Online maintenance scheduled

What does it say? My PS3 isn't on, so could you please post what it says for us?

I've never seen scheduled maintenance listed as a news item before. It must be a new thing.
 
I forgot what it specifically said but something along the lines of the online portion of the game being unavailable for a certain time due to online maintenance.
 
"The online servive of 'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue' is scheduled for maintenance between 9am to 11am on Tuesday, July 8th"

Most likely, private rooms would require an update of the game. I think they're just going to tweak the servers a bit.

Last night I started a game on suzuka in the middle of a competitors car, I looked left and was looking at the driver of a f430. It was pretty cool to see the helmet that big on the 42" LCD. The game of course never started and the connection dropped.

Don't know if anybody has noticed here, there's a new GT TV video, I'm downloading it right now. I was thinking about do a thread for it but I don't know if it's necessary, you know.. (maybe we could change the name of this thread to "Online maintenance scheduled / New GT TV video" haha).

Downloading is at it's 25%..

And talking about the online maintenance... I would like to think about the chat options or so between the 12 or 16 drivers on a race, even without the private rooms done yet. Just because after thi 2.40 the online maintenance could be to check the international thing on the servers and the possibilities to use now the 2.40 option on online races, like show the drivers with which you've raced on the XMB menu like the rest of games... all just thinking about a little future update, but this is only my ideas. Let's see =]

Don't think it'll be the normal trailer we saw time ago on TV & PSN, it could be a good video maybe.

Any possibility to add it to the thread's name or it's just not very important?. My download is at 65%.... I can't wait : D

Perhaps we might not see that implemented straight from this maintenance, but I reckon the ground work will be getting laid in it. They might be preparing the servers for private rooms and lobby work along with improving international races, perhaps not to be used straight away, but to be used later on.

Obviously, they must be doing something to the servers, the least they could be doing is a simple upgrade, which is still good.

Its good they felt they needed to warn us about it, they clearly acknowledge that the game is very popular for playing online and are keeping an eye on it.
 
New video's download has finished. It's only 34 MB, unfortunately it's just the old GT Academy trailer :ouch:

At least they could have put the 69 MBs edition that was on the PSN, which was better.

I'm sure they do this on a regular basis... I've seen this in a newspost. Probably won't be anything special...like they said it's a maintenance update, maybe they're checking and tweaking the servers.

The maintenance was today? I thought it was going to be on 12nd July...

Well, anyway with maintenance or not, I've noticed 2 different things when playing online today:

1.- Before when trying to join into a race I always saw "Buscando jugadores" and "Uniendose a carrera", which on english is anything like "Searching for players" and "Joining into the race". But now, I've seen a third message, that was before those 2 when the blue line is loading, and it was "Analizando la red" that on english is anything like "Analizing the net".

2.- On the same screen, I remember that below the NAT type there was always a message, those sentences that were talking about the penaltie system and so on, do you remember?. Now I don't see them when trying to join into a race (but the penaltie system is still there).

EDIT: Seems to be that the 1st point was only on the first time I joined a race today, now all the ones I'm playing just have the 2 messages that always had.

just noticed in the xmb under your friends you can now chat via video in groups. Was this there before

The platinum icon into your Trophy card. And I think it loads XMB & log PSN session faster.
 
when you click to send a message to a friend you get the option for create a message and view trophys and also a 3rd option for live chat which gas now dissapered for some reason
