What is the age of the older active sim racing enthusiast. Over 50, Over 60 or Over 70. I hope I'm not being too personal. I'm Just curious to know if I'm entering a second childhood or just experiencing a belated mid-life crises.
Well, you're never too old to enjoy yourself. It's a good thing you still have "an active" inner child. It keeps you young.
Sim racing is for all ages. I know of people in their 60 and 70 whom are still avid sim racers.
Hi KikkiIndeed Joe.
Which games (sims) do you have (play)? What kind of a rig do you have?
I forgot to post a link in my previous post. Thought about it though.Hi Joe,
When you do decide to jump online, whether with GT5 or GT6, I'd like to point you here. While not the only online racing league you could try out, I know for certain we have at least one 70+ year old racer and the ages of others in the league vary from there, all the way down to teenagers and possibly younger.
Aldo, showing all that is wrong with the yoof of today since 1993. 'Ooligan!!! *shakes fist and winces at the sharp pain in his back*
Yes I did. I think this is your rig? You build it from scratch? In that case, I'm very impressed, and I mean that. I thought you bought this sim cockpit. Since you made it yourself, and it looks like a mass production from a respected race-sim-cockpit builder, it changes everything, in a positive way.Hi again Kikki
Did you manage to view the photos I posted of this old geezer's rig. Posted in Sim Hardware. Let me know what you think.
Cheers!
Hi Kikki, I'm glad you like it, You will see that the basic chassis & frame is like the Vesaro, I just altered the front of the chassis to accommodate the woofer & console & widened the front again in case I wanted to add the actuaters at some stage. So as not to make it look exactly like the Vesaro, I added the little extras, like repositioning the speakers, added roll bar, inverted the pedals, added a foot well, added dummy exhausts, stainless foot plates. I am busy with a plinth for the rig as we speak which I think will finish it all off very nicely. I'll post a pic when it's all done. I can tell you that the cost of the rig with all the extras including the plinth I'm building is only a fraction of the cost of a Vesaro.Yes I did. I think this is your rig? The first time I read your thread, I only looked at the pics and didn't read the text and only found out, just a minute ago, that you build it yourself.
It looks 👍.
Thanks for the thread, I went through them all, very interesting reading. I seem to be the oldest of the lot. Is that coming out tops or bottoms He-He.Excuses, excuses . . . obviously axle is up to other 'old people' stuff.
