You also can never prove when its guess launch or someone is e cheating. Its just something that is there and will always be there. Everything has its flaws.

I heard straight from the horses mouth that Chris' last run was nothing more than a big fat tree. :sly:

ghost sees all...
if someone does jump or slip accidentally (it happens), without a red light to alert ppl of a false start, we have to rely on the honesty and sportsmanship of the person lined up beside you. other than that the person ghosting generally gets a good look at those who are a little more eager to tree than most. at the end of the day its only game and we will only get out of it what we put in to it

To continue the leaderboard tradition, here is the latest edition for GT6. This will be a bit different since there is no 1/4 mile test to post your times. This time all competition for top spots will be held online. Here's how it works:
  1. Choose a car that you feel is fast enough to deserve a spot on the leaderboards. (For explanation purposes I'll choose a Nissan GT-R '09)
  2. Take a look at the current leaderboards and see if someone had already claimed the spot for the fastest GT-R.
  3. If no one has yet claimed the top spot, send a PM to me or one of the officials notifying us that you have a car you wish to be posted on the leaderboards but the current top spot is vacant. You are then put on a waitlist for one week. This means that if a week goes by and no one else comes and challenges you with the GT-R, the top spot goes to you.
  4. If someone has already has the top spot for the GT-R, you will have to challenge them and beat them online in order for you to have the title of "Fastest GT-R". To challenge someone, simply reply to this thread in the following format:
  5. The residing champion now has one week to race you or he is disqualified and you will automatically become the new champion.
  6. Once you two make it in a room, this is how the competition will work.
  1. Along with the current champion and the challenger there needs to be three other people on the track as well. One neutral ghost that both racers agreed upon (does not have to be an official), and two judges at the end of the track to decide who won should there be any disagreements. The judges do have to be officials.
  2. Should there be any spectators, they need to go to the pits or spectate. There should now only be 5 live cars on the track.
  3. Current champion has lane choice for the first race ONLY. After that whoever wins each race has lane choice for the next race. Winner is best 3/5*.
* Should a race be too close to call, the judges can call for a rerun.
6. After race is finished, the officials will let me know who won and I will update the leaderboards accordingly.

RULES:
  • Nitrous is NOT allowed. If there is enough popular demand I may make a separate leaderboard for N20 cars.
  • To prevent too many people claiming vacant titles, you can be on a maximum of 2 waitlists at any given time.
  • SRF, TCS or any aids besides ABS are prohibited.
  • You can challenge a maximum of 3 people per week.
  • Racing will take place at the regular spot, back stretch of Indy Road Course.

Officials:

  • harry6784
  • michrulejj
  • KTalloutdrags
  • chris12008

Chris12008 I would like to have the spot for the Audi Le Mans Quattro '03 on the North America leaders board.

You can only claim two and Chris has mustang Boss 302, and Harry has ZR-1, and King I think has the Nova. And O.G. has the Camaro SS.

You can only challenge three people a week though.

no faith in me wood :(
Hahaha, yea Im sure youre quite competant Chris, nothing personal, youre gonna have to be on a patch cord straight into the GT6 server to get a tree on Blu. As far as the tunes go,Id say all the top tuners are seperated by no more than .005 ,like a bumpers width. Thats the sad part Ive found about this game, all categorys tune out the same, seemed like in Gt5 there where varying setups on same drivetrain ,now theres no desparity. We need a damn legitimate dragstrip, evidently the Japanese dont hold much regard for drag racing and it shows. Just as well show up at Indy on foot, with a copy of a speedtest from your ISP

Harry, I would like to challenge chris for AAR cuda spot

Chris you got a week to race big 👍

I realize IWin is trying to give everyone something to work with and I commend him for it, but it simply will not work fairly.
This is extremely biased to those that tree exceedingly well. I guess it could be said that its an online board so that is how it should be, but for those that don't tree well but want to get their name on the board.... Well, a wee jump or a quick tap or two is in order.
If you think this isn't going to happen, your kidding yourselves.

That's the point. I am much more nervous lining up with someone with a killer tree than a killer tune. That's why I have different leaderboards for different regions. coco wanted to race chris, he knew he was at a disadvantage going on a different leaderboard. We actually had 2 sets of runs. One with US ghost and one with AUS ghost, results were what you would expect. Had an eliminator round and coco somehow got the tree.

'Jumping' has been one of the most used excuses since GT5. What people don't understand is that jumping is EXTREMELY hard to make it look like a tree. Combine that with the 3/5 runs that I require and combine it with the fact that I hold the ghost and it is next to impossible. And 'tapping' is quite obvious.

Around these parts, the genuine competition all have killer trees and tunes. And when people are on the ball, legitimate reaction times are similar.
Sure, it's a given that if your napping at the line, your toast....but you simply can't tell if your opposition has a good tune if you've chopped him by a length come the first shadow.

I'm not saying its impossible for someone from another continent to tree outside his region, but the reality is, it's extremely rare to happen legit assuming both parties connections are up to scratch and the lobby is in a reasonable state

As for holding the ghost is concerned, that's something we've always done during our friendly comps down under. Coco is well versed at that, and we've seen it guessed on just like a shorter ghost.

You blokes were hoodwinked, end of story. Lol.

Personally, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here. I'd rather 10 close-even launches with my opposition to see how my tune really stacks up head to head, than 200 runs of treeing/being treed. It's the only way to truly gauge your car.
And if you really rate yourself and/or your car, it's how you should want to win.

Until such time that we are given a proper tree system, with a red light to punish those that push the boundaries of their launch too far, then all when have it a very shady grey area.

Other side notes / points of interest.
1. I had a very brief stint testing the ins and outs of tapping in GT5 ( purely for testing purposes of course, lol ).... assuming much of that has carried over to GT6.
Yes, the conventional style tapping used for best ETs at ssrx was fairly easily detected at Indy. But there are ways to pull it off undetected in both FR and 4wd.

2. Strikes me as odd to have boards for various regions, yet allow people to race outside their juristriction. I've not read the OP for regs regarding this, but common sense would suggested that it was originally set up in this manner, so this didn't happen.
Now your in a situation where you need two biased ghosts.
That's far from ideal...
Unless someone else guess launches his backside off, then that spot will probably be owned by Coco permanently, unless another Australasian dragger takes it off him.

End of novel.
