The heavy snow can make for some funny scenes if the ditches are deep enough.

I'm impressed with how the person got it there in the first place AND managed to get out without tipping the car over.

I thought the same, but then I just thought that there might have been nobody in the car, it just got shunted into that position and tipped into the ditch. That way it wouldnt have been disturbed by someone trying to get out.

That's odd... I mean, also my first thought how can the person get out of the car without tipping it over? But also as blaaah said there could be nobody in there. But whatever, that gives me a little laugh for today!

Why would someone abandon their car at the side of a carriageway that is moving at a fairly decent pace? :odd:

Even if that were my car, I would be laughing hysterically.
Or even if I were one of the people who stopped to help.

Because sometimes they dont. If the snowfall is really bad, cars will move slower due to visibility. Rush hour tends to amplify it. Cars then get stuck, stranded, and motorists have to be rescued before they freeze to death. Happens at least once a year on the east coast. Highways turns into snow-buried parking lots.

I saw an image of this on failblog this morning before heading to class.

Had a good chuckle about that one, though I'm sure the occupants inside that Ford must have had a different reaction.
