Online is useless thanks to the stupid Lotus

I hate this car, its for EZ kids that has zero skills, while on daytona track where normal users with a ferrari corvette or whatever has to slow down or drop the gas for a while they can just full gas just cause the car is so light.

Why did they make such a stupid car ? its only a matter of time before all races will be lotus lotus and lotus.. and 2 ferrari lol out of 12.

yeah i wish that car wasnt so fast too. i dont race at daytona... in fact i barely race online anywhere unless i'm really bored due to the horrible quality of drivers, but when i'm racing on a road course in a comparatively heavy car like the gt-r, if you see a lotus behind you, you can almost guarantee it's going to drive into the back of you in the brake zone.
 
I use the GT-R in the Fuji F race and I've won over dozens of Lotuses it's not hard, you just have to drive good...
 
Well the problem is really the online race format, not because the car is fast. When they allow everything in a single race that is the problem.
 
I love the 111R but don't use it now cos of the bad rep the car has. I tried to find a race last night that didn't have a "mugging" of elise's in it, failed and eventually gave up and switched the game off.
 
I'm racing on the London track mostly now in a Tuned Evo IX and elise aren't much of a problem there.
The only problem is that there aren't much people racing on the London track ;)

About the lotus i don't think its too good or fast... PD only has to change maximum PP for the next bunch of online races, boom - different cars will dominate! do you really think this is it already? 650pp forever? don't think so...
on the otherhand i saw a skilled driver winning against lots of tuned cars including lotuses... yes with Mazda RX 8, guess he wasn't complaing too much then :)

Well, its more of a case of hoping for them to drive bad, more than our own driving. I drive the GT-R around Suzuka, and although I often beat the Elises or at least keep with their pace. A good Elise driver will always pull away from the GT-R as the GT-R has an earlier braking point and is generally a bit more ponderous, corner speed and corner exit. Its just not matched fairly at all.
 
I raced in London last night in a 1 on 1 with visitation and had an awesome close, clean race in the F430. Will try it again later.
 
The problem is Lotus' are already light to begin with in stock form, therefore already has a great power to weight ratio. So why PD haven't taken that into account of their QTS points when making their tuned version is just even more crazy. I'm always swarmed with Lotus' at Suzuka, even if they made a mistake and I haven't, they always seem to catch me up while i'm always pushing my car to the absolute limit. It is frustrating.

By the time new events come the Lotus drivers will be confused... "What's that F2007 doing here? :boggled:" (In case he hasn't noticed the lack of Performance Points)
 
yeah true, this catch-up thingie is annoying me too.
I really hope the next races will allow more PP or require specific cars,
like tuned corvettes Vs. tuned vipers only,
even lower pp and pro physics would be interesting, you know?
 
The problem I have with most Lotus drivers is that they dont slow down. Just becuase they can take a corner faster than me, they just plow me down. Either banging into my back or using my side as somesort of rail.

I know not all Lotus drivers drive like that, but there are alot of them.

what u'll prob find is that they dont understand is that the other cars in the game can't break as late is the lotus, so the fallow ypu in the tow up to a corner and you break before they think you'r going to and either bang they hit you OR you see them spinning by you lol. The second version always makes me smile
 
You now what realy iritates me, that the elise has up to 600bhp. I thought GT was about realisme, who ever heard of a 600BHP 2ZZ-GE.

Most people online race the elise/111r with TC, ABS and ASM on, this car is on rails. It is pretty easy to tell when people racing with zero assist.
 
I am such an ass that when that happened to me at my friend's house, I returned the favor and plowed into the offending Elise.
 
Don't worry, I'm sure by Thursday, things will be very different... ;)
 
i know what you mean, they have taken over on the highspeed ring as this is where they are best...high speed corners. fair enough they haven't got the top speed but its only like 5/10mph at the end of the big straight, they make that all back on the corners + more. i actually prefer finishing 2/3/4 and having a good battle with someone else in a different car then go straight to no.1 and doing the rest 4 laps on your one.
 
Well there is a purpose of the Lotus Elise, it is a base on who's to beat at the moment. Anyone driving other than an Elise is considered as an underdog, so if you manage to win a race against the Elises then its usually worth alot more in terms of achievement. I personally never bought an Elise at all in this game and usually always race in my Lancer Evo X. I've just won a race in Suzuka with 3 111R Elises because they kept slipping up despite the power advantage (mines only tuned to 405bhp). Well chuffed.
 
I'd like to see some online races where Tuning is not allowed. Or where there is a restriction for vehicle choice(s).

Stupid in-game perhaps, but in reality, a properly driven Lotus can be as fast as said Ferrari or Corvette and probably go twice as far on the same amount of fuel ;)

Its only a hunch mind you. I got the tip-off from the game itself. Check yourself if you want.

Go to any 650pp race, and check the small print on the screen that shows you the track map, and where you can also select a car from your garage. On there it says something like 'start date' and 'end date'.

For Daytona Super Speedway, the end date is 10-04-08, which is this Thursday. So I'm assuming that the event may disappear, or the entry requirements may change. Who knows what will happen, but check back Thursday, and you will know for sure! 👍

I am sure you would say i was racing with assists also (can they even be used in pro?). You would be wrong. Some people do have the skills to control the car and they should be given credit where due.
