (NASCAR), even though NASCAR is clearly inferior to other race forms, in terms of interest and performance, non-Americans jump all over it.

However, remember that GT4 IS a game folks, not the end all and be all of life. If the GT world can include such "race cars" at the Suzuki, the Vitz and other sub-70 hp cars, I think a few NASCAR mods won't hurt it.

To each his own, whatever that may be.

well i guess ill take up for NASCAR here:p NASCAR is like chess when comppared to froms of auto racing because they must plan each move carefully and if they make the wrong move and fall back its very hard to get cought back up. there aren't a ton of turns for them to make up time on. they only have 4 so they must hit there marks on all 4 just right. they don't even have brake lights. . i think you guys under rate NASCAR a bunch and im not even a NASCAR fan. i like road course rcing much much more but i still respect the skill that goes into NASCAR just as the rest of you should too.

I hated the Vitz race and the lightweight races too because they were boring...so adding a 100lap+ nascar race on an oval track doesn't appeal to me at all...I don't care if they add the cars, I just don't want to have to drive in an oval for more than a few minutes.

The low-power races are some of the closest-fought races in the game. I think that they're interesting, and that they actually require some skill on the player's part, not just the application of the largest damn turbo you can find.

Hell no, Nascar is just extremely pointless redneck racing, I don't know how to explain it. Cars with fake plastic bodies and painted on lights on them, they all look the same except for the sponsors, only good thing is their 700+ HP engines. And to top it off, their races make me want to shoot myself, driving 500 laps in a bloody circle, you have to either be dead or extremely drunk to enjoy 500 laps around a circle I'd say...

What a total ASS! You my friend are a pure born idiot! At least they don't rely on their silly little traction control devices and a whole pit crew with their cute little lap tops figuring out how to make the car hook up and run better because the driver cant figure out where he is losing time or just cant figure out that he needs to brake sooner and get out of the gas! Come on dumb ass give them some credit, the boys can drive. As for the redneck thing? I have met a few rednecks but I have never met one as stupid as yourself:D

As for putting the NASCAR cars in, I think a few would be neat. But Gt is about another form of racing.

that's fine, but doing a 5 race series with 10-15 lap races in a 100hp car gets really boring..I don't mind racing a couple laps in a low power car because it does take skill, but when I have to do it for long periods of time it gets old real fast.

Yep, they sure can drive, they can drive around in a circle 500 times, now I know that takes A LOT of skill, you know, 'cause driving in a circle is so hard. You have to press the gas and turn the wheel, daaaamn I don't think I could handle the kind of pressure driving in a circle gives you ;)

Well you just proved that you are a redneck, otherwise you wouldn't be offended. Don't even fool yourself, you KNOW Nascar is a redneck sport, look at the people in the crowd and the drivers, they're all a bunch of good 'ol boys who get their kicks from driving around an oval track. Point proven. As for me being a redneck, sorry I don't watch Nascar, I don't live in the southern United States or on a farm, and I don't have a goofy accent, and most importantly I'M NOT WHITE (not saying all whites are rednecks, but to be a redneck you have to be white), instantly ruling me out.

Now see as far as I know, I never insulted anyone in this thread, either directly or indirectly, and the only reason I am writing this is because this good 'ol boy, Mr Kwik, insulted me first, so hopefully no more of this BS will continue
