On GT7, TAKE OUT EITHER VAUXHALL OR OPEL!

Well we could keep both if they each have a car he other doesn't/didn't make, but I my opinion if I were to take out one it would be vauxhall

Why not have both but with regional differences. This was in GT3 on the PAL version where if you chose English as the language only Vauxhall would appear, where as if you chose the other languages Opel would only appear. But in GT4 it was changed to having both, although only the NTSC copy was the only one to feature Scion Vehicles.

Here's some cars that can be in the game to truly separate and keep both Makes:

Opel

Astra V8 Coupe 2003

Vectra GTS V8 2004

Vauxhall

Vauxhall VXR Astra Sport Hatch 2004

Sadly, the road car line-up I looked is nothing but badge job after badge job.
This is exactly what I've suggested all the time.

About the road cars, yes, nowadays they are (although Vauxhall does use different gearboxes; suspension etc. for the British markets sometimes), but if the two brands of duplicates where once divided starting with race cars from Opel Motorsports vs. VX Racing, like in your suggestion, it could be moved on from there. I've suggested this before, put an Opel Insignia OPC Stationwagon in the Opel Dealer and a Vauxhall Insignia VXR Sedan in the Vauxhall Dealer, just as an example. Also, once divided they can be seen as two different Manufacturers, vehicles from before 1983 can be put in without the need for any fictional-duplicates like the Vauxhall Calibra Supertouringcar, but Firenza in Vauxhall; Manta in Opel Dealer etc. etc. It's so easy, really.

I think they should stay, but remove the Vauxhall touring cars as (AFIAK) they don't exist, they are just the Opel DTM's with Vauxhall logo's and different sponsors. I prefer driving a Vauxhall to an Opel, like how I prefer driving a 350Z to a Fairlady Z.

I don't think that they should be removed at all. First of all, the outside differences between Opel and Vauxhall (the logo) are very visible, and there are people who prefer Opels or Vauxhalls depending on which one of them are sold in their country. Sorry for my English.

Think that one of teh brands should go. Who really cares if their some are Rhd and others are lhd who really gives a **** if the logos are different. Cause i dont. Dupe cars should really leave the Gt series. Yet Kaz wont listen.

IMO nether shouldn't really go away and no I don't want the Pre - GT3 brand game feature where some brands changes or gets hidden because different language or game region.

I mean i live in PAL Region and I'm using english so I don't want PD to force me to take the Vauxhall instead of opel.

Also they should Maybe add one new Opel/Vauxhall car so it doesn't sound rather outdated and maybe something like "this"...

I would say keep them both because both manufacturers have their own fans.

If you ask me what Polyphony have done to represent Vauxhall or Opel in their game has been a flat out disgrace. There are so many classic Vauxhall sports cars made which are as iconic to some people as the Ford hatches and saloon sports cars of their era. I'd like to see Vauxhall Carlton 3.0 GSI, Vauxhall Cavaliers from Sri Mk1-Mk3 or after. Like SRi 130's, Cavalier GSi, Cavalier 4x4 Turbo, Vauxhall Calibra 4x4 Turbo. There are so many classic Vauxhalls, Polyphony Digital are a disgrace for not giving Vauxhall and Opel the respect they deserve. Their is also the Opel Mantas which were quick cars. There are also older cars than these early 80's or earlier and Vauxhall made some sweet little hatches and saloons. So many fantastic cars here. Phonypoly much???? Cars from 1.8i to 2.0, 2.5 or over 3.0. Their are some quick Vauxhall Vectras with over 3.0L injection engines and turbo versions. Its such a shame.

Start your own company, make your own games. Then you can include whatever cars you like, and watch as gamers gather outside your office with torches and pitchforks because you picked those cars instead of their personal favourites.

Well, I would probably choose wraith-of-horus's game over some of the other titles currently in development.

Nobody wants to force PD to give us that huge an amount of Opel OR Vauxhall cars that would overshadow all other manufacturers, it would be sufficent if they could be made aware of the actual differences between the two to stop them from doing those pointless duplicates that never existed such as 'Vauxhall' Calibra Supertouring Car; 'Vauxhall' Astra Supertouring Car; 'Vauxhall' Tigra Ice Race Car (GT2); Opel Vectra 2.5 V6 'GSi' (Because Vectras weren't called 'GSi' outside the UK) and Opel Astra 2.0 16v 'SRi' ('SRi' is a Vauxhall specific brand, in Europe those are simply called Opel Astra 2.0 16v).

GM's policy and ways of re-branding was and partly still is very complicated, it seems to confuse a lot of people (including PD obviously).

Should PD want to model the Manta VLN/24h racecar which we all know, by their (current) logic, they could end up doing a 'Vauxhall Manta Supertouringcar' to duplicate it. It seems that they believe Opel and Vauxhall is one and the same, just that the UK uses a different name. PD need to understand the histories of both manufacturers and see that there is no point in duplicating when one of the two simply did never exist. I wouldn't want a 'Opel Firenza Baby Bertha' in a game, but sure wouldn't mind the original Vauxhall Firenza racecar.

P.S. just giving some examples here, to show what "the problems" are.

I say if Pd chooses to keep both Opel and Vauxhall they need to have different cars. At the moment the opel and the Vauxhall car lineup are the same. For exmple Opel could have cars like the Ascona or Manta and Vauxhall would get cars like Calibras or the insignia Vxr.

It would be a game changer if we were able to race prep any given car to a specific class. I'm saying DTM; GT3; GT4; GT500 you name it.

IMO they should completly delete the existing Opel/Vauxhall cars and start from scratch. Those brands are very badly represented. Add a new Corsa , an Astra maybe and just re-do the interior like they did with the GT86 and FR-S. And then add some classics.

How I think it should be

Vauxhall:
Astra GTE '88
Astra VXR '06
Astra BTCC '02
Cavalier BTCC '95
Vectra i500 '01
Vectra VXR '08

Opel:
Kadett C '76
Astra GSi '94
Astra Coupe '03
Astra DTM '03
Astra OPC '05
Astra OPC '13
Astra 1.6 CDTi '15
Vectra Turbo 4x4 '94
Vectra 2.6 GSi '02
Vectra OPC '08
Vectra DTM '07

So Opel would get the majority of the cars whereas Vauxhall would be limited to cars that were only sold as Vauxhalls (especially the VXR models).

Nice. But allow me to make you aware of a couple of mistakes you did.

There is no Kadett E made in 1976, what you mean is the Kadett C. Opel uses letters in alphabetical order to name the
model generation, so 'C' because its Mark 3, mark 4 therefore was the Kadett
'D'. After the E Kadett they introduced the Astra but kept on counting on the way they did so the first european Astras are Astra 'F'. The new Astra due to be released this year is the Astra 'K'.

There was no Opel Vectra 2.5 GSi as I stated already in a previous post.

Edit: So it would be correct as follows:

Opel:

Kadett C '76
Vectra i500 '00

Vauxhall:

Vectra 2.6 GSi '02

Personally I would like to keep Vauxhall and Opel in GT7, but increase variety by giving each dealership its own cars. Opel would have the DTM cars upgraded to premium spec. I would scrap the Vauxhall versions of those because they didn't race in DTM. I am more interested in classic cars and the Vauxhalls I lusted after as a young man were the Vauxhall Viva GT and the Droopsnoot Firenza. Those would be good to race against Ford Escorts and Capris from the same period. It would also be nice to have the late great Gerry Marshall's Dealer Team Vauxhall (DTV) Repco Holden V8 powered Firenza, Baby Bertha.

For Opel I would add the Opel GT - I can remember the first time I saw one, not knowing what it was and being amazed. The Opel Diplomat was often my winning card when playing top trumps with friends and would be good to race against other large saloons in the game. Finally the Opel Manta which was a beautiful road car and successful rally car.

Both these brands used to produce distinctive and very different models to each other and both have their own sporting history which should be celebrated - I would do this by selecting different models from their respective ranges, both modern and historic.

Enjoy this clip of the master at work - 650 time race winner, the incomparable Gerry Marshall.

Hey Jason you missed a car in that list. Why does everybody forget this car in Vauxhalls history it beats me. It was one my brother owned. - This - Vauxhall Cavalier MK2 SRi 130 bhp saloon. They made them in hatch aswell. It was a lovely car. The one you see below was when he took it to a Vauxhall car show and it won a trophy for best standard SRi 130. He doesn't own it anymore. Below it is the hatch version. Below that is the newer MK3 Turbo 4x4. Was fast as hell and still look nice. Please add this car PD!
